Patch #1 Unofficial bugfix

Post » Sun May 27, 2012 2:17 pm

Boris, is there anything you can do about the foliage stretching problem some of us are having? There are cetain fixes for it but they dont work for everyone (including me). The ini tweaks make it's occurance a bit more rare but as for the modded drivers, I cant use them since my card is on legacy drivers. Could you look into this, please?

I installed your patch and even the 4GB fix, still black screening and hard rebooting :(
I've tried EVERYTHING [censored] IT :(

System Specs -
Intel Q9450 CPU
Asus Striker II Extreme Motherboard
2x GTX 260 (SLi disabled)
6gb DDR 3 Ram
10,000k RPM HDD
Windows 7 32bit Home Ed.

The 4GB fix won't do anything under 32-bit Windows. You need 64-bit Windows in order for that to make any difference (and don't ask about the /3GB flag because the potential problems that it causes outweigh any benefit you might get.)

I recommend upgrading to 64-bit Windows 7. Having 6 gigabytes of RAM is pointless with a 32-bit operating system since, at best, you can use 3.5GB of it. And with 2 video cards, I would suspect that it would end up being much lower (you only have so much address space and the video card memory takes up part of that address space).

This patch is working great for me. (ATI 5770) Thanks for the work! Cheers! Much less jerkiness while running and I see some textures I didn't see before. :celebration:

Hi i am a little confused of how to apply this patch. do i just copy the files from the download to the skyrim steam app folder?
Also can i use this along with the 4Gb.exe. Also when applying this patch should there be anything I should change to my system?
I placed the patch in the game folder but I got worse perfomance...please help

This is my first post here and I just seen this. I used an ENB patch closer to release and had issues. I assume at this point at patch 5, things are the way they should be? And is this particular "fix" a fix or an enhancer like the FXAA injector? Last time I messed with ENB, it left my sD3Device named as ENB and I couldn't figure it out for a while until I sorted it in SkyrimPrefs. I'm running a thread on NeoGAF and will probably amend this into the thread if it's a viable fix that reduces stuttering.

ENBSeries,
Just watched the new screenshots on your website, and though I realize it's a work-in-progress, I want to provide some feedback.
While I enjoy the graphics improvements, I do not enjoy that the oversaturated colors make it look like the game takes place in the middle of the summer.
Winters here in scandinavia are grey, dark, desaturated and full of haze and fog and I can't imagine the winters in Russia being any different.
That's what I want Skyrim to look like but ENBSeries and FXAA Injector seems to go in the totally different direction, turning Skyrim into a colorful warm spring.

Dude, ENB has nothing to do with FXAA, if you don't like the colors don't use FXAA, simple and you get the benefits of ENB all the same.

So why are you ranting if you can disable the colors which seems to be the point you dislike?

I have no idea what exactly conflict with SingleCore setting. But if you are using single core pc, then you don't need that preset to turn on (in theory), strange.

peber11
Speedhack parameter is from Deusix Human Revolution version of the mod, it boost fps twice on many pc (don't see any changes on my system with it), so i decided to keep it, may be on some hardware it will work.

OffBlast
I can't find what that stretching problem is, because i don't have it. In most cases i fixing bugs just because know what could be wrong, but with this one, out of ideas.

c3141bsf
After 4 Gb patch game could be unstable, only developers can say if they are using some specific math with memory pointers, but i'm afraid that Skyrim have no future at this moment, if not to decrease memory usage. 1.8 gb for 2 gb application is dangerous value, memory fragmentation on x64 systems for 32-bit software is horrible, so without patch LARGE ADRESS AWARE every user of 64 bit OS will have more frequent crashes (at least now, with game version 1.1).

Zedman
Copy d3d9.dll and enbpatch.ini to game folder, where TESV5.exe located, then run game launcher and reconfigure video options.

