Patch #1 Unofficial bugfix

Post » Sun May 27, 2012 5:50 am

i'll see if i can have a go with this one tonight. ive got i5 2500k, 8gb ddr3 RAM and two HD 5770 1gb in CF.
i get quite bad FPS even if i put the graphics down, so i hope this could help.

i mean, i play BF3 on medium/high at 60fps and high/ultra at 40-60fps.
so this game SHOULD run smoother than it does for me.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

The game looks much better, and the patch works with no problems at all.

The v.3 patch cured my random crashing to a black screen. A huge thank you as I am finally able to enjoy uninterrupted gameplay.

EDIT: Text deleted in regard to an error that was not related to this patch

Sorry to hear that. But i can't help much here, because xbox360 pad using different API (my knowledge is limited by dinput only), so don't know what is wrong.

Patch is updated to #4. Almost sam as #3, but with optimization, as users noticed about lower performance with it. Hope that's enough.

The problem had nothing to do with the patch!!. I was mistakenly using a 360 controller that was synced with a 360 as opposed to my pc. I have now played for 5 hours straight post patch and have not had a crash of any kind. My humblest thanks.

Thank you very much for this, the latest patch has managed to fix the regular Bluescreen errors I was having with my 6870. I suspect that Skyrim is throwing out some kind of exception which cause the driver to crash, but your patch is acting as a buffer to catch this error before it crashes the driver. I've been playing now for two hours without a hiccup, when before I'd crash in five minutes.

Again, thanks very much!

Is this easy to install/uninstall? It sounds promising and I have a mountain lod flicker bug I can't get rid of.

As i have no crashes or freezes to think of, i still wanted to try this to see if texture flickering or general performance issues were addressed. From what i can see, this d3d9.dll fix hindered my game performance.

I cleared the SkyrimPref to allow the game to start a new one, added the d3d and enbseries, started up the launcher, accepted the settings it defaulted to and started up the game. No change so far. If anything, after applying this, my GPU maxed out at 99%-100% no matter where i was or what was on screen, and my FPS suffered because of it :(

But hey if its enabling people to experience this great game and fixing the CTDs, then great work ENB!

Tempted to try these patches for the PC version of the game I have, I've been holding off because I thought by now Bethesda would have released an official one!
Wish they'd release a small hot fix to fix the crashes and then work on the bugs/quests etc later :|

If I install this patch do you think it might have any conflicts with the official one (if it ever comes out)?

Patch V.4 causes sound to halt then a hard lock. Never had issues before using it, removing it fixes it as well =/ Shame too, seemed to help my fps quite a bit, though 4096 shadows freeze plant animations.

Sorry to hear that, but the patch is only for users who have problems, so not expect miracles from it.

LordSoth
We all know that official patches are the best (except some games, like Deus Ex HR or GTA4), but how can you wait to play long awaited game? Ha-ha, you know what i mean.
About conflicts with official patch, perhaps not. There is nothing horrible, it's do not modify game itself. Also you can remove it easily.

Try to "play" with variables under [FIX] category in enbseries.ini config file, this might help with sound.

Sorry, i don't understand. Do you mean "ENB" adapter instead of videocard? But if you see it in the list (that's right), then it's ok. Or is that error message and game won't start?

V4 is even better!!! - Even the load screens are faster now since I set it to optimize for singlecore.
Didn't see much difference playing with IgnoreThreadManagement & IgnoreThreadPriority though.
Which is the recommended settings for single cores?

Strange, are you sure that patch installed properly? In the patch #4 one more parameter added to fix graphics separately, if it's disabled, then real videocard name will appear.

smokeringhalo
Perhaps for all games better to set IgnoreThreadPriority=true, it solve many different bugs in multithreaded games, mouse lagging or sound stuttering fixed in most cases. IgnoreThreadManagement is also nice trick, but some games may run faster if set false, depends from developers "hand driver" installed.

I'm experiencing minor (but annoying) freezes roughly every 15min. So i gave ENB a try and thus far it seems to work BUT there seems to be something messing with the interior cells. I'll keep it simple:

ENB on -> major stuttering inside 'High Hrothgar'
ENB off -> no stuttering

havn't checked on other interiors yet but i'm pretty sure it'll be present there too.

EDIT: similar - if not the exact same - effects occure when using the compatibility workaround using Win98 and manually enabling multi-cores. it appears to actually be framedropping (stable framerate but frames are being skipped over) and seems limited to interiors.
