.22's are going to be in the game I like that. Light weight guns even with ammo weight you can carry hundreds no problem. If they bring back shooting people in the eyes that would be awesome!

It just sounds to me like real time combat is going to be improved. VATS is still going to be in, so I see no problem with it.

How?

Ya know, everyone is all about not having any more bullet sponges and all...But really..Your character is a [censored] bullet sponge! If you are going to make it so an enemy can't take a wad of bullets to the face then you probably won't mind it if your PC can't take a freaking missile anywhere on the body without suffering instant death!

Well we're talking about the first person shootery of it, and in every FPS me and my friends play, your guy typically gets shot, your health goes down, and then you wait untill your health regenerates then start shooting again. If that happened in NV, people would hate it. SO that only leaves the option of being bullet sponges and using stimpacks or dying over and over and over again from being out numbered in the early stages of the game and quitting.

Yeah, It would svck if they made it so you would regenerate after a battle by just standing there yes..maybe one thing they can do is not let your guy be able to change weapons armor & being able to heal yourself while in battle. That way they can cut down on how much it takes to kill the enemy while still making it a challenge for your PC?

ack! I hope it is not that way. I wasted alot of time in DAO waiting for health to regen to finish the second part of a fight. Not my favorite style to play.

I'm 99.999999999999999999% sure that the whole standing regeneration after battle will not be in any Fallout game ever.

Yes, of course! And this should be implemented forever.

Someone suggested "no more bullet sponges". That would be what i hope for. I understand the 10mm pistol isnt that powerful, but 6 shots to the head is quite a lot for just a regular Super Mutant.

That I think is not a lot for any type of Super Mutant, as if I remember correctly their skin density increase due to the mutation which makes them more resilient to damage.

Back to the topic at hand, some nice snippets in there. Such as the temporary boost from magazines.

Great news otherwise, but that made me grinch. Does it mean that we're approacing CoD here (baaaad) with even more dominant player skill, or that there'll just be ironsights, leaning from behind corners and/or prone position, or what?

I think it means they aim to rebalance the games combat so it is easier to play threw the entire game with just realtime FPS/TPS combat and not being dependant on VATS.

"Skill magazines" you find in New Vegas will only temporarily boost your skills

It?s because PC survived the shoot wound of the head so he now can?t memorize new things?

in this case we have to file that under "it?s for gameplay sake even if it doesn?t make 100% sense"

OMG a Rollercoaster, I hope we will be able to put some energy from Hoover Dam there to activate it and then you can sit on the rollercoaster and zoom.
When they say that FalloutNV Body costumizer will be the same as Fallout 3 does that mean that they aren't putting fat/regular/skinny/muscler/height/and such

All sounds very good. Expecially that, those super mutants seems to be tougher. :) In fallout 3, they seemed to be just raiders with green skin(in combat aspect). But they sounded pretty aggressive, what was good thing.

Temporary skill point boost in books, is a very good thing. :)
Death animations depended on weapons, sounds awesome. :)
Heck..all sounds good. :) Exept those "spoiler" thingies because i am started to getting too scared to read these reveals anymore, as they will reveal some bits of the plot. :(

When you add "than deathclaws" to that sentence it's no longer good.

and I still say your making a hen of a feather, when they say they are as tough as deathclaws they mean as a overall challange, then what that extra toughtness mean (better guns/ bigger numbers etc) we still have to see.

Sounds fantastic but for this... I hope the rest makes up for it. (I think it probably will).

I'm fairly certain it means just what it says. I read the article and the exact phrasing was something along the lines of tweaking how the first person combat feels.

I'd guess making it more fluid, faster responses to button-pressing, etc.

The hang-up with combat in FO3 [for me] was that if you pulled back into TPP to get a better view you suddenly were aiming at the floor ~and there was no way to fight from that vantage.... It just seemed an odd omission ~like it was unfinished (or forgotten?).

I found that regular FPP combat in FO3 was passable and enjoyable, except for the attenuated aiming (which was somewhat predictable, and could be compensated for...).
Catch 22 really... You needed that, but its awkward, but you need it, but its annoying... Perhaps they found a solution to this.

Why is everyone hating on the improved combat? They real time combat equaled that of a crappy shooter. It just seems like they are going to improve it, ie, no auto aim, and so on. They haven't said anything about a total combat overhaul, or changing the game to a crappy, overrated shooter, like Halo or COD.
