I'm personally crossing my fingers for Animal Friend to be back in, it's my favorite perk in the whole series.

This too. I always felt the animals should have some kind of aggression system. Most leave you alone but when hungry or provoked they will attack.

Plus, wandering around the wasteland and listening to Bing Crosby and suddenly getting jacked by a damned Yao Guai made me choose Animal Friend in further playthroughs. Seriously. Never again.

Yup, thats what I like about what I read about those Big Horners, supposedly, they won't mess with you unless you mess with them. :vaultboy:

I would actually prefer some type of animal taming perk. Because while AF was a cool and novel perk, it was kind of lack luster for lack of a better word. I actually thought animals would come out of nowhere in the wilds to help you...I was wrong. In essence it became too situational for my tastes. A waste of two perks that I wish I could of had back...that is If perks weren't so plentiful in F3.

Still want someone to explain a situation where Long Haul is awesome to get.

It's probably only good for a Speech/barter character. I could see it being really useful if you play a character whose main goal in game is to maximize their monetary income. Even though the devs have said they don't want you breaking the bank in the game so-to-speak i think if you dedicate your character to barter/speech then you will be able to greatly influence the economy and make it work to your favor.

My take on the long haul perk is that in hardcoe and coupled with the pack rat perk you will be able to make "money runs" selling junk much more efficiently than a character who has a low barter skill. It takes a barter skill of 70 to obtain the long haul perk; that is a lot of points invested into barter and pretty much means you'll be getting huge returns for selling things to almost any vendor.

In My opinion if you combine the "Long haul" perk with the "Pack Rat" perk then you could potentially make more money in less time than a character without those perks. essentially the "long Haul/Pack rat" character is making more money off junk items than a non barter character treasure hunting for high priced items to sell.

That makes you less fearful out there. Packs of Yao Guai were a force to be reckoned with for a while without that perk.

but Long Haul... lets you fast travel when over burdened... That's all... it doesn't let you carry more, it doesn't boost selling price, it doesn't help you make more money.

Sure you can fast travel while over burdened but, how long are you going to actually BE over burdened before you fast travel? I cannot see a practical use for this perk. if I was out collecting stuff to sell and I hit my weight limit, I'd fast travel to town and sell/restock, with long haul all you get is -> go out to collect stuff, find stuff, Fill up on gear and maybe be what 10-20lbs over max weight? and then fast travel and sell. but you are forced to walk while over burdened... that svcks what if you're in a cave? then you walk to the exit, that takes forever. i'd rather grab the "best" junk and book it outta there. There's no reason to grab the 23 empty bottles on the ground because you can still fast travel with that 23lbs over the max because the gains do not out-weight the cost.

Nice misspelling of gamespot

Teehee I'm a grammar troll

I found three things wrong with your first "sentence."

I just realised how awesome pack rat is in hardcoe mode: You can carry double the amount of chems, money and ammo. Maybe barter will actually be a viable skill choice this time round.

Wouldn't the correct way be

Okay, I've coloured a few of the Vault Boy Perk pics.

Here's a teaser: http://i731.photobucket.com/albums/ww316/SimpsonFly/FNVPerkTheProfessionalcolour-1.jpg

I'll be back with more if anybody's interested.

On-Topic: I don't really think that the Long Haul perk is that over-powered. It's not like you can run or jump or do anything that you can't normally do while over encumbered, just fast travel. Seems fine to me.

Long haul means I can go into a fight with 1000 grenades and mines all the ammo I want all the food and water I want.. and then after the fight is over come out with everything and I do mean EVERYTHING. Every last power armor every last fission battery every last nuka cola every last spork.

If you're over max going in you'll be walking have fun in that fire fight..., I mean if you have max weight going into a fight, you probably should have restocked and sold stuff back in town before running in, sure you get to collect ALL of that stuff (even if you're 199/200, but then what? fast travel to town to sell the goodies?...should have done that already...and the cave part still lingers.

Maybe other people don't maintain their inventory but I know I do... and Long Haul still looks worthless.

Edit: I think people are thinking like the "power armor" idea and thinking that they could get 5 sets of it and go sell it, where realistically you'd repair one suit to max and it would be worth far more. and weigh a ton less.

Once again I see bawwing over 'overpowered' things. Look, a perk and trait are optional, if something is 'overpowerd' shut up and dont use it. Don't like other people using it to make their experience the way they want to? Shut up and get over it, its their copy of the game, not yours.

Jury Rigging, Laser Commander, Shotgun Surgeon, and Purifier all looked pretty kick-ass. I can't wait to play New Vegas just to see all these awesome new perks! :tops:

EDIT: "Long Haul" if your deep inside of any sort of Vault type area or Base it'd take you ages to get back out and at a point where you could actually use Fast Travel, I know I personally won't be getting this perk but I don't think its all that overpowered. (Plus you have to have 70 Barter to even get it, that is a huge skill investment and now that we can't be jacks of all trades if you haven't invested in Barter as a tagged skill your probably not getting this perk.)

OMG. Now I have to tag Barter. Damn you Bethesda! :banghead: :goodjob:

Long haul + Pack Rat = WIN for a compulsive packrat like me.

And BTW http://i731.photobucket.com/albums/ww316/SimpsonFly/FNVPerkTheProfessionalcolour-1.jpg

Long Haul isn't that big of a deal. Still will have to crawl at a snail's pace after leaving fast travel and there is more important skills, other than Barter, to be spending points on that early in the game. More practical to pick it up as one of your level 26-30 perks.

Jury Rigging is the best of the perks listed. Can't do much with broken equipment and I still expect the weapons to be excessively fragile like they where in F03. Opening up a wider range of repair options will be vital.

People are seriously overestimating Long Haul. You can just drop some of your loot and make 2 trips to collect it all and save yourself a perk.

Oh man this is nice, I just read through and my favorite weapon type in the universe has a perk assigned to it! Muhahahaha! :)

Don't wanna spoil so I'll leave it there, but my Browning Maxus and I are very happy. :fallout:

They said that they have most of F3s perks, so does that mean that these are the only new ones?
