I'm happy to see these fixes, but...no fix for A Cornered Rat?!

Agreed! I'm on the X360 version, and it seems to me that there is no point in playing the game while the main quest is broken, because any potential "fix" might require going back to a previous save before A Cornered Rat would have triggered.

Unless "Fixed issue where leaving Riften during “A Chance Arrangement” would prevent quest from progressing" covers A Cornered Rat as well? From what I've read, they may be related.

But if the main quest is still broken, that will be REALLY surprising.

Is the low sound bug with stereo setups fixed?

Nope, and there's no indication that they realize there's a problem.

I just hope that if 1.4 doesn't fix necromancy (dead thralls), 1.5 surely does. As is, if a person isn't so totally committed to necromancy, it's virtually unplayable. A thrall is suppose to be permanent, not occasionally permanent/semi-permanent depending on who your thrall is and where you got them.

Necromancers need love too.

What exactly was the problem with that quest? I've done it several times without problems, but I've heard that a lot of people have had issues. I'm probably just lucky that I didn't run into that particular issue.

The glitch occurs if your progress in the main quest coincides with Blood on the Ice. It's when you're negotiating with the Imperials and Stormcloaks about the meeting at High Hrothgar. You can't finish Blood on the Ice and can't progress in the MQ beyond convincing Ulrich to meet the Imperials.

Yikes! I can see how that would make a person get more than a little upset.

  • Fixed issue where dragon priest masks would not render correctly
  • Fixed issue where quests would incorrectly progress after reloading a save
  • Fixed issues with placing and removing books from bookshelves in the player’s home
  • Fixed issue where weapon racks and plaques would not work correctly in player’s house if player immediately visits their house before purchasing any furnishing.
  • Fixed issue where the player house in Windhelm would not clean up properly
  • Fixed crash related to giant attacks and absorb spells
  • Fixed issue with ash piles not cleaning up properly
  • Fixed occasional issue where overwriting an existing save would fail
  • Fixed memory crash with container menu
  • Fixed infinite loop with bookshelves

I love you forever Bethesda. Just please make it so that I don't have to use Steam Workshop. I'd much rather stick to Skyrim Nexus. Besides, I don't trust the Workshop to install the heavy quest mods or overhauls.

Seriously though, Bethesda - Will there be a fix for the bug in which Esbern has no voice and doesn't open the door? It's made it impossible for me to advance the main quest.

At this point I just need better native UI support for extreme resolutions and I'm a happy camper. This is the only game engine where such support actually got worse instead of better. It was great with Oblivion, quite reasonable with FO3, took a skilled hand in the ini files for NV but is actually unfixable without process hacking in Skyrim due to how it was redone.

unrelated but Besthesda had 3 years to make skyrim not 5, after oblivion they developed and made Fallout 3. Of course they could have started skyrim near the end of fallout 3 development which would be around 3.5 years.

As for the patch notes, i'm sure some problems eventually will be looked at and fixed after some time or the next update. It's sad there's no fix for the Blood and Ice Strange Amulet if you didn't know how to get the guy to buy it off you without reloading save prior to picking it up.

Wait, there is a meeting between the imperials and stormcloaks?! I beat the main story line and never had to do this.....do you have to not do ANYTHING in the civil war for this to happen?

It has been replaced by a ear cracking loud sound bug. Or maybe not, maybe they are now both bugs at the same time.

What can I say - it is always better to play original
No offense but you are being silly here. I do play on english but the game is still locked to russian region which makes it a russian version controlled by 1C and I'm gonna be very angry if 1C will delay the patch.

Well this patch has completely fixed my location and random CTD issues which was the only thing I was concerned about. Huzzah!

Knowing its still a beta I have noticed one or two bugs occur that I think you should know about.

1: Frostweb Spiders sometimes act crab like and shoot their goo at me from their sides before facing me and resuming combat as normal
2: Weapon Rack in basemant of Proudspire will eat the weapon placed there (cant remove it and can stack multiple weapons on top of each other) as well as leave that weapon in my hand and can still be used (although doesn't show up in inventory). The skin of this weapon also stays when equipping a new weapon and both skins overlap each other.

Will post some more if I find any. :)

Bodies disappearing when unthralled isn't the main problem with Necromancy, it's the ash piles bloathing your saves, increasing loading times, glitching respawns, looking ugly, and generally being a scar on your save. Patch 1.4 will hopefully fix that as the changelog suggests.

That happens to me with 1.3 patch.

Fixed issue where transforming back to human from werewolf would occasionally not fail

You mean that every time we transform back to human will now crash the game... EPIC! :stare:
