Yeah but it's not purely expansions for it's own sake is it? The conquest of Vegas will actual bring significant change to the Legion's strucutre. The NCR runs the show in expansion for it's own sake anyway.

I don't think the general principle of "the individual has no purpose but functionality to the state...a monolothic culture that consumes and strips the identity of all others.." will ever change.

I don't buy Caesar's synthesis speech. He will die in the near future and some other ruthless dikewad will take over. I don't think the Legion will ever stop expanding and it will crumble sooner than it thinks.

If the NCR wasn't so corrupt, inept, and genuinely protected and helped their citizens I might actually like them. But they remind me too much of the pre-war government that got us into this whole fallout mess in the first place.

I like NCR soldiers and Rangers, but for me there is no shame in killing them. I don't enjoy it, but I wanna bring the bear down.

Legion are facsist, not communist and no one knows which side started the atomic warfare first. And neither side was clean. They were fighting over control of rescources. Washington even conquered Canada - a major supplyer of petroleum to the US. Similar to when the Soviet Union conquered Easern Europe during it's war with Nazi Germany. Moscow claimed they took it over to protect it against facsism.

I would say the Enclave is more in line with the old order than the NCR. I mean, they are literally linked to the old world government and the NCR is not.
