A month from now is too late for the PC. I as well as lot of other PC gamers will be too preoccupied with guild Wars 2 to even given a moments thought about Dawnguard.

That will be true with me. I've done every beta event with it so far and absolutely enjoy it. I've only been tinkering with Skyrim because it's not live yet. Bethesda certainly has one of the most awkward business practices that I've ever seen and this is coming from a guy who works in a thriving corporation. Oh, let's flash a new product to our consumers, then only hand it out to a few select people and pretend no one else exists. WTF??? Who does that?

I just remember hearing that 1.6 had some major stability/performance problems and mucked up a couple things. I wouldn't know from personal experience, because Bethesda decided that the PS3 wasn't worth patching, and I'm still hesitant to go to 1.5, because I heard that caused a lot of issues itself, so I've been staying at 1.4.

Oh. From my perspective, those instability issues are no longer present. The game runs very smoothly, best yet and I haven't done any upgrades to my PC since I bought Skyrim. I don't know how that will translate to the PS3, I've noticed a performance increase on the PC. Then again I've always updated to the latest version of the game and never had any issues. 1.5 was better than 1.6 though.

Hopefully they'll be able to tell us more information regarding a release date tomorrow, since that will be the first day outside the exclusive period.

I can appreciate how business works. Can't you guys at least confirm that Dawnguard will be released on another platform? Its just a yes or no question.

I'm posting here for the last time on the subject, my post regarding the Gstaff announcement was closed I guess to consolidate the responses.

I personally think it's a disgrace and offence to any fan of the series to issue a statement like that. That would have sufficed at the beginning of the exclusion, oops sorry, exclusive period, now it's just adding insult to injury to the PC/PS3 fans, some have mentioned Dawnguard being delayed until the 1.7 update, presumably to fix bugs but that wasn't mentioned in the statement. Update or not I no longer care, their complete lack of communication with the PC/PS3 community has been a lesson for all other developers in how to alienate and enrage their fans.

I'll not be purchasing Dawnguard, at full price under any circumstances, perhaps when steam has it on sale for a few pounds and I have some time to kill I'll consider it.

Nice work Bethesda you've ruined your reputation regarding this fan and I suspect quite a few others.

This rant is not because the DLC hasen't been released or because there hasn't been a date set, but solely for the lack of any kind of relevant information, he used very few words to say exactly nothing.

If I had to guess, I would say it will be released on a Tuesday, like it was on the 360. Likely next week or the week after. But the PS3 will probably have to wait a bit longer.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bethesda announced that Dawnguard will remain exclusive to the Xbox. There has beenZERO mention of the PC and PS3 versions.

So, let's see if I can get this straight. Bethesda releases Skyrim on the PS3 completely buggy as hell and claimed it was exactly the same version as the 360 when it wasn't. They allowed themselves to be bought by MS where it pertained to DLC and segmented their fan base between 360 and PS3/PC when it was essentially the PC userbase that made them what they are today. Now, as if that wasn't enough, the PS3 userbase not only does not receive patch 1.6 like the 360 did, but we also have to wait longer than the one month promised for DLC with no release date even hinted at and the likelihood that it too will be a buggy mess. We can also assume that Bethesda will take no accountability for this and instead blame the PS3 as a platform or technical issues. Why does anyone still buy games from this increasingly irrelevant developer?

I would be very disappointed but at this point not surprised.

Because as much as I'm disgusted with Bethesda as a company, the games are just that good. The developers themselves are awesome and I love them to pieces. Now if only I could give the money from my purchases directly to them without supporting the rest of the company.

You understand that that mentality perpetuates these practices right? And that the developers are responsible for the delays in the release as well? If the exclusivity deal was for 30 days, then time is up and there is no DLC. One can no longer blame MS for that, because the blame lies with Bethesda.

They would ensure 2/3 of the community would be lost.

I honestly dont think it will be exclusively for xbox...i honestly think it will be released for other systems....we just need to have patience and understanding in the matter. The only thing i am frustrated with is the lack of communication from beth to their loyal customers/family.

How exactly are the developers responsible? They don't make the marketing and PR decisions.

They make the DLC and are responsible for its timetable. They also make the patches, one of which they have excluded from PS3 users. That is why they are responsible.

Of course it will. Why would it be a 30 day exclusive if they weren't planning to give the other platforms the DLC? Why would the 1.7 patch address Dawnguard issues for all platforms? We saw this EXACT same situation with Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3 (except Fallout 3 on PC was included with the exclusivity agreement).

It's expected to release on all platforms. It's the lack of communication that is upsetting everyone.

They're responsible for its development timetable. Not the release timetable. When Bethesda releases it is up to the marketing guys. Also I seem to recall that the patch delay was a problem with Sony, though I could be wrong on that one.
