PCPS3 Release Date Thread part 18

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 2:03 am

I hope everyone can be civil about this subject. While it's perfectly fine to have a negative opinion about the lack of a solid release date, you have to express them in a civil and mature way. We do not want to see immature hostile posts :nono:

Anyway, the only official word we have as of now, is from http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1398818-inquiries-re-dawnguard-release/. So unfortunately we have to wait until there is more information.
We have not announced release plans for Dawnguard on platforms other than Xbox 360 (available worldwide). As soon as there's any new information to share, we'll let everyone know.

Gstaff has also said he will have more information very soon.

That was the window for exclusivity, not an indication of when Dawnguard would be available on other platforms. The only date we set was for the Xbox 360 release.

I hope to provide more information in the very near future so you guys don't feel left in the dark. And sorry, there's only so many ways to say that without sounding like a broken record.

The 1.7 patch has been released for pc and should be going out to the console manufactures this week.

I note the ref to Dawnguard missions has now been removed with this patch so either having it broke their exclusivity deal or Beth are about to make a lot of losses on their next PC release.

Interesting what you said in "part 17" "Rohugh", but i wonder why they never said something about some serious problems, like "z-fighting",etc....anyway,thanks for the little off topic explanation.

That could mean a lot,or not...depends on the perspective, they may be preparing the DLC for release and what was there before may indicate let's say, "beta testings" to check if everything is ok before the release... :turned:

I think it means that it will release because maybe somebody effed up and they are fixing this for the release.

Tweets from Hines I can do without. "Just sit tight. We'll have info soon.". "Nothing has been said/announced about it. We should have info later this week".. Bah!

Most likely means Dawnguard will remain XBox 360 exclusive. :(

I wonder if in the end this exclusivity deal with Microsoft will have been worth it to Bethesda, with all the customer backlash and all. I'm sure poeple who say they won't, will still buy Dawnguard when it releases.

The whole thing just saddens me though. The Elder Scrolls series WAS a PC franchise, but now they cater to M$ Xbox. I really don't understand why M$ would want Bethesda to keep the DLC away from PC players. I can kind of understand PS3 because it's in direct competition with Xbox, but PC/Stream users are really in another category than consoles.

I just hope Bethesda will not do this with future games. It really does create unhappy customers for no real reason.

If that was the case they would have said that already. Instead they said its a 30 day exclusive.

How long does it typically take the console companies to accept the patch submissions?

Well would you look at that, finally some news. But I have a bad feeling that Dawnguard will be delay'd for some silly reason, probably technical reasons, always is technical.

1.7 fixes Dawnguard and vampire issues and it is going to be on PSN and it is already on Steam
Explain me how the heck they prepare the patch for a upcoming DLC that is "not going to launch"

To not release the DLC for any client is nonsense. I recall the chaos from when Skyrim first released on PC and PS3 (especially with PS3's save bloat issue). Give them the time to make sure all is fixed and ready, they don't want people corrupting their 8 month old savegames with rushed releases. Xbox and PS3 have different memory configurations (PS3's dedicated + shared vs Xbox's all shared) so it takes time to test.

I feel the PS3ers' pain with being left out, but all this was known before release. PC players get user-made content which is plentiful and keeps us busy, Xbox gets timed exclusives, and PS3 gets memory leaks and bloated save games. Hang in there, it will come.

Indeed,
Spoiler
but i wonder if the much talked "vampire attacks in cities" are a bug or just a "random annoying thing",either way i don't like the idea of important NPC's being killed because of this....

I wonder if any part of this delay is to prepare the Construction Kit to handle the new Dawnguard assets, such as the two non-typical perk trees.
