the smoke grenade could easily be a Soldier skill - since they can specialize in nades.

wich is exactly why anyone not fit for stealth likes it.
it gives them an edge, wich unbalances the game.

i hope it either isn't an ohk, has a terrible cooldown, or the other classes get an ability wich would give them an edge in other situations

One thing maybe you can only use while disguised. Would that make it more balanced in your mind?

any way ops are for steallthy smarter gamers

There are plenty of ways to play smart besides being stealthy. I agree that stealth is smart.

I don't know the details on smoke grenades, but there's a good chance the Soldier will have, since he can specialize in grenades.

True enough. Did we get confirmation on a fire grenade.

1. How the heck did you beat me to the punch with this? You must have started this thread before the first one got locked, since I made mine literally less than five minutes after the locking of the first thread. Weird. But whatever.

2. What about the ability to hack into and then control enemy turrets? Does that just mean that the turrets work for your team for a while, or do you actually get to be the turret, so to speak?

Simply because I am awesome.

Actually when I saw that I was at almost 200 posts I started a new one since this was my original thread. Good try though.

Hacking enemy turrets give you control. I also hope you can simply destroy it.

if there is a smoke grenade, i'd think it'll be for the soldier, they are after all focused on explosives and grenades

Oh, ok then. Preemptive strike FTW.

Anyway, I hope that if you take control of a turret you can manually release control to escape if you need to. It would svck to have your body killed while you're defenseless.

It would also be massively inconvenient to be locked into the turret when you're controlling it. Especially if the enemy team has moved onto a different area and you have no targets.

Well thats why it would make more sense for an operative. NOT that I can't see soilder having smoke grenade, but they are the "Boom Boom" guys. When you see them you should be thinking "Stuffs about to blow up". For them to move in, throw a grenade and for it to only make lots of smoke seems kinda odd. But, an operative, maybe disguised and behind enemy lines, throws one down and suddenly the nobody can see. Thats when you get shanked in the back.

Agreed but there should be a delay on detaching from it as a drawback of controlling it

They wouldnt be able to see where they were going either but I can see them using smoke grenades not like that but more for defense. Ex. Your disguied running around with the enemy and you see your opportunity to take a couple out then they are onto you so you throw a smoke grenade for cover and get out of there.

I don't see why a delay is necessary its like looking up from texting.

Smoke grenades are more for confusion and escape. Well unless you interrogate and can see their outlines. :celebration:

Not really because your hands are on a turret controlling it so going from that to dismount should be a slight delay because it would take you a second to grab your weapon to defend yourslef. texting you and looking up is different because it doesnt equate to doing one thing with your hands and having to switch to something else.

I think Operatives are already powerfull enough without adding seeing through smoke. Although I will agree as stated they cannot take on an enemies form while within the view of an enemy using a smoke grenade to obstruct the view giving you the opportunity to take on the disguise should be do able.

Where did you hear this I dindt read anything about them being able to control it remotely from a distance I thought once they hacked it they manually took control using the turret. Also even if this were true that would leave them vunerable looking through the phone controlling the turret not to mention that when hacking things wireless doesnt it give your position away which would make you a sitting duck unless you had teamates whatching your back

I dont know about that would make the Operative class useless though I agree there should be some small indications by looking at them to tell that they are a enemy operative and not a friendly. For example since they have said the gloves and there color will determine your class maybe have there gloves stay the same color people who were paying attention may catch that an engineer is wearing operatives gloves and know its a enemy operative. The tricky thing would be enemy operatives disguised and friendly operatives.

You can hack for a distance but its slower. Also it emits a loud beeping noise that can give away your position. Yes it leaves you a sitting duck, that why I hate the fact that if you want to use it you have to control it. The engineer turret is auto hence the operative hacking should be auto.

Well maybe when you hack it your malfunction the auto defensive system by shor circuiting the wiring to hack it. Who know makes things more interesting though I like it. Plus look at it this way the enemy will think it is still on there side running past it and trying to use it to there advantage then you get somewhere safe and use it to mow them down or act like you are shoot at friendlies until you get them where you want them out in the open then blast them all. So it not shooting unless you do makes things a little more tactical also adding a twist.

I imagined a turret hack being done with he iphone device, but when done the op has to squat and views through the sensor camera of the turret. Kinda like the cam missile in MW2. You would have the benefit of turning the enemies weapons against them, but at the same time at a vulnerable position.