Ok: heres a strange issue thats been driving me crazy for awhile now.
The multisampling is not blending when grass is overlapping over water.
You can see the blocky transparent area around the grass totally nerfs the water shader

http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197974784697/screenshot/595829056159809575?tab=public

I've tried various setting combos trying to fix to no avail w/ both with game & card settings but the answer was lying in my render info all the time:
Spoiler
Renderer Device Information:
ENB
d3d9.dll
RenderPath : BSSM_SV_3_0
PSversion : 300
VSversion : 300
VStarget : vs_3_0
PStarget : ps_3_0
PS2xtarget : ps_3_0
maxPS20inst : 512
3.0 Support : yes
3.0 Lighting : yes
Nonpowerof2textures : yes
FP16ARGB blending : yes
FP16ARGB filtering : no
Bloom lighting : no
Refraction : yes
2.0 hairw : yes
SLI mode : no
NVapi enabled : no
Multisample Type : 1
Transparency MS : no
HW Thread Count : 4
Multisample setting [1] is not supported with the current device settings.

The last line "Multisample setting [1] is not supported with the current device settings" is what i now think is causing this
Any idea why ENB would be causing this? Any solutions?

Not sure, the bug is unknown for me, try it (this behavior is like no available memory error, but it could be bypassed just by changing quality video options to lowest). You have nothing to loose and this patch do not corrupt anything in game files or saves.

I don't have such bug. Is that some kind of grass only or even all objects like grass (most of plants) have this issue? It's alpha testing error, not works in some reason, but it supported by any hardware, even Intel gpu. May be something wrong with forced antialiasing or transparensity antialiasing in videodrivers control panel?

It's pretty much all foliage with a transparency. Any water behind the grass is nerfed so you really only get it when on river banks and the shore.
I didn't notice it until after the steam patch which destroyed my original ini settings - i've spent many hours testing several setting combinations including video card control settings but haven't found a fix for it yet.
It's strange that i'm getting that error warning in the renderer info though.

I'm going to start over with everything off & turn them on one by one, both in game & on card & will report back.

Hi Boris, i had the no fire\frost\webs\fog\etc effects so i tried your patch, but now i cant even enter in-game, after the first loading screen after the main menu the game just craches, cant even enter the game with your patch :/

I have the problematic ati hd3400 series (cant even upgrade the graphic driver cause ati says my toshiba hardware sticks).

Also, since my graphic hardware is so weak im using windowed mode, 1024x640, no AA, no AF all low.
I've been playing the game decently tho, i just get low frame rates with this settings when alot of [censored] is happening (for exemple in the end of the main quest where 10+ dragons are flying around you or when a dragon dies).

edit: guess i forgot the 'license' txt files from the pack. It works now!! =) and i can see my fire\ice spells now, thanks alot =) keep doing your wizardry!

Not sure, may be. Just try it, nothing changes in game files.

I have an idea, perhaps it's alpha clearing not works and/or back to front sorting between water and transparent objects. I know where clearing happens, but why it doesn't work on your pc??? One another bug i'm afraid can't fix without having it by myself. Post somewhere you ini files, may be i'll see the same with them.

Hi. I don't think your videocard is bad, at least it's features are same as 2xxx or 4xxx radeon series. The best drivers in your case are latest catalyst version from previous generations, f.e. if current is 11.11, then try 10.11(12,13 or what was the last) and 9.12(same here). Such versions was developed for videocard like yours and have (in most cases) less bugs than new, i'm using same trick for both ATI and NVidia cards to fix BSODs and various crashes and graphical bugs.
Why the game crashes when using patch:
1) Steam version and steam client downloaded fake "update" of the game, which is actualy same game executable, but crypted. Disable automatic updates and get original game files (tesv.exe and may be skyrimlauncher.exe).
2) You need to reconfigure game in video options after "installing" my patch.
3) Try different options in enbpatch.ini (or enbseries.ini in pre #5 patches)

bcs, I'm using the 280.26 driver and everything works great.
The 290 driver that enables ambient occlusion in Skyrim just came out but I'm going to wait for others to test it out first.

Thanks a million for this fix. Fire and magical effects were not rendering, and this made the world right again!

I've enjoyed using your ENBseries for Mount and Blade, and now I enjoy using it for Skyrim. Thanks again. :D

shame it isnt compatible with msi afterburner, i need to run that to keep the core voltage of my card at a certain level or it gives artifacts.

however, i dont actually get any of the issues reported (invisible flames or spiderwebs etc) so i guess i aint missing much.
