New Skyrim DLC is probably called 'Dawnguard'

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 9:52 am

of all places that already exists in the TES world, why name a game after an unknown place?
I think you are wrong

Why are you assuming that Dawnguard is the name of a place..?

the Dawnguard could be some special forces unit in the Aldmeri Dominion.

You have to figure that the DLC is coming out in 30 days or so. Maybe longer, it could be 60 days. However, those filings were dated just last week. I would think that Bethesda would have secured rights to a name on something they intended to publish in the near future much earlier.

It might be for a later DLC or another game that they are working on, but I doubt it will be the first DLC for Skyrim.

It's probably relating to Azura and Mehrunes Dagon gettin' it on, and Dawnguard is the resulting Cult...

There is nothing but speculation here. It could be a code name for a project, or be something for any number of games that Bethesda own/is working on/has out.

Just wait until Bethesda announces something.

Ya im thinking Azura as well here. Bethesda usually implements some kind of god in their Main quests and DLCs. Although Zenimax covers soooooo many other publishers and developers so idk what to think here maybe more confirmation idk.

For all we know, it could be The Elder Scrolls VI

But at the moment, we don't even know if this relates to The Elder Scrolls in the first place. It's possible, and I'm hoping for it, since I'm always excited for new Elder Scrolls.

Idk about 30 or even 60 days. if you look at this review taken on feb 17th, on the last paragraph Todd stated that the dlc is very early in development. My thought that the DLC wouldve been released in May just got pushed back to November. Past DLCs like Bloodmoon and Shivering Isles took a year to make. However are they going to do the large stuff or small stuff first thats the question?

Bloodmoon takes place on Solstheim, Tribunal in Mournhold, Fighters Stronghold in Battlehorn Castle, Knights of the Nine in Cyrodiil in general, Vile Lair ni Deepscorn Hollow, the Wizards Tower in Frostcrag Spire, Mehrunes Razor in Sundercliff and Thieves Den in Dunbarrow Cove. Only the Shivering Isles shares the name of the place it is set.

AZURA?
Sorry, my head is boilng with ideas right now.

I was seeing the best question as "Dawn of what?", but a DLC surrounding Azura automatically holds promise.

Knights of the Nine? Bloodmoon? Tribunal?

The only one that was named after a place is Shivering Isles...

EDIT: Ninja'd.

Oh, that's ironic. What about TESIII: Bloodmoon, TESIII: Tribunal and TES:IV Knights of the Nine?

Those were all DLCs and plugins...

What I think it will be - A battle with the Thalmor/Rebuilding Morrowind/A visit to a Daedric realm/The return of Vivec/Landfall/An explanation for the CoW questline.

What it will actually be - Look out, the Evil God Thing is trying to blow up Skyrim! But you have to recover the magic Sword of King Nord, the Nord's greatest hero who they named themselves after (we just never mentioned that before), and save the day because your a real hero! YEAH!

Maryland, they have offices in Bethesda, hence the name. Zenimax is in Rockvale Maryland.

However, most companies incorporate in Delaware as they have laws that are beneficial to corporations, but it does not mean they have to operate any business units in that state. Just have a mailing address there.

DLCs usually start coming out 6 months after initial release, that would be 60 or so days from now. This based on FO3, Oblivion and New Vegas. Bloodmoon and Shivering Isles were Expansions, practically full games on their own. Well, Shivering Isles was certainly like a stand alone. I do know they said the DLCs would be more substantial, but would that apply to all of them?

Todd said that they were doing both small and huge dlc, the huge dlc would be around 20-40 hours of gameplay.
