Fun topic - Who is your most disliked NPC in Skyrim and why?

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 12:39 am

Maven Black-Briar; really didn't like how she seemed to have so much power with the Thieves Guild. Almost made me not want to join TG. Speaking of returning the TG to its former glory, where is the option to cut away her puppet strings for the sake of the guild. >.>

Barbas; Wanted to kill this dog so many times for repeatedly running into my character. Didn't care about his usefulness in fights, I finished his quest asap.

Any child without a respective mod. Immortal and jerks in one package.

Well, not anymore. I soul trapped every single one of them and dropped the soul gems into the Sightless Pit.

I spent a while trying vainly to kill Louis Letrush and Jaree Ra. The former I kited into a giant camp and let them pound on him for about 15 minutes.

That Talen-Jei.

Talen: "You have some nerve coming in here after what you did to Keerava."
Me: "Urgghhh bye."
Talen: "Farewell my good friend and thanks for the amethysts."
Me: "Do you by any means be having therapy?"

General Tullius. He is a five-star floater, that one. You win a civil war for him and all he does is tell you to shove off.

Oh, and Siddgeir. I want a bear to pole-vault up his [censored].

I don't know if this qualifies but all the most annoying have already been taken.

So I'll go with the Assassin ghost you get from the Dark Brotherhood quests. The dude never shuts up and always says the exact same things over and over. The first time I summoned him it was cool for about 10 minutes. For an assassin his noise and stealth discipline svcks. The same goes for the other followers but if some meat-head like Farkas comes along you expect him to run into battle without an intelligible thought in his acorn sized brain. With a ghostly assassin you'd think the guy would know better.

He's like the friend you don't really care for all the much but when you're really bored you give him a call to go get some beers. At first it's cool but within a short amount of time you're repeatedly reminded of why you don't want to hang out with the dude.

OMG YES!!!!!! I couldn't agree more!

In no particular order because I don't think I could decide between Delpine and Galmar...

1. Maven Black-Brier. Since I can't kill her to punish her for her tremendous rudeness to my character and her general nastiness I have an evil plan to fill her posh house with junk: shovels, broom, pitchforks, etc. That'll show her!
2. I hated Delphine and her bad voice acting and unreasonable requests so much that I shot her with my enchanted firey bow and left her, blazing away, on the steps of High Hrothgar. That was on my only character that has finished the MQ. I've pretty much ignored her ever since and may never finish the MQ again. If I could replace her with a friendly Skeever that couldn't talk at all and play the MQ with it replacing her every appearance that would be preferable.
3. Ulfric and his boytoy Galmar. These two just never, ever shut up. Every time I go into The Palace of the Kings these two are talking loudly to each other about the same two or three topics like an old, forgetful, deaf married couple. Add to that the excitement of Galmar souding like he's got rocks in his mouth and it's endless entertainment up there. Let me just say that I loved living out my homicidal fantasies toward these two at some point in the game.

I don't hate any NPC in particularly. What I do hate is the inane, repetitious dialog they constantly spout as if they've never seen my character before and feel compelled to tell him their life story every time he runs by. They did not do this in Oblivion - usually you'd get a very normal greeting (based on their disposition towards you) and that was it. No additional dialog unless you activated the NPC. Whomever decided we need the Gettysburg Address every time we get within range of an NPC in Skyrim didn't do the player any favors. Its damned irritating.

its a tie between the boethiest priest lady who wants me to betray an innocent and the general store shopkeeper in whiterun(next to the potion store lady), every time i finish selling, the guy says "see you laaaater" it makes me feel like he is a clairvoyant who can predict the future and knows i will return to sell my loot...creeeepy

Vilkas, hands down. I also hate most of the Companions. There a bunch of mercenaries that like to talk tough, but there really a bunch of pansies.

Farkas, by far. After having to listen to him for hours from that annoying follower glitch of his I loaded the save because I couldn't take him talking about how eveyone thinks he's stupid anymore.

Pay your ourstanding fine - glitch solved. He's in the guard faction (so Vilkas) and that's why he follows you around if you have a bounty on your head.

Maven Black-Briar

Because [SPOILERS]

Also, unlike a certain, similar figure in Markarth, you can't really give her any 'just desserts,' which just makes the [SPOILERS] all the more irritating.

I WAS gonna say Nazeem and all the stuck up immortal kids in whiterun, but ill have to go with Spectral Assassin... Never shuts up even when talking to other NPC's. Snapped at one point and sent him back to sithis.

Children in general. "I'm ten years old and I could take you" "Another wanderer, here to lick my father's boots. Good job."

And repeated dialogue when you pass people by.

I'm getting really, really sick of Nills "I'm the cook at candlehearth..."
You can't really avoid him when you head to the Windhelm marketplace and he intercepts you every single time with his silly line.

For an NPC I just don't like Maeven Black-Briar of Riften would be it. She also happens to be immortal so she is untouchable.

That bum in Markarth. I usually don't stab people in the face in broad daylight but I make an exception for him.

I'm going to try the Midas Magic spell "Polymorph Hare" on Maven. It doesn't kill those immortal characters, just turns them into a scared bunny. I can see it now, Maven, the Rabbit of Riften, head of the Hares Guild.
