What factions are you most allied with? (Part 2)

The Titanic was an unsinkable vessel. It sank on its first trip out to sea. Its sister ship sank several later. There is no such thing as "un" anything. If a stucture is there it can be destroyed/sabotaged.

All it takes is time. The 38 can t run away and get better it is what it is. The NCR can get better by using their brains.....

Yes, in the real world.

Fallout is essentially a work of fiction, the developers, it's Gods. Whatever they say goes, and they say Mr. House is capable of creating impenetrable structures.

This is silly, you can't change what the devs intended.
They made the game mate, not us lol

The ncr could get better until they acsend into godliness but you can't get past a no limits scenario.
Drawing from real-world comparisons doesn't work in this scenario ad FO isn't real and if they wish to have something indestructible, all they need do is say that is it, and behold it is so..

I'm not arguing that House can defeat the NCR
(Although I do have a theory on how he could post-reactor reactivation)

I'm just saying there is no way for the ncr OR the legion to administer the coup d' grace

You just argued that the NCR would be able to penetrate Mr. Houses defenses because they have females to figure stuff out.

This would be a good time to stop talking. Or maybe call one of your female friends to figure out how to write your next post for you.

If you had half the brain you think you do, and didn t cut out half of my post to try to twist it you would know what I was saying.

CL limits its self by having 1 guy that is well versed in the world around him, and even if they had a meeting of the minds females would be left out cutting out more potential ways to solve the problem.

Maybe you should stop posting, because you think you are a badass end all know all, but all you do is take a small line out of a post and twist it so you can attempt to be hard. Either that or you really don t have what it takes to even know what I was saying.

Either way maybe you should take a little break.

Oh dear, I think maybe this discussion has reached the end of its usefulness?
And I didn't even get to talk about the roof-mounted lasers of ultimate destruction. :(

Yes fo lore say pa is uneffected by small arms fire, yet this in not tru in game. Go with "can t" if you want. I ll take it as no one figured it out yet. Just like the titanic was unsinkable until it sank.

This too. Always wondered what happened to those.

At any rate, there is ZERO in game evidence that the NCR or Caesar's Legion would be able to kill Mr. House. There is evidence saying his defenses would be impenetrable. Hell, even Yes-man's ending seems to imply that Mr. House had an ace in the hole for if someone did manage to kill him...

And to flip the argument Rook is making, who's to say that Mr. House wouldn't be able to bide his time long enough to think of a plan? The man is an absolute genius: he's the founder of Robco, he successfully predicted the Great War and defended the Mojave from 70 nuclear warheads and he's over 200 years old thanks to nothing but his own knowledge of medicine and science. He also shows that he can detect and delete a FoTA "virus" in 13 seconds flat. The FoTA, btw, definitely has a better understanding of science and technology than the NCR. You don't think the man would be able to think of a plan B in the time it takes the NCR to get in? Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only intelligent citizens from the NCR in the Mojave are the head technician at the Dam, Holden and Keeley. No one else is outstanding.
And what about Yes-man? A FoTA successfully reprogrammed him to become what he is now and they reprogrammed him so that Mr. House SEEMS to be clueless to his existence (correct me if I'm wrong, I might be), and yet Yes man is incapable of penetrating Mr. House's database. He can't jump to a securitron inside the Lucky 38, he can't access any info from Mr. House's database and he can't sabotage any of the functions of Mr. House's network.

Maybe he could rig the lasers to rain down on the soldiers, or he could give the robots a self-destruct feature so that they could suicide bomb the soldiers.

"But you have no evidence of this being possible." Yes exactly. Just as you have no evidence of Mr. House's defense being penetrable by the NCR.

The titanic? lol
The 'unsinkable' claim that they made was a publicity gimmick.
Given it's hull was separated into sections that could be closed off if breached protecting it from large amounts of damage.
It was never actually unsinkable though. Thats not the same thing as it being stated that those elevator doors can't be breached.
As for the PA thing, thats a balance issue. If they were actually immune to small arms fire while you played it would render many enemies completey negated.

