Most Unwanted Class

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 1:59 pm

I'm going to be a light operative with the Anger archetype just to piss people off.

But seriously, I'll be mixing everything up. Just depends on my mood and what my friends are doing.

I guess tbh, if there is a class no one wants to play or 'worst class' it shouldn't be in the game.

I choose Medium just because I want the freedom of movement but I also want to be able to attack head on without getting completely owned. I will probably test out the different ones though, light sounds fun to though being able to get across the terrain real fast to flank the enemy with smgs mmm yum.

I think all of them are stupid honestly.

Medic: Pfffffffffffffffff, who needs to revive people and buff health to keep them in longer when you have buffed armor and can have a [censored] ton of explosives?

Soldier: Pffffffffffffff, who needs a [censored] ton of of explosives and have buffed armor when I can disguise, have sticky bombs and back stabs?

Operative: Pffffffffffff, who needs sticky bombs, disguises and back stabs when I can get a damage buffs and turrets?

Engineer: Pffffffffffffff, who needs turrets and damage buffs when I can revive people and keep them in the fight longer with health buffs?

God, what useless classes, this game is going to be so bad it's good.

Heavy is going to be cool to look at though, roids FTW.

i can easily see the light body class being the least wanted when the game goes live. Assuming there are accuracy penalties for sprinting, lights will be forced to move slowly or not at all while firing, eliminating their speed advantage where its needed most; while they'll already be at a disadvantage by the limitation on what weapons they can use, and the limit on their total health.

I actually think the Light body type will be the most unwanted bodytype, due to the low health, but the movement probably evens it out

Funny the poll says otherwise. What I like is that everyone has to start medium then later upgrade to light or heavy. Last I heard only there are only penalties when actually using SMART like vaults or slides. Use speed to flank and the bigger guns won't save you.

The poll makes sense to me, SMART is one of the big attractions to Brink. People aren't planning on playing Brink to move slowly through the game, barely being able to climb over tables (even if they get lots of firepower), they want to leap over walls and run on rooftops.

I am looking forward to playing a Heavy body type. I think every class has their place given the right scenario. The Heavy takes a lot of damage and is able to use powerful weapons. I think that sounds like a lot of fun.

Even as a heavy you can still use smart your not stuck to the ground like some 500 pound moron... everyone can use smart it's just what they can do with it that changes.

O.T Anyone hating on heavies be prepared to face me in battle as you run from my minigun and turret.

I plan on being heavy, but I have to say that heavys are limited to waist height stuff, throw in their jump height and you might get up to their chest. Barely being able to climb over tables isn't really the SMART experience.

At least they aren't getting caught on the coffee table as the light burst the window.

Well that was the trade of for health and gun capability. However only a heavy can say "I'm the Juggernaught [censored]!"

I think it's easy to discount heavies based on prior experiences in the FPS genre, but I don't envision Brink as being beholden to the same stereotypes and protocols as other games of it's ilk.

Like I said, I plan on being heavy, and understand the trade-offs. Yes, SMART will still be useful, but you wont get the full experience if you play nothing but heavy.

I didn't even pick heavy for the poll. I personally plan on either being one extreme or the other most of the time, so medium is the most unwanted for me, at least until the game comes out. Even a game that was all heavies and lights could be amusing.

Well, why shan't we talk about both problems:

Class - probably none of them, unlike in previous SD games. You got same weapons for each. If there will be most useless(say, slightly less useful) - it will be operative, as it was in ET & ET:QW.

Body type - I think it depends on the maps we'll be playing on. It will also depends on the precise balance of the movement speed, weapons damage. I would say none of them, again.

You get to chose one of three weapon load outs (I just know that you have three so far) that you customize yourself.
For the body type it depends on your playing style of class.

I believe you refer to the Container City Gameplay there, right? The reason for them to have three loadouts in that video, I think, was, to be able to showcase the three bodytypes. Because if you listened carefully, you'd recognise that Paul not only changes his equipment in that video, but apparently also the bodytype with the loadout.
