So, let's see if I can get this straight. Bethesda releases Skyrim on the PS3 completely buggy as hell and claimed it was exactly the same version as the 360 when it wasn't. They allowed themselves to be bought by MS where it pertained to DLC and segmented their fan base between 360 and PS3/PC when it was essentially the PC userbase that made them what they are today. Now, as if that wasn't enough, the PS3 userbase not only does not receive patch 1.6 like the 360 did, but we also have to wait longer than the one month promised for DLC with no release date even hinted at and the likelihood that it too will be a buggy mess. We can also assume that Bethesda will take no accountability for this and instead blame the PS3 as a platform or technical issues. Why does anyone still buy games from this increasingly irrelevant developer?
It wasn't just the PS3 that was buggy, my Xbox version started off fine then went to hell in a hand basket after consecutive updates, so much so that I gave up playing after 1.3 I think, I decided to try playing again when 1.5 came out and it worked pretty well 'till 1.6 which turned it into a crashing, freezing nightmare! So much so I bought it on PC where I finally got to see the great game it is, and should be on all platforms. All I can say is I'm glad I didn't buy it on PS3 as you guys got hit the hardest all round.
Bethesda make some really great games, no other developers come close to them in what they try to achieve, lately though they are making really bad decisions regarding the state of games they're releasing and the way in which they're treating their fan base. I'll certainly not be pre-ordering the next game they release, I'll be sifting through their forums for problems before making a decision.