It's BS I agree but I also understand why its done. Once again though its not comparable with House being able to build impregnable structures.
This is kinda like the other thread were someone tried to claim house didn't shoot down the nukes because only two people said it and there was no other evidence.
You can't deny something thats in the game just because you don't like it dude.

NCR storming the Lucky 38 would be largely pointless, anyways. If they've got House holed up in there he's effectively neutralized and there's no need for it. It'd be like storming the Hidden Valley bunker; massive casualties would be sustained for no real gain.

I took my own advice and took a break and came up with this.

The doors may not be the easiest way in. Tunneling underground to see what hes got protecting the bottom may be a better idea

Also there are windows, now I m sure they are not made of glass, but shooting very large projectiles at the upper floors windows and climbing the tower, or roping down from vertibirbs may work better.

The windows must be the weakest link.

Well you definitely get points for thinking outside the box lol.
The windows entry may gain you access to the main casino but not the underground complex.
Tunneling would definitely get you a lot closer I think.
However seeing as we know what the area around the chamber is like I'd have to assume that was also extremely secure.
Actually seeing as it contains Mr House himself its going to be the most secure of all, impenetrable armor and forcefields galore lol.

All just speculation of course but I'm still going to have to say that, NCR puts up a really good effort and then have to finally admit that the best they can do is stop House from interfering.

Dude it's not a matter of what could realistically be done. I could probably ask you to break into Fort Knox and you and a group of people could eventually find a weak point and utilize it.
But Fallout is a work of literature. If the writers say it's impenetrable and/or no one ever did/will penetrate it, then that's fact. All clues in game imply that no one will ever break through Mr. House's defenses on their own; they need to convince the man that Mr. House trusts enough to let in to actually kill him.

For the fun of the argument though, keep in mind that the Lucky 38 seems to be surrounded by a foundation made out of the exact same material the door is made out of. They'd have to dig from quite a ways out. It also looks like they'd have to dig INCREDIBLY deep, judging from the looks of Mr. House's chamber itself. The windows are quite a ways up. The only floors that have windows are the cocktail lounge and the Penthouse, all the way at the top. It'd be quite a feat to climb something that high and with that particular shape. And even then once you make it there, you have no idea how thick the glass is and whoever did make the climb would have to single-handedly deal with the remaining securitrons in the penthouse while hanging from a rope. Good luck lolz.

And realistically, why? I mean, killing him brings the NCR no benefit. Yes, there's a possibility that Mr. House would bide his time and come back 40 years later with a new plan and a new threat, but it's INCREDIBLY unlikely that the NCR has the right info and the right foresight to acknowledge this threat.

I just can t go with it Longknife and Doom. The devs mean no one has gotten it done yet. IMO

There has got to be a way.......... I can t live with there not being a way.

It is all pointless, because cl or NCR could render House completely useless by simply killing mkl securitrons and killing all the families on the strip. If NCR wanted to do this they would have done it a long time ago before cl even got there.

Several pages back this was my main point that if NCR wanted to steal the strip they would. Killing House or just voiding him out its all the same. They would have the strip if they wanted it.

Yep, and I said the same thing pages ago. NCR/legion could nullify House easily if they weren't already fighting a war. They just could never properly finish the job.

No one's disagreeing that the NCR would overthrow the Strip when faced with the Mark I securitrons. The Mark II Securitrons, we'll never know and it seems pointless to speculate it. NCR effectively loses to the Mark II bots at the Second Battle of Hoover dam (if they're actively used against them), but that's after exhausting troops against the Legion, so that's not a definitive result.
We're just saying it'd be just about impossible to kill Mr. House. They could kill all of Mr. House's pawns (save for Mr. New Vegas!), but to actually take out the king himself would be impossible for them, and even if it were possible, not worth the effort, at least in the eyes of the NCR and the Legion.
