Operative Discussion 2

I imagined a turret hack being done with he iphone device, but when done the op has to squat and views through the sensor camera of the turret. Kinda like the cam missile in MW2. You would have the benefit of turning the enemies weapons against them, but at the same time at a vulnerable position.

exactly. the turret has its pros and cons. but it can be used remotely

This is supposed to be what happens. I'd think I rather blow it up anyway.

I really don't want to control it remotely. I just want to want to be automated.

New quote from Neil Alphonso (Lead Level Designer):

"Operatives are more of our class that goes behind enemy lines, they disguise, they sorta take out enemies that are in key positions and you can’t really call them assassins, but they have a lot of unique abilities that let them sorta approach the game more creatively.”

Even the devs say that Operatives are not ninjas....and please don't argue "assassins aren't ninjas." I'm just making a point.

Does this mean that there's a new interview out or what? Any other new information? Also I'd quite like to know what some of these unique abilities are...

What is there to say?
Soldier kills poeple and resupplies people, medic heals and revives people while engineer does story stuff and buffs guns.
He also got a sentry gun.

Whos Hating? I am merely stating the Operative has become the so to speak poster boy for Brink in all there interviews they talk about the Operative all the the "cool things" you can do as one. I simply said it would be nice if they shed more light on the other classes and there abilities as well.

Not really. What we know more about operatives since they have more varied abilities. What to medics do? Healing, buff, revive. Soldiers, blow stuff up, shield and give ammo. Engineer, build turrets, repair, lay mines, buff weapons. Operatives can disguise, interrogate etc. They have more options because they have a harder job.

Pffffft thats a load of bs and you know it. Each classes job is hard to do right be it an Engineer trying to set a defensive line or a Medic running out into a fire fight to get a downed teamate each class has its challenges and no one class has a "harder job".

Also on the note of being more varied abilities all classes have varied abilities as well its not just the Operative. They are giving typical archyetypes for class based shooters some more interactive and interesting abilities. I simply stated would be nice to hear more detail about those instead of the hyping up Operatives because thats what makes people think they are going to be the Ninja class that no one can touch. If they shed more light on the other classes people will see that they are not the answer all class and other classes will have cool abilities as well.

Its not BS, let me explain. I want to know all abilities for all the classes. All the other classes are based around teamwork. When I say hard I don't mean the other classes are easier to play, I mean it will be harder to play an effective operative. Medics, soldiers, and engineers work together all buffing and supplying each other. It easier to work in a group than alone.

The operative is the class who has to sneak behind enemy lines without the likelyhood of probably most kinds of support. I have heard plenty of medics saying that they aren't going to go and heal those idiot operatives. Going off and messing with the enemy is something I really enjoy. I know the risks and I accept them, as I have said before I see the operative as a high skill, high risk, high reward class,

Now this is not always true since they have the ability to see other operatives and can firewall operatives so they will be highly useful on defense as well.

Actually the most recent thing we heard is about the medics bioweapon or whatever.

What do we really know about the operative. Disguise, interrogation, sticky bomb, hacking, and dead fake. The death fake is the newest one but we still don't know that much as compared to the other classes.

he's just saying you hear most about the operative, and that's because the operative differs from your average spy.
but the other classes must be different too is what i think, and me and gotcha want to know what is different.

It will be just as difficult for people to play effective as a medic or any other class as it will be to play an Operative. Thats all about the gamers playstyle and skill. Some people pick up quick and can adapt to new gaming mechanics and do well while others run around like a chicken with there heads cut off not doing anything to help there team win the match or contribute.

As far as other classes buffing eachother you act like thats the extent of there abilities they will be doing alot more than that as well as each class will need to do there job in order for the team to win so every class is high risk reward class. If a medic throws a laz grenade and wastes it leaving him without Pips then that was (high risk) but same time might revive 4 teamates and turn the tide the battle (big reward), Engineer throws down a turret or mine in the wrong position or when objectives are about to change ( high risk) or get them positioned perfectly and helps push back the enemy (high reward), Operatives sneaking behind enemy lines and get caught(high risk) or fools everyone and gets withing the ranks and waits for an opening to change the tide of battle (big reward).

We know they can: Disguise, interrogation, sticky bomb, hacking, and dead fake, backstab. Thats more details then information on any other class we know not to mention the have kind of gone into detail how some these abilities will work ex. hacking engineer turrets taking them over as well as the hacking mechanic and how you can hack wireless but is slower and displays your position.

It would be nice to have more details on every class and the mechanics of the abilities ect. I simple stated I would like to see more information about other classes before they release more on the Operative because there is a decent amount that has been released.

Anyways the game is still pretty far out I am sure there will be alot more information released on all the classes mechanics and abilities before release. Atleast I hope. Would be nice to find out specifics for some the abilities and classes.

Thanks you get what I am saying every class in Brink is differs from the normal ones you see in other games and we would like to hear more about those as well.
