Here's an idea:

We all go on Twitter and keep asking about it at least once a day until they finally say SOMETHING.

I'm upset by the fact they aren't giving any communication what-so-ever, even though the limit is over and they have no reason to delay for the pc/ps3 after patch 1.7 comes out.

They're responsible for its development timetable. Not the release timetable. When Bethesda releases it is up to the marketing guys. Also I seem to recall that the patch delay was a problem with Sony, though I could be wrong on that one.

You're saying that developers finish the DLC and then the marketing department decides to just sit on it? I really don't think so. It doesn't make any business sense to put off making money. And how could the 1.6 patch be a problem but the 1.7 patch not be?

So, let's see if I can get this straight. Bethesda releases Skyrim on the PS3 completely buggy as hell and claimed it was exactly the same version as the 360 when it wasn't. They allowed themselves to be bought by MS where it pertained to DLC and segmented their fan base between 360 and PS3/PC when it was essentially the PC userbase that made them what they are today. Now, as if that wasn't enough, the PS3 userbase not only does not receive patch 1.6 like the 360 did, but we also have to wait longer than the one month promised for DLC with no release date even hinted at and the likelihood that it too will be a buggy mess. We can also assume that Bethesda will take no accountability for this and instead blame the PS3 as a platform or technical issues. Why does anyone still buy games from this increasingly irrelevant developer?

It wasn't just the PS3 that was buggy, my Xbox version started off fine then went to hell in a hand basket after consecutive updates, so much so that I gave up playing after 1.3 I think, I decided to try playing again when 1.5 came out and it worked pretty well 'till 1.6 which turned it into a crashing, freezing nightmare! So much so I bought it on PC where I finally got to see the great game it is, and should be on all platforms. All I can say is I'm glad I didn't buy it on PS3 as you guys got hit the hardest all round.

Bethesda make some really great games, no other developers come close to them in what they try to achieve, lately though they are making really bad decisions regarding the state of games they're releasing and the way in which they're treating their fan base. I'll certainly not be pre-ordering the next game they release, I'll be sifting through their forums for problems before making a decision.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. Dawnguard's been done for a long time now. Hell, the only reason people haven't used the xbox version on the PC is because converting the ddx files to dds would take ages. They've been sitting on it due to the timed exclusivity deal.

Because as much as I'm disgusted with Bethesda as a company, the games are just that good. The developers themselves are awesome and I love them to pieces. Now if only I could give the money from my purchases directly to them without supporting the rest of the company.

Yeah, a kickstarter project with the core Beth devs would be an awesome thing indeed. Imagine if all they had to do was just make the game, without impediment from all the corporate garbage, and they could feed it directly to the fans who love them so much. Imagine if they could return to the ethic that was responsible for Daggerfall and Morrowind, where the focus was on outlandish adventures, deep character development and world interaction...And not on marginalizing capital, keeping investors in power, and streamlining everything for the market.

Oh well. While we're on topic though, have you guys seen the new Wasteland 2 screens?

You really think Beth would do this an alienate the PS3/PC players, thus losing money?

Not a chance. You guys will get it eventually

They don't have any reason to delay it now except for patch 1.7, which if they got their stuff together they would have had it out today.

It's the getting it "eventually" part after waiting 30 days already that's the problem.

It's like the first couple Fallout games. I know there was a Wasteland 1, but this looks more like them.

It's fully possible that the 30 day exclusivity deal includes the 30th day, in which case we might get news tomorrow. However if that's not the case, I'd chalk it up to marketers overthinking things and being idiots as usual.

Oh I wasn't trying to imply that there were no bugs on the other versions, just stating the well known fact that the PS3 version is the absolute worst.

At least today an announcement about it should have been made. Instead we were essentially told it's not coming to other platforms even if they didn't directly say that. But then why state there is a 30 exclusivity deal if it's not coming to other platforms, and why then delay the release with not even so much as a hint about a release?

What is that? RTS?

A new cRPG powered by some of the minds who basically started it all.
http://wasteland.inxile-entertainment.com/

Check it out, read up on it a little. This is basically what Fallout was supposed to be, but never was because the publishers didn't want to green light it. Through kickstarter they've been able to get the project going though, over a decade after everyone thought it was a dead franchise.

Basically, they're my heroes.

The way bethesda develops their DLC, the 360 and PC versions are pretty much identical with the exception of the ddx/s files and the .nifs being slightly different. Bethesda obviously has the tools for converting these that the public doesn't. The PC version was pretty much done at the same time as the 360 version. I know little about the PS3 version though.
