First DLC Announced

Post » Thu May 26, 2011 11:05 pm

my point on the graphics and ai are because fo nv uses the same engine and gear as oblivion, morrowwind, fo3 etc they never upgraded to a new one. and from what ive scene in fo3 and nv its the reason it crashes with windows vista windows 7 etc because like i said its a 70 pinto in a jetsons flying car age. it needs to be replaced.as far as story and graphics combines vs bordom level prime example of taking the time to do something right. warcraft its an rpg has good stories and great graphics. and since there last update was wrath of the litch king several years ago theve taken there time and are just now putting out a new game.

Your preaching to the Choir

PS3 users will get Dead Money, not on the release date...its a tactic...and it works in the end because anyone who truly wants the DLC will buy it regardless if Beth made them wait

To the engine guy...Elder Scrolls5 feautures a brand new game engine...So its basically a done deal Fallout 4 will also be done on this new engine and launch around the holidays of 2012, maybe mid 2013

deltadeath93, I'm fairly certain Bethesda/ZeniMax thought through all the problems that can come from an exclusive on Xbox, including piracy and bad feelings. This isn't their first kick at the can when it comes to DLC releases. They made the decision that made the best sense to them in the end.

As for the engine, I honestly hope that if they buy Obsidian they provide Obsidian with it's own engine team and create customized versions of their new engine for both ES and FO franchises. The franchises are too different to continue to share an engine, IMO and they've probably got enough good engine people working for ZeniMax now to make it work.

The only reason you lost your weapons in FO3 was because they would have made you over powered, + by the time you finished you had so much gear you had to stockpile it and make round trips to get the stuff. Ex: I made 9 trips back to adams air force base to get tesla/hellfire armor. At the time I was on an Xbox BTW.

Hysteria overrides common sense every time.

Nobody is being hysterical. Its a discussion about the DLC, and people are discussing how they don't like artifically delayed (at best) DLC content just because MS thinks it'll get us to buy a console that we by this point either already have or don't want.

heres an idea. why doesnt a modder simply download dead money for xbox. then do it as a mod for the rest of us and tell beth ta go %$#@ themselves for being platform rasists.
its just a thought
and im sure will happen evnetually anyway. prob not on nexus but sure someone some where is thinking the same thing.

It's tempting to think that but you'd be pissing on the greatest gift a dev has ever given the fanbase......the construction set.....assuming it would be needed to make the 360 to PC conversion in the first place.

Nah, I like how Obsidians Engine Onyx looks in DS3. If its stable they should make a Fallout in the old style with it.

Also does nobody want to discuss the details we have already about the DLC?

It makes me sad that it will be all over the forums before I can get my hands on it (PC user here. Howdy!). I had to ban myself from the wiki and the forums before I could finish my first playthrough. Now I gotta do it again

Can we get a DLC section with platform-exclusive subsections please?

I dunno, that's not how I remember it with Anchorage and the other DLC's. Usually, the wiki gets a lot of the information later that day, as I remember it.

Personally I'm going to look at all of th new weapons and check the feedback, then I'll pass judgement and later get it even if my judgement was negative. I doubt it will be though; this is coming from someone who thoroughly enjoyed Operation: Anchorage (though not as much as the other DLC's).

I hear you brother.

I guess it's time to give quest mods a try. New Vegas Bounties sounds nice.
