Argonians and Khajiit: Lizard

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 2:32 pm

I think this discussion is running into the ground. The OP is only saying "They're ridiculous and they svck and that's that" without any reasoning and is not addressing any of the given counterpoints whatsoever, so I don't think there is really anything else that can be said.

these races are perfectly suited to their enviement (argonian's scales protect it from the dangers of the swamps in the same as a crocdil, and a khajiit's fur is not insulating, it helps to keep the heat off and protect their actual skin from sandstorms) so there is no logical falacy here, you sir, just want to play lord of the rings in sandbox mode

can i get a cookie for figuring it out?

i never implied anything to the contrary. but how i "feel" about it ultimately expresses my own creative values on the matter, which is what we're talking about anyway. yes, i'm being a bit obnoxious, but it's hard to be polite when you think someone else's taste stinks. i really don't know how to be polite about that, so i just run at it full bore.
By the whole "bad conceptualization" thing I was curious as to how the entire concept is bad because that implies its just not a good design choice or concept.

You do have to be a little more clear online or people will misunderstand.

Also we all have our opinion on what is and what is not strange and different that does not however mean something is horrible by design.

This here, flaws exist in every story and every tale, even here in the real world.

With flaws it makes everything perfect, perfectly flawed.

i would love to have that conversation because you said they are a flawed in the sense of evolution when they clearly aren't, they are perfectly suited for their respective provinces. i hate, with all my heart and soul, whatever boring game you want with just humans, and i will never accept it. and TES not flawed in anyway because of the beast races

Read some damn TES-lore, play the game and you might appreaciate them in one way or another! I hated the khajiit and the argonian race (not just because I'm a Dunmer person, but because I thought they were a weird human-like creature (or the other way around) like you. In both MW and OB they were quite weird to me, but Skyrim changed my view on the Khajiit completely! (To go from most hated race to me to almost the most loved is a big change, imo)The khajiit's in Skyrim are just too cool to not be in there and I was dissapointed that there were so few of them now that I actually liked them.
I'm not quite sure about the argonians, though. Little [censored]s taking over the southern parts of Morrowind and slaughtering everyone is not a good idea, and they look far more out of place than the other races due to the settings they often are in. It still doesn't feel like a TES game without the argonian so one thing is sure, though...No beast races = No TES

Its flawed in the conflict and strife, the beings that interact with mortals for amusemant. The darker side of living things. Yet its full of entities willing to help and those that are willing to go to great ends to save existence, perfectly flawed.

i know that, i said haveing the beast races does not create a flaw like the op says (altough i can see how it could sound like i meant it in another way)

Argonians destroyed the deadra(?) invasion of Black Marsh not because of humans or elves, but because of Argonians and ANCIENT SENTIENT TREES! The Imperials were dependent on a super powerful demi god who became a deadric(?) lord.

I was agreeing with you in a round about way, see my above post to the OP about things being perfectly flawed.

I knew how you meant it.

never said i wanted an exclusive, human-only universe. and my argument repudiates the design, so i don't really know why people are so persistent on telling me i need to read MORE of something i've already weighed in on. what perspective am i missing? now why don't you take whiskers outside, he's clawing the furniture.

never said i wanted an exclusive, human-only universe. and my argument repudiates the design, so i don't really know why people are so persistent on telling me i need to read the one thing i have read and i personally don't care for. that says more about me than it does about the work if i'm that susceptible. now why don't you take whiskers outside, he's clawing the furniture.

i'll feed you to whiskers if you actually manage to get the greatest races taken out, do you honestly want to take out what is left to distinguish TES? i will leave in a heart beat if the interesting races (beast) are taken out since it would ruin every aspect of the lore and the lore is the main reason i would play this over mabonogi or some other MMO

There are already too many human/elf races only fantasy games out there. I'm glad this series is more interesting than them.

In Morrowind the beast races were almost made not playable. Thanks to the fans it didn't happen. :)

I would like to see everyone who began their TES experience with Skyrim to be banished from the forums until 11-11-12.
Nothing but stupid posts, silly requests, constant comparisons to a certain mmo, and no respect for the lore or the series.
If you are still here a year after release you may join us.
