Anyone else worried that New Vegas is going to svck?

Post » Sun May 15, 2011 6:54 am

There is no way this game is going to svck. However, I am worried about the Ps3 version looking jaggy and washed out, and my 360 is throwing out subtle hints that it might stop working. I'm having a tough time deciding which version to get.

I hear that they were careful in porting it so it seems all good for PS3

I've only played fallout 2 (not 1 though...) and 3, and I thought Bethesda did the tone (Or atmosphere. Whatever you want to call it!) much, much better. Fallout 2 went over the top a few too many times, and though the writing was indeed better in 2, the atmosphere just got sort of... off topic, sometimes. Anyway, I now that Bethesda has moved it in a new direction it will be difficult to stray too far off. And KOTOR 2 was an unfinished masterpiece - it probably would have been one of my favorite games of all time. It should go without saying, then, that I have confidence in Obsidian's storytelling. In short, I'm not worried. I hated New Reno with a passion, but I think that they've put enough justification into New Vegas's (The city, not the game. I'll love the game) existence that I'll be alright. Hell, I may even enjoy it! :foodndrink:

F1 was less outlandish than 2. Its tongue and cheek persona was part of it charm though. It definitely took its self less serious than Fallout 3.

I suppose, I suppose. I guess the crazier ones just left a bad taste in my mouth. :( I actually prefer Mothership Zeta to the downed shuttle (or any monty python references). I know, it's crazy. (Although I still pretend they didn't imply the aliens started the great war. :meh: )
Just a matter of taste, I guess. Not good or bad. I love that Wild Wasteland is optional this time around, though! Everybody wins! :D

I'm not worried. I already saw what will probably be the worst release in this generation of Fallout. The xbox 360 release of The Pitt. That was so messed up and buggy when it got released, I don't think new Vegas will be anywhere near as bad as that not even as bad as Alpha Protocol. And that game wasn't terrible either. The combat was the worst part. Fallout already has a combat engine built into it so they can mostly play to their strengths: twisted plotlines, intersecting quests and engaging dialogue.

Not after what I've seen the last couple of weeks. Besides some small bugs this game is going to be epic.

Of course Aliens didn't start the great war old boy, merely passers by. Privy to a first hand account of the depravity's and social inferiority of man.

Read my bio...its canon...in my mind...
