I'm just glad that the Giants denied Ochocino his ring.

Didn't the Pats cut someone a day before the Super Bowl? I bet he is glad his team lost

Sam Bradford hasn't had any great seasons. Of course, the Rams don't really have any weapons for him either.

True, they need someone good. They can't afford it though, they are overpaying half the team. Sam Bradford's rookie year wasn't bad. I'm fairly sure he won Rookie of The Year in 2010. Sam Bradford might also be getting paid to much.

Sam Bradford was the last of mega multi, multi million dollar rookie contracts. I think Cam got 22 million and Bradford's is worth up to 86 million!!!
I think it's a good idea they capped rookie contracts.

Yeah, he got the last major QB contract for a Rookie. I think he was the highest paid player in the NFL in 2010/2011. Until guys like Vick, Fitz and AP got those 100 million dollar contracts.

Loved watching the Superbowl. It's really the first time I've gotten interested in the NFL. Can't decide which team to support though, although I chose NEP for the game because I love Tom Brady. Would love to watch some more of what is quite a cool sport but we don't get much of it broadcast over here in the UK.

Why is that sad? If 100,000 people would regularly pay $100* to watch the President work he could get paid that much too.

*Along with another 100 million on TV

Same argument goes for:

Teachers
Cops
Firemen
Social Workers
Etc.

I was just using the President as a example. They shouldn't be making so much for just playing 4 hours on a Sunday.

So you think the owners should get to keep all of the 10's of billions of dollars that the league gets?

I don't understand what this has to do with corruption in America. The NFL teams earn x amount of money, all of it very fairly gained. They collectively bargained with their employees to pay them y% of $X. There is also a salary cap that prevents teams from paying too much in salaries (and also sets a minimum). It seems incredibly fair to me. I suppose you want people to stop "consuming" the NFL and other pro sports, that is the only solution. Stop going to games, stop watching them on TV, stop buying jerseys, hats, foam fingers. Maybe start a boycott on products that are made by companies that sponser the NFL. That should put a dent in the bottom line, and thus make a cut in player salaries.

Poor show of loyalty to the Colts. They could have even attempted to restructure Manning's contract to keep him on the team, or offered something to possibly keep him enticed to stay even if it's as a mentor or backup position to their obvious draft choice. Instead, see ya. Respect for the Colts organization -100 points.

I am now confused.

So I sat here reading your post like 10 times, and then going to the NFL site to figure out why you felt that way, and then it hit me.

But I still stand by how I feel, even if it's now going to be foreshadowed in some way.

Loyalty has little value in pro sports, its a business. Sure Peyton has still got game but the rest of the team doesn't and they thought it was the right thing to do. By letting him go they are giving him the opportunity to sign with a better team that has a greater potential of winning another Superbowl before the end of his career. There was no way in hell Peyton was going to come back and be the back-up to Luck as that is just a flat out insult to his ability. Colts begin the rebuild years and Peyton moves on to a more promising team, it's a win win.

On a side note I hope by some miracle the Skins sign him and one of the top tier WRs on the market this off-season. And if they don't get him the better get RGIII or somebody needs to lose their job.

I just hate how useless the Skins are. They svck so hard and Snyder is a carrot. I hope they get RG3 and actually man the hell up! Same goes for the Browns. Browns get RG3 imo.

Although I am a Vikings fan, we've svcked hard for the last 2 years. I hope Ponder works out and we draft Kalil. Can't pass up on a guy like that. I think Blackmon is overrated too. He's a 1st round guy, but no way is he top 5. That should be saved for the CJ juniors, A.j Green's of this world etc.

I think Manning to Miami will probably happen, although Manning to Houston would be better for everyone.

Matt Schaub? He's a top 10 QB when healthy. No way Houston goes big on Manning when they can't even keep Williams.

Manning to Washington is a possible fit. I think the Colts will regret this. Their fans should be outraged.
