Put your hands up for the beta testers who are actually bug

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 9:53 am

My reason was because I had only just realized my email was hacked... Honestly Ive been peeping on the Forums without even logging on. Today when I attempted to join Beta I realized I forgot my password. So I go to my Yahoo before I attemp to recover and I find it has been erased. It wasnt just for the Beta that i come here. I come here every patch and everytime I get a bug...I just dont log on and I dont care for posting but I am liking it as of now because there are so many views people have that its funj to debate
Sorry about ur yahoo account, and I agree I really hate it when people say "so and so made a account just to play and NOT test the beta or you just want to play and not test" I hate it how people assume such BS, sure there are a few out there but I have been here before Skyrim was even announced and yes getting free DLC would be awesome and yes I am happy if I get to play it early but I would love the option to TEST something out, it would make me feel like I helped the company of my fav game make a difference.

I have ALWAYS wanted to make a game or be apart of helping people make on in even a small way so if I get selected it would mean the world to me if I can help in even a small way as a beta tester.

It's hardly a service, yes they are bug busting, but i guarantee you that 90% of those who apply just want to play the thing early.
Probably higher than 90%. I'd put it at 95%.

If I get in I will report any bugs I find, if I don't... it's still good, I'll be getting when it's offically released. I agree that you really should only be applying if you really want to help find bugs, and chances are most wont.

i think most of the people on here are poor college students lol. honestly though i think there needs to be a website or something where people sign up pick what catagories of games they play and then developers go and say "yo who wants to beta test our game" and send out invites that way. not this post on facebook thing and say ZOMG HEY GUYS WHO LIKES SKYRIM sorta deal.

I have multiple characters that I plan on playing through and in all honesty I don't expect the DLC to be bug free across all of them, considering Bethesda's track record. I want to make sure the content I'm paying for is being addressed properly. I really want that Beta key lol. I'm really concerned about the Vampire Lord stuff. After I clear through that then I'd head over and help the dawnguard just cus I like to be a completionist and see everything the game has.

Respect to the people that run on beta.
I've tried it myself because I like running through things that still needs some fixes, but I decided to roll-back to normal since I haven't even been able yet to complete the main story line in Skyrim. I have played only 40+ hours since my old computer could not run Skyrim, but yeah now I run Skyrim on Ultra + Texture Packs ;-).

I really do applaud those that beta test this game because they are doing to make it a better experience for everyone.

I hope Bethesda gets people who know what they are doing instead if just getting people from here that are just rushing to get the DLC early and free.

Definitely for those of us that will play this game all the way up until the next one and probably beyond even that.

Lol at the people that have signed up just for free DLC.

Indeed.

I literally signed up here 2 days before the DLC Beta announcement lmao.
I came here to actually discuss the game, now it looks like I came for the beta.

I'm guessing the vampire/werewolf perk trees need to be tested on various playthroughs and will be one of the most problematic things.

Yeah it's funny how many new members have sprung about since the announcement of the Beta with free prizes. The whole idea of beta testing is that you will aid them in quashing bugs and testing the general gameplay, which can result in things like trying to break in-game mechanics etc so for some of you early joiners it's not as fun as you'd think.

I use to test quite actively for WoW and was accepted into the Wotlk and Cata betas although any feedback on balance was barely noticed...

I put my name up for testing and actually jave the intent of testing if i get chosen. I go to school for game design and was required to do 4 hours of testing a week and i find it really fun finding a glitch because i enjoy breaking the game and then seeing it fixed. It gives me a sense that im actually doing something. I will admit i made this account after testing was announced but plan to actually test.

Nice generalization, just because you've been a member of a forum for longer does not somehow increase your status as a fan or diminish ours. A lot of us signed up for the same reason as you.

I did join because of the beta but I plan to report anything close to a bug to Bethesda.
I care more about qualified beta testers getting the beta than whether I get the beta or not.
However I wish good luck to all who actually intend to help fix the DLC (myself included).
(fingers crossed)
