Patch 1.4 Unoffical Thread #3 With Changelog!

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 6:10 pm

Can someone who has patched to the 1.4 beta please try an recharge a staff using the default "T" key and post results here please, for some reason mine has stopped working - thanks in advance.

Mine works. I did not recharge a staff, but all my other weapons recharged just fine.

Not liking what I'm hearing about the patch in the BETA, which is apparently getting mixed views.

Just want a working ps3 game that I paid good money for!

I've been stucked on triggering the quest "Blood on the Ice". I thought 1.4 would fix this problem but apparently my problem is either still glitched or it's working as intended.

I completed the Dark Brotherhood quest line and thus killed Nilsine Shatter-Shield, triggered the death by suicide of Tova Shatter-Shield. Now, the quest of fore-mentioned wont even start. I've tried everything, including console commands and entering/leaving Windhelm 15 times.

When I typed in "sqv MS11PreEssentializing", the trigger is enabled and running...
but the result with "sqv MS11Kicker" is the opposite, Disabled and Stopped.
::EnterWindhelmCount_var = MS11EnterWIndhelmCount (000BAC25)
::FollowupStartDay_var = MS11FollowUpStartDay (0010EA4A)
::GameDaysPassed_var = GameDaysPassed (00000039)
::Gamehour_var = GameHour (00000038)
::MS11_var = MS11 (0001F7A3)
- 0 Aliases for quest MS11Kicker (000BAC24) -
--- Quest State --------------------------------------
Enabled? No
State: Stopped
Current Stage: 0
Priority: 0

Is this normal?

So is the 1.4 patch a limited-release beta, that only some people have?

Yes, only a privileged few of us get to use it! :bunny:
Well, no, if you so chose you can patch your game with it through Steam.
Check out Bethesdas' blog for all the info http://www.bethblog.com/

Soooo...is it out yet? :devil:

Beta patch is out on steam.

Has one bug I am really not liking. My hours are generally late, when at least two others in the house are sleeping. With 1.4 beta, opening the map and/or using a loading screen (door, travel etc) often, but not always, generates a very loud static noise. Like a waterfall at maxed out volume. With the map if I zoom all the way out it will stop. Loading screens it is less prevalent, yet unstoppable till the load is done.

I hope this is fixed with the final version of the patch.

As a note, when patches come out, I delete local content, delete the contents remaining in the steam Skyrim folder and re-install clean, then re-add the few mods I use.

I have noticed one thing is much better. I was having to quit and restart the Skyrim client every few times I went indoors. It was random, sometimes just going in my house and out would do it, other times I could enter and leave doors a number of times, but in the end going outside would drop my frame-rate from near 60 (outside) to less then 5, with the only fix being to save and reload the game.

They do need to fix Lydia. I shouldn't have to hack the game so that my character can marry an NPC that was designed to be married.

I agree it's odd, seing as she's the first character we get any real connection with in the game, living together, going on adventures etc in the early game.
You'd think that they'd be on it asap to get her marriage status fixed. (if not, day 1 of the CK release should take care of that :bunny: )

Being that there is no mention of the Louis Letritch duplication glitch... I can only hope that they plan on making more fixes later on.
(warning: link will have spoilers): http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Louis_Letrush

--------------------------
From the link:
After completion of the quest http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Promises_to_Keep, Louis Letrush can on occasion be found duplicated near the http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Whiterun_Stables and running about in the general area between Whiterun and Dustmans Cairn - amusingly, without his horse. Louis will duplicate numerous times as you continue to progress, sometimes being stuck in the ground. Although permanent, this bug has no known, negative effects except for it being highly annoying at times. (Confirmed, PS3, 360, and PC)
---------------------------

I have that glitch on my first character; currently playing a second one and have been avoiding going to Riften, for now...

I read somewhere that Season Unending can't continue if you have the crown and not willing to hand it over to either side. Will this be fixed?
I have the crown, not yet at Season Unending but willing to keep the krown till after I finish MQ.
Thanks

What reviews are you reading? The patch is fixing the issues that it was designed to fix, performance and stability. Which, if they work the same for the PS3, those players will be very happy. I no longer have to run third party mods for stability and performance.

1.4 is not the last patch for this game, they are working on the next one while finalizing this one.

For all of those thinking the game is rock solid and not having CTD issues, I used to be just like you. I was really pleased at how stable the game was compared to Fallout 3.

So, I was in no hurry to finish the game, did lots of side quests and explored a lot. Now I've been playing for 476 hours and my save games are now 20mb each, and the game is unplayable. I can't go into most places without a CTD, and can't move more than a few feet outside without a CTD.

I didn't play Oblivion, so I wasn't expecting this. I guess I should have finished the main quest by now, but I didn't know I had a time or save game size limit. I'm very disappointed in this. And the fact that Bethesda doesn't acknowledge the problem is even more disturbing.

I'm not sure if it's more time spent playing the game, or save game size that triggers it. I just know that once it starts, you can't fix it, and you won't be able to finish the game. I put in so much time creating, customizing and equiping my character that I really don't want to create another character just to see how the main quest turns out. I haven't been able to play for about a week now, hoping that a fix would be found.

Has anyone else played over 400 hours and have save games over 20mb, without problems?
