Mass Effect Thread #70

It's the best multiplayer this generation.
I have to disagree. Sadly though, it seems the franchise will be geared toward this from now on because of statements like yours.

Bioware openly said they want to attract the Call Of Duty crowd.

Wishful thinking, you really think that last multiplayer DLC would have been free if the ending was fine???

Absolutely 100%.

Given the number of people who had high-rank rare weapons the first day of MP and the first day of the DLC, there's some folks dropping serious $ to get those unlocks immediately. There's no reason at all that they would need to have charged for that DLC.

(and just a reminder, in case you want to say "really devoted fan" or "apologist" .... I thought the ending was fantastically terrible, too. I think the rioting to get it "fixed" was moronic and that the changes they make won't help at all, though.)

I see plenty of evidence the only evidence against it was cherry picking.

Will just have to wait and see if it is free.
It's been a while since I watched the vid but I remember two parts:
Spoiler
- When Anderson says angrily, "listen to yourself! You're indoctrinated!" Indoc theory claims he is speaking to Shepard, with absolutely no backing for this. He said it after TIM had just spoken, and TIM answered to it (IIRC). There is no reason Anderson would be speaking to Shepard.
- Indoc theory fails to mention the Prothean VI who says the Protheans knew the Reapers were not the masters of their own plan. They knew the Reapers were being directed by something far more powerful, which is the Catalyst.

And of course it is free. They said it is free. There is no need for some "JEWS DID NINE-ELEVEN" conspiracy stuff. BW did a crappy ending, they held their word for a while but eventually bended under fan pressure. They agreed to develop and release a free-of-charge extended cut to clarify the ending. Simple as that. End of story.

Indoctrination theory is a lie and I'll tell you why

Spoiler
Prothean VIs detect Indoctrination (as evident by the VI on Thessia when Kia Lang shows up). Neither VI detects it in Shep. Not on Thessia and not in Cerberus Command.

I also find it funny that people keep saying that this sets presedence when Beth did it first, the only difference is Beth didn't claim "artistic integrity" or whatever.

Oh yeah that too.
In essence Indoc is all just cherry picking, quote mining and just blatant lying and ignoring evidence to push wishful thinking to get over the denial brought by the crappy ending.

I suppose you are referring to Broken Steel. It was not planned before release of Fallout 3 and when fans complained about some aspects of the game Beth extended the story and did some gameplay changes and released it as Broken Steel.

What do you mean 'conspiracy stuff?' The Jews DID do 9/11 :whistling:

How did Beth do it first?

I thought you said Fern-shep :P
I'm just doing it because it'll be somewhat the opposite of my original character.
Oh and the run up to Samantha and yell "WHO YOU REJECTING NOW!! GET IN MA BELLY!!!"

Might not be able to finish it as a female though, can never seem to play most games start to finish as one.

Because Hale's voice suits evil Shep so much. It's so ruthless with that sweet accent and strong "b". Plus it's easy to make a menacing-looking FemShep.

Indoctrination theory is a cheap out, if Shepard would've been indoctrinated, we would've seen the effects a lot earlier then the end. It's no secret that Bioware rushed Mass Effect 3 and clearly the game suffered because of it.

Well, technically we have. The dreams and the kid. And maybe the auto-dialogue too... :shifty:

How is renegade worse than paragon, my paragon femshep was probably the most sadistic, intimidating, ruthless, killing machine and made the renegades look like a bunch of little schoolgirls.

You heard it. Bioware said they will not re-write the ending nor change anything about it. Bioware will be making more video-clips ext. to explain more of just how [censored] the ending is. The indoctrination theory? Nah Bioware could not even follow up on that which would have been the next best thing.

I've been crushed....

Leaked information....

-Reaper tech allows for Mass relays to be rebuilt
-Repaer tech decreases space travel between planets.
-Baily,Aria, any important named character survive Citadel Explosion

None know why the [censored] Joker left the battle yet.

There's more information, I just don't care of remembering it.

Lets just hope EA puts Bioware out of it's misery, polishing a turd is not exactly the best way to get fans back on side.I'm sick of their artistic integrity stand point, how on earth do they justify that when they do not have any sort of integrity themselves(Openly lying about decisions/ending,content pulling, woeful DLC policy). The lack of any sort of rapport from the Mass Effect development team in the Bioware forums just adds salt to the injury. It's a shame that the Mass Effect series has come to this.

Yeah. we knew this already. At least, that's how I'd read the previous "free ending DLC" announcements.

The whole thing is they painted themselves into a corner with the ending, if they released another set of mass effect games after the reaper invasion they were basically screwed because they had messed everything up by destroying the relays, but even worse was leaving at a dead end, and then starting a new after reaper invasion game, and suddenly theres mass relays and new tech and theres characters which should be dead, and old players would be going, what the hell.

I can really see it becoming mass effect/call of duty, there will be a single player game that you can complete the same night you bring it home and then the multiplayer component which is its core to keep the kids happy.

But ill keep saying it over and over again, someone wanted to put their stamp on the game by doing the ending, not the writers, and its obvious that the multiplayer did change the singleplayer because the singleplayer game was complete till they were told to insert a multiplayer component which held it back, and because there was no multiplayer when the singleplayer was done, its obvious that they made changes to the single player as they tied it into the multiplayer after the fact, as hudson said in his interveiw with Prima Games, he said that player would be skeptical that the multiplayer would affect the single player game, geez i wonder why players would become skeptical after being screwed around so many times by multiple games companies.
