I Miss the Old Days, Back When it Was Hard to Get Good Armou

Don't you just miss how in Morrowind it was very difficult to get a full set of good armour?

It was so much more rewarding when you did get good gear

It still takes alot of time to craft good armor not to mention to get enchants you want. And alchemy is not really that easy to skill up unless you cheat... Gathering mats on your own is pain.

This game can be very hard to get good armor if you approach it a certain way..

Take the Shrouded armor for example, the first set they give you isn't as good as
Spoiler
The Ancient Shrouded Armor that you get from the fortune telling lady's quest if you complete the bonus for one of the missions
and if you don't grind smithing or enchanting then you won't get high quality PC crafted armor for a while.

Unless they release dlc equipment that puts current crafted gear to shame, there won't be any point in adventuring or exploring dungeons for loot.

What are you talking about? I could easily get a full set of glass at level one in Morrowind.

Smithing equipment is optional. Many people will equip gear that they found in-game from loot/quests.

Yes but a full set of Daedric was [censored] to get unless you were willing to kill a valuable NPC, or wait until the main quest was completed. The best medium armor required you to slog through the whole tribunal temple questline.

or just, I don't know, kill a guard?
with the taunt function, you could get away with it for free to boot

First time i went to sleep in morrowind i got attacked by a dude wearing some of the best light armor in the game. Also you could easily walk to ghost gate and get a crap load of glass armor and indoril armor the second you got off the boat. You can't do anything like that in this game without doing an amount of grinding that I shudder to think of.

this. Or gettting db armor within ten minutes of starting a new character with the tribunal added. Or how about a deadric weapon for taking one step into a mine and reporting it? Morrowind was so broken if you played through it more than once. People seem to forget that morrowind had flaws just like the rest of the series

Also without spammin smithing finding decent armor takes forever. I'm still using wolf armor for my low smithing warrior and he is level 20.

Well I don't remember much of Morrowind, but I do know the dwarven armor was hard to get and slaying a guard to get it took forever. I had to use that black white black black black combo (or whatever the combo on xbox) to keep my health up.

I then stole a piece of armor and put it on only to be attacked by the shop keep. I also remember the strip club and trying to get the armor from the dancers....

yeah Morrowind was hard for me but it was my first RPG and I had no idea what to do. I miss it...

The Ebony mail is a good example for Morrowind. You have to do the Pilgrimage of the Four Corners of the House of Troubles. You can do it without joining the temple, but you have to go into some Daedric ruins and deal with some agressive orcs.

I understand Glass though. You could steal some from Ghostgate a any level.

But for Daedric, you either killed Fyr or trekked all over the place... A Sixth House Base, Kastle Karstaag, and that awesome place under Mournhold...

I really like to remember Morrowind.

Maybe to get a full set of daedric armor. To get a full set of glass though it was easy. There was Ghostgate and quite a few other places. to answer the question though I;m nuetral on the topic. Not an issue one way or the other to me.

I am finding plenty of glass and ebony, but never deadric and dragon (with the exception of a shield once). The highest tier armors ARE hard to get in Skyrim, unless you are willing to grind smiting. Atleast it is better then oblivion. That [censored] was ridiculous.

I feel better when i've gathered the ingredients and made it myself. It feels like my own armour instead of a set you just find in some random cave.

It really isnt that easy in skyrim. I started an Umbra character and from level 1 grinded smithing so i could get Ebony. It took me well over 20,000 G and 14 levels to accomplish that.

It wasn't that difficult to get good armour in Morrowind, early on in the game.
And actually depending upon how you play in Skrim it's not that easy either.

When Griselda was 59th level and retired she had 1 pair of Dragonscale Gauntlets, no Daedric at all. Don't use Smithing and Daedric and Dragonscale will be plenty hard to find. I wouldn't mind if Malachite, Ebony and Daedra Hearts were rarer and/or more expensive though.

you dont have to smith it, you can just wait till you find them as loot, so far from looting i have
daedric gauntlets, boots, armor and shield
dragon scale armor and shield
Full set of Dwarven/glass/elven/ebony/falmer/orcish/ancient nordic(yes there is a place to loot for this and its quite abundent)

yeah i could smith for another set of daedric but i dont even use the armor because imo i hate the helm, but i bet that if i keep hunting ill eventually find every armor piece in the game
