I think it is. I mean Zenimax copyrighted it, like they did with "SKYRIM" and it just sounds so much like something that would be in TES. We have Azura, prince of dawn and dusk, Dawnbreaker, Dawnfang, Mythic Dawn, Dawnstar, the Dawn era, and the guard suffix sounds very Nordic, like Sovngarde.

I'm not saying it would be the exact same spelling, obviously it isn't, but spellings for things can change from culture to culture, locale to locale, time period to time period and even just between individual instances.

I still think that if this is TES related, it's related to the Dawn Era itself.

Skyrim deals a lot with the end of the world, would be fitting to have the DLC deal with its beginning.

Broken Steel, The Pit and Point Lookout were really good so I'm not worried. Shivering Isles weren't bad either.

"Dawnguard" might be a new island off the coast of Skyrim sort of like Solstheim.

If this is the case, I think I will be disappointed. But I will not jump to conclusions just yet.
Me too... I want to explore some of the unused landmass in Tamriel, not a small, self contained world.

I was thinking Dawn+Redguard->Dawnguard? Makes me think it involves the strife going on in Hammerfel. I could imagine some either elitist or seperatist group of Redguard using the term Dawnguard to name themselves as special. Or perhaps it perhaps its the name a group of displaced or exiled Redguard use to refer to themslves? Or maybe it's just a DLC that replaces every NPC, piece of building material, piece of furniture, and bit of foliage with guard textures stretched onto the original meshes? Also they already made a game called Redguard and Hammerfell sounds odd maybe?

Also one of those table-top wargames (Warmachine) has a group in it called the Dawnguard. Maybe they're making a game based on Warmachine? I kind of hope not.

Well, it seems unrelated, but it seems they may be starting to look for people to help with their next ES game since we can assume it won't be for the current console generation.

This is probably Bethesda hiring people for next-gen games (PS4, xbox 720, 2014-level pc hardware) . Probably Fallout 4 :P (Oh please let it be Fallout 4!!!)

Still, I think it's not related to Skyrim DLC. Seeing as how imminent the first Skyrim DLC is (it's at most 2-3 months away) I doubt they would hire people for it now...

I think you misread that. Ready At Dawn is the name of a development team that has been developing the PSP God of War games, so Ready At Dawn isn't a reference to this Dawnguard project. That said, Dawnguard will either be the name of an expansion for one of Bethesda's games (like Skyrim), the working title for a sequel to a game, or it will be the name of an entirely new IP. So right now, we can only speculate what Dawnguard will refer to, but Dawnguard sounds rather fantasy-like, and to a stretch sci-fi, but if this refers to one of Bethesda's already established IPs, then it could be TES-related since Dawnguard doesn't sound all that Fallout-ish ( I'd imagine Fallout 4 will probably just be called Fallout 4, and a Fallout MMO would probably have a subtitle that references the MMO part, which probably wouldn't be Dawnguard, though I'd rather just they do Fallout 4 for the sake of fans), but like I said before, Dawnguard could easily refer to a new IP as well, though I can't imagine them starting up another fantasy IP when they've got :tes: , and besides, they probably are going to hold off a bit on new IPs for a while anyway. They've already got Dishonored in the works as a new property, and they're probably going to work on popular IPs for now so that
A. They won't end up in the hole and
B. So that they won't alienate their fans by neglecting their properties like what some companies (which I shall not name) are guilty of.

But since Dawnguard could refer to anything (including Fallout and new IPs), I don't really know what it will be.

I wanna throw a bit of a curve ball I here just for people's opinion...

What if the patent 'Dawnguard' is for the next installment the Elder Scrolls series (TES VI)??.

I read recently in a news article that Bethesda were looking to recruit new talent from the gaming industry for a project on microsoft's new Next-Gen console. Given that the 'patent/trademark' for Skyrim was filed a good few years ago just after oblivion was done its plausible that Dawnguard 'could' be the name for the next Elder Scrolls title.

Also given the time it took to develop skyrim it's safe to assume that much of the concept work in terms of storylines etc for any skyrim DLC will be done including patents and trademarks... Just my theory, don't flame me lol :)

Wasn't it suggested before the game's release that the first DLC will be a timed Xbox exclusive? I guess this will be it. Unfortunate for those of us on PC and PS3 that we have to wait to play it.

Vampire Related, Dawnguard will be a faction like the silver hand which hunts down vampires leading to the Volkhar (however you spell it) like the civil war you can choose a side, thats my prediction providing the name holds truth.
Meh, it should be vampire vs vampire. Order(Sanguinare) vs Volkihar.

On PC you can forget the little delay with MODs. And yes, the first two DLCs are supposed to be timed exclusives (Xbox users get them one month in advance).
