I not a vampire fan. Not anymore at least. They were interesting 30 years ago, when Anne Rice and others started portraying them as something other than cardboard villains. But now they are so trendy that every yuppie wants to be a vampire superhero. They really jumped the shark with Twilight (or maybe it was sooner, but I really noticed then). So playing one is just meh.

What about Janus & rona hassildor? there's also sybille stentor their pretty much what i would consider "good" vampires

It's been years since I played Oblivion, but thanks for reminding me about them. I had completely forgot about the Hassildors. As for Sybille, I wasn't even aware she was a vampire.

There was vampires in Twilight!? All I saw was a bunch of fairies running around. Why else would they glisten in the sun?

I know there is a huge surge of vampire content now with the amazing Underworld series and the teenage drama that is Twilight and then the True Blood series and the Vampire Dairies and on and on. That does not mean all of the sudden everybody likes vampires sure watching some of these things or reading or whatever have recruited some new people but there have been long time fans such as myself who have always liked then and always will.

I just want the vampire bats to be explained thoroughly because there is no mention of them anywhere in the series. Maybe they are sonething that has been trapped in the Seoul Cairn maybe this is an ancient secret of the Volkihar.

I've always been a fan of Vampires and Lycanthropes. Especially the cold, malicious, vicious and brutal Nosferatu type Vampire. Romantic Vampires and supposedly centuries old Vampires acting like mortal teenagers makes me sick, i just about puke at the thought. If you're Undead and centuries old, then [censored] act like it!

Yeah they give hints about it and if you use detect dead she lights up like a lightbulb that and someone mentioned that in the creation kit her race is listed as "BretonRaceVampire"

Because being a vampire was always an option but not nessasary to my game play or any of my rp'ing I have never played one. I am more interested in playing a part in the Dawnguard, but thats not to say
that somewhere down the road i wont play a vampire for the experience.
I have the character picked out that would be playing the vampire part. As it happens I dont have my Dawnguard character picked out because none of the characters I have right now would really suite well.
I play all the questlines because I find fun in them as I am sure I ill find fun in the vampire questline even though I am not the biggest vampire fan in games.

To those who replied to me.

First: I said generally, not always. I know the good vampires out there.

Secondly: I'm talking about TES Lore. In TES, Vampires need the blood from Humanoids, last I check. Not jsut any animal's blood.

3rdly: Werewolves are Neutral and they don't attack on sight and don't attack everything. They act just like wolves and will only attack if attacked, or if they are hunting. And when they are hunting, then they most likely will get best prey and only stay on that... And normally, best prey is a mammoth and I think werewolves would rather kill a mammoth than a normal every day person. Also, werewolves come in different forms. You have 'tame' werewolves like the Companions which they can control their wolf forms and normally only use their wolf forms to hunt down their enemies. You also have 'wild' werewolves, like Sindling, who cannot control their wolf form which will end up acting like a wolf and only kill what it thinks is best prey to go after instead of what the actually person wish. Lastly, we have Blood Wolves (Bloodmoon Werewolves) that are basicly controlled by Hircine to help Hircine to do his own hunts. So in general, werewolves are Neutral and normally don't bother people unless they have a reason to do so.. That reason could be for good, evil, or just cause of their wolf side.
I'm pretty sure the sliver hand is hunting them for a reason Lol

Vampires are filthy creatures. Dawnguard has failed in thwarting my perspective.

Did they say if there was a time limit to the vamp lord form like werewolves beast form? If you can stay in that form then i might just get into it by playing as kain from legacy of kain

I'm actually looking forward to it. It seems like it might actually have a story with consequences for your actions for a change. Plus, it would be nice to play a vampire that is more than a simple annoyance.

It also adds weight to the argument that vampires in TES are not inherently evil.

Wasn't inheartly thinking about that but i suppose it does, im more or less wondering if dawnguard has a two-sides-of-the-story type of thing that justifies why the vampire side wants to blot out the sun.

I don't mind vampires, though I have no intention of playing as one. My interest in Dawnguard is mainly that it's more content, not just because it has vampires in it.

Yeah, I feel the same. I do like, though, that it feels a bit different from the main game (going by the footage we've seen and Todd Howard's comments). Ideally, each major DLC will its own unique feel, but still feel like an extension of the main game.

I've never been a huge vampire fan... in video games, movies, or books. However, I have always liked how TES series has portrayed them. And I'm looking forward to becoming one in Skyrim... first time ever.

Werewolves might be canines, but they're definitely NOT dogs.

It will be interesting to find out, that's for sure. If anything, I would have to say vampires are misunderstood, even in TES I'd say they're misunderstood by the "normal" folk.
