PCPS3 Release date, Part 5

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 11:49 pm

Why would the PS store go down just for Dawnguard? lol

It went down because that's what it does.

Updates. They sometimes shut it down when they add stuff.

i find it impossible to believe they have no idea about a release date. the fake ignorance just exacerbates the image of their incompetence and deception.

what would have been actually helpful, would be to inform us of the process. x and x has to happen first, then x, then we can release patch/dlc.

whatever criticism one wants to give FNV, community interaction is not one of them. Avellone and Sawyer (the two lead devs) and Bergman (producer and beth watchdog) all routinely visited the forums and informed the fans of exactly what was going on. they even went the extra mile and explained the reasons for the decisions (about everything from game balance to cut content). even when lonesome road was delayed, Bergman said it was delayed because of forces beyond their control, and also said he wasn't at liberty to speak in depth about it. the community accepted and respected their involvement. and most certainly the accusations now being slung at beth, were never attributed to the FNV team.

community interaction like the FNV team, contrary to what beth thinks, builds the fan base, earns respect, and keeps in community bickering minimal. beth's behavior seems to promote the opposite.

psn is down for today, but only if you weren't signed in before the maintenance started. even then, it seems, some are still able to sign in. it is not connected to DG or the patch. did you not read what Gstaff just said?

seriously the complete silence is baffling especially since ive seen game companies be active in their own forums and seen how positive it is for the games.

Maybe is was more than 30 day exclusive. It's still unfair.

Perhaps, Bethesda was not allowed to make arrangements with other companies regarding the release of Dawnguard to the other platforms during the contract. Now, they are probably getting in touch with Sony and Steam about a date in which they can release it. If so, then Bethesda really did mean that they have no scheduled date for the release yet.

Ok so it seems fairly obvious (to me) that 1.7 is integral to the Dawnguard release on PC and PS3 (more-so for the latter, though 1.7 could be integral to numerous undocumented Dawnguard fixes for issues that came up in the Xbox version), and that the 1.7 beta is not a fixed period beta (meaning no set date to when the beta closes and the patch is fully live).

In addition there may also be Sony certification delays (1.7 & Dawnguard will both need certified before public release).

What disappoints me is that we aren't being told this specifically, instead we get the exact same line they used in reference to PC and PS3 pre-Xbox release. Bethesda should be more transparent on this issue, it would cut fan grief down significantly.

Edit: Stormwinds is very probably right too, the exclusivity contract will have legally prevented them from doing pre-work as well (which is something I brought up back at the start of this mess).

Aye, also, it's probably company policy to not talk about internal things like this, hence the annoying silence. Blame Zenimax, but then again, most companies work this way.

If it dosn't come out soon I'm not going to buy it.

Not because I'm hating on Bethesda.....but because summers almost over and those of us who go to high school or college won't have as much time to play video games.

I mean I'll still play video games during the school year, but Skyrim is a really time svcking game and I won't have that much time to play Skyrim during the school year.

So unless they release this in the earlier parts of the month I'll have no reason to but it.

I'll still buy it eventually when I have more time, like during Xmas vaction or next summer.

I guess it dosn't hurt Bethesda because there getting my money in the end. But if they don't release soon it'll be months before they get my 20$

And has others said there will be other games throughout the year, maybe if Bethesda waits too long I'll be playing diffrent games and will skip DG>

I probably won't because I'm a dedicated TES fan and would buy an expansion for Morrowind if it came out today.

But not evreyone is as dedicated a fan as me, if they take too long the fans with shorter attention spans will forget about the DLC.

I suspect that they are worried about Dawnguard conflicting with player mods. Dawnguard has many bugs already, which may clash with player made mods. Bethesda and Steam probably wouldn't want their helpdesk crowded with "why doesn't my Dawnguard work" questions as a result from people having mods installed that cause the game to act funny.

Oh my god. People wanted to hear something, something was said, now it wasn't good enough. What a crowd.

This is disgusting. And I'm not talking about Gstaff's post either.

Bethesdas not responsable for what mods are compatable with there Mod.

They arn't going to be able to change the fact mods may conflict with there mod.

So they should just release it and not worry about mods.

None of us can say when it will come out for sure. It will most likely be some time in august though.

Because he repeated, almost to the letter, what he said two weeks ago. Reminds of the Soontm regarding some of the New Vegas DLCs :lmao:

Can you be sure it's really him, or just a spambot using his account? :P

Lol. I just thought of something.

Thalmor=Microsoft

Empire=Bethesda/360

Stormcloaks=PS3/PC players

Talos worshop=Patches/DLC
so true i play ps3 and am a stormcloak, but bethesda did make a bad move with the exlusiveness, most people will buy new games instead if they dont hurry...
