I like those perks, especially the "Jury Rigging" perk. I like the picture for Math Wrath though.

I gotta agree that it's absurd to argue over the finer points of Long Haul and how it makes sense when there is a perk that lets radiation heal you.

It just went from too powerful to too illogical. :ahhh:
How in the name of Bruce Willis does knowing to talk down prices make you able to travel more quickly?

Knowing you'll have a big payout for hauling around all that gear, you gain the motivation to trek many miles across the wasteland in a crawl.

Do not like that you need a 45 in melee to get the Cowboy perk. I wasn't planning on investing in melee with my Cowboy/Gunslinger, just Guns, Explosives and hand to hand. Oh well, maybe I'll drop hand to hand if their are more cowboy themed melee weapons.

Yeah it fits fine inmy opinion. But I see the Barter skill as being about your skill as a trader in general, as opposed to being purely about haggling.

The only way it would make more sense is if the perk had a Strength or Endurance requirement on top of the Barter one, but I think it's fine as it is to be honest.

I like these perks. The fact that you need relatively high stats in order to get them makes them less overpowered, and now there's an actual use for the barter skill. :P

Jury rigging and pack rat seem like really great perks for a hardcoe player. Just imagine the amount of ammo you could drag along and keeping the small amount of guns on you repaired is much easier with jury rigging. I like!

Yep these perks seemed fine to me as well... Though I just have to say to everyone saying Longhaul is overpowered, I have to disagree. You only get 15 perks (ahh let em bring back gifted so you only get 10) and if you want to spend 1 on this more power to you.. then again I would never do it myself as well I have all the time in the world heh so I can always just come back for more if the loot is that grand.. I think its well for people who just do not like taking that much time with mundane game stuff.. which is great though the high barter is sure a price to pay to get it heh.

So glad to see Long Haul, I'll definitely be suiting my character for that trait, I'm such a pack rat ^_^ .

EDIT: I just saw Pack Rat, I might have to get that one too :P .

So let me get this straight, you'd take a perk that allows you to fast travel while "over burdened"...

To fast travel you have to be outside, so can't do this in doors / in a "dungeon"
You'll still be forced to "walk" instead of run <--
At what point are you at 199/200 weight and need this perk to carry 70lbs of equipment so you can sell it...
What is the point?

What is the point, really? I mean you could just fast travel to town sell stuff and fast travel back. unless you're in the middle of no where, walking in the desert, in which case why can't you drop something bad and keep running, I fully understand pack rat, I think it's decent for hoarders but long haul seems like a complete waste to me.

Did I miss something about why this is a good perk?

Edit: I take that back even though you cannot fast travel very far if it will ill your character, the park is still useless yea because you probably would fast travel to a town were you can sell your items & then restock up on water and food.

I like that they require investment. You can't try to be a jack of all trades and expect to get the good perks early enough.

I would agree, but the part you missed is that in hardcoe mode it doesn't let you fast travel very far if the travel will kill you.

How does that make this perk better? ( I didn't know that btw, that's cool.)

I couldn't stand being forced to walk in FO3, and no scrap to sell is going to make me walk / backtrack through a "metro tunnel / cave / etc...", I'll take the 40bottlecap hit and either come back later to get more stuff or just leave it where it was.

Edit: see you edited. Yeah, I mean the perk is just plain bad in my book, maybe people can explain why it's good though.

My two perks out of that list I am for sure going to have is The Professional and Jury Rigging, Jury Rigging is the most useful thing ever.

Those cowboy-ish perks seem a little unfallout-ish....but then again since it's Nevada....still I would rather them do the same thing, but have different name and pic.
Generally I still prefer those, than "empty calorie" perks that simply increase your stats - In FO3 I considered this method nothing more, than faking of the real ammount of perks in game, by throwing lots of empty stats perks to the choose list.

Cowboy, Shotgun Surgeon, and Jury Rigging will be mine.

Especially Cowboy, I love lever-action weapons. Cowboy repeater and Lever-action shotgun here I come!

Those wanting the Cowboy perk probably should go ahead & get Purifier lol oh my gaawd . . .

Cowboy + Purifier = %75 damage to mutants & deathclaws etc with a hatchet or a knife. How much mutant could a hatchet hatch if a hatchet could hatch mutants?

ANSWER: Hatch the WHOLE motha effin game

Hah it's too bad I do not care for ethier of those perks for my first playthrough.

Still want someone to explain a situation where Long Haul is awesome to get.

On another Note...

Built to Destory
+3% chance to crit with weapons but weapons degrade 15% faster

Paired with,

Jury Rigging
You possess the amazing ability to repair any item using a roughly similar item.

would be amazing.

Can't wait to get the game manual and make a "crash test" character mock-up while the game installs.

some of these perks make the replay value seems so much higher than i initially intended. there a lot of really cool reasons to max out certain skills.

I'll definitely be spending a lot of my time making characters with vastly different skills to max just to see how different all these perks make the game feel.

the only thing i dislike that i see is that the barter skill is the requirement for any type of item finder/forager/pack rat player. It seems ill definitely be having a merchant type character in this game as well. /sigh another character i have to plan out accordingly.

Err, one perk i dont like is purifier, an immediate damage boost to any "unnatural" enemy (even if only for melee/unarmed) for only your level as a requirement is boring. It seems like a must have for any combat oriented character because it gives a big damage boost to to enemies that should be very difficult to defeat.

It just seems like a more mandatory perk in a pool of perks that feel more oriented to the route you choose with your skills, rather than "this perks is really good no matter what, so i will almost have to take it."

I really like how the perk styled themselves to help your build

I dont think ive ever made a sneak style in any fallout but that skill to do 20 percent more damage is sweet

as well at the shotgun DT reducer makes shotguns an always on your quick wepons

I'm personally crossing my fingers for Animal Friend to be back in, it's my favorite perk in the whole series.
