Empire or Stormcloak

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 2:54 pm

Ulfric was still part of the Legion when he retook Marharth, along with his men. They only call it his militia, because the whole thing was done under the table, and Ulfric and his men were later thrown under the bus.
I've never heard of anything saying his followers were also with the Legion. Even if it is likely a number of them originally were.

I supported the Empire. Here is my reasoning: The Great War was only theirty years in the past, so wounds are still fresh. The Stormcloaks think that by breaking away from the Empire, they will be able to not only win a war with the Empire(Cyrodill and Highrock attacking from two fronts) and fight the Thalmors' ban against Talos(Who was an Imperial and conqourer of the Nords, wouldn't be a god I would worship if I was Nord). The Empire only won the war with the combined forces of Cyrodill, Skyrim, Highrock and Hammerfell. Hammerfell already broke away, along with Blackmarsh and Morrowind. If Skyrim broke away from the Empire, they would cause the Thalmor to win if they decided to attack again. Cyrodill would be by it's self, with Skyrim next on their path. All of the freedoms they fought for would be taken from them in the end.

Stormcloaks. It's their land and all. While I don't really support every aspect of their propaganda (like them being hostile towards most races in their homeland) I can understand most of them to degree. Imperials seem like Altmer-svck ups, and they always stick their noses where they don't belong (cough Morrowind cough). They are my 2nd favorite race because of it, no idea why don't they just stay the hell back in Cyrodiil, live and let live.

Stormcloaks. If two sides are morally ambiguous, I always choose the underdog
Ah, thanks for this post. I have things I hate about the Empire and the Storm Cloaks and was having a hard time deciding (yet again) on my current character. I think Tamriel would be better off with some kind of united provinces anyways. I really want to kick my self for being on the same side as some of the fundamentalist/racist Stormcloak supporters though. Beth did a good job pissing me off too, that 1 guy bullying the Dunmer when you enter Windhelm is essential.

Anyways I wish there were more than 2 options. If I'm asked to choose between 2 groups, I usually say [censored] you! and do it my own way. Like Yes Man! in New Vegas.

bravo that beutifull men

About Wulf, can it be that the change has already happened? The Septim dynasty into Mede Dynasty?

and fight the Thalmors' ban against Talos(Who was an Imperial and conqourer of the Nords, wouldn't be a god I would worship if I was Nord).

Wait, Isn't Talos a nord? I know there are some sources that said that Tiber Septim is acyually Wulfharth, Talos, and Zurin Arctus and I've even heard one that state Talos is breton but never Imperial.

Talos was said to be born in Atmora which would make him fullblooded Nord.

Imperials, because Ulfric turns out to be racist and he sits on his chair like in a weird way.

Ulfric because the Empire doesn't deserve to rule what it doesn't have the strength to. Skyrim would do better w/o Cyrodiil just as Hammerfell, Black Marsh and the Aldmeri Dominion are now in a better position.

The Medes are being greedy by trying to hold on to Skyrim, by being greedy they are wasting Nord blood. Independence for Skyrim was the right thing, even Torygg agreed.

Also, one drunkard in Windhelm doesn't make Ulfric racist....

Empire. Tried to do the stormcloak quest line but I felt like a [censored] during it so I went to each of the holds and talked with the people what made me finally join the imperial legion was what the court wizard said in solitude. Funny thing is that torygg admired ulric and agreeded with him but he did not join him since the dominion is a sleeping beast and skyrim would not be able to handle them alone and the fact that this is talos's empire. The people of skyrim depended on the resourcses of the empire to live and torygg was not going to let that fall apart and then ulric killed him.

Oh and I felt like a [censored] during the seige of whiterun and after the stormcloak quest line I went back to whiterun and people in the shops are losing there jobs and leaving skyrim when the imperial win no one loses jobs in windhelm all that happens is that the blacksmith in that city does not sell stuff to you.

I have did both quest lines but in the end my heart is on the Stormcloak side. They have justice, honor and righteous on their side. They are redeemers who are fighting for their homes, land, beliefs and culture. Imperials are Thalmor puppets and accepting their order is same than accepting Thalmor rule over your country. In the end the Empires relationships with the Thalmor will end up accepting their rule over the Empire. And also we have to keep in mind than Imperials are cheaters and betrayals. After the Great war and the concordat they promised to Ulfric and Nord militia to allow free Talos worship all over the Skyrim if they take care of the Markath incident. They did so and what they got? Free worship for a small while but when Thalmor get to know about it the Empire ate their words and betrayed the Nords. Stormcloaks are fighting because they have to - Imperials because they want to.

The Thalmor don't want any of them to win and I always prefer the Stormcloaks (because they're rebels?), but somehow I almost always side with the empire (maybe because of a single guard comment: "What the Stormcloaks like to forget is that the Empire is what's keeping the Thalmor out of Skyrim" or something among those lines - I really hate the Thalmor!)

That's the weirdest comment they ever say. The Empire has allowed Thalmor to freely operate all over the Empire. The Empire is reason why there are Thalmor justiciars, Thalmor forts and Embassy in Skyrim. They aren't keeping Thalmor out - they are bringing them in.

Nobody's losing jobs. The steward's daughter says she's lost "some business" but most things are normal. Remember the scene you see when you first enter Whiterun, those contracts she's getting from the imperials? So there you go. And she was advising her father the steward, so it's normal people would feel resentment if they weren't happy about Balgruuf's support of the empire.

I used to support the stormcloaks because I belive the ban on worshipping Talos was wrong. But overtime I grew to untrust Ulfric's actions and cause, so I gave my support to the empire.

Long live the empire.
