Sometimes, it is impossible to NOT chase furry little foxes and beautiful butterflies.. I'll admit, I do that too sometimes. I also like to "fish" but not into it much. I want REAL Fishing!
I am sure that happens in real life too x)

You mean you've never walked along a stream with a big fish swimming in it and thought, "I'll bet I could grab that svcker with my bear hands if I leap in on top of it"?

And, according to the guide at least, swinging dual pickaxes at a vein can mine ore twice as fast. (Personally I mine things when I want to give my hands a break, so I never use the manual mining anyway.

I told my brother there were cat people in the game (meaning Khajiit, obviously). His first character met an untimely death trying to make friends with a sabre cat. Quite cute, really...

I nominate this for the best post in the thread so far. :D

It took me along time before I realised you can shoot hawks out of the sky to get their alchemical ingredients. Not easy though.

And I had no idea about being able to mine with axes, or even equipping the pickaxe manually and doing it yourself until now.

Now he's learning everything there is to know about archery at the Companions practice range, including bashing.

Is he a total newbie to this kind of gaming? Or just to Skyrim?

I just found out after 300 hours that I could look at the maps in the game, the ones with the pins on it, and get my map updated.

Oh, and rotating the world map, that was recently discovered.

And, last noobie thing, using the End and Home keys when in a screen that uses a slider. Like when bartering your arrows, use the Home Key to get quickly to 1 or the End key when you want to rest 24 hours.

I was way further than that into the game before I realized that you could swing a pickaxe manually at an ore vein to mine. It did not ever occur to me to do that until I read about it on this forum and I have been playing these games for years.
WHAT? you CAN?
Just wait 'til he's 200 hours in before realising the sprint button works on horses.

My older brother-, "Are these guys tough, will they attack me?" (pointing at two Giants)
Me- "Just figure it out for yourself."
Bro- "I'm going to attack 'em". (He dies about 5 seconds later. It was pretty funny, one hit and his body flew upward, about a 100 feet into the air.)
Me- "FYI, Giants won't harm you unless you bother them."
Bro- "We'll you coulda told me that earlier!"
Me- "Did you save it?"
Bro- "No."
Me "Yeah, you'll want to save it about every 10 minutes."

Oh the sweet memories from when I first played TES. There was so much to learn. Those moments will never come again and it'll probably be 5 years again before we can experience the newness of a TES game. Thanks for sharing that story. :tes:
