Rarity’s Deluxe Hat Simulator 2

It wouldn't be OP if it couldn't pierce through multiple targets. Try pushing into the final area of a payload map with an engineer constantly spamming that unstoppable, almost invisible laser beam.
Well, Pomson spamming Engineers tend to be pretty rare.
I have seen plenty of engineers shooting a few shots then going back to their sentry, but I've almost never seen one actively spamming.

It is kind of easy to avoid it if you make use of walls or just jump around a lot IMO.

Though, I can see its hard to avoid in some spots, and in close to medium range.

It should pass through multiple targets. Every other weapon like it does. It's one of the weapons advantages.

Yeah, but it shouldn't take away ubercharge if it already hit a target other then the medic, if that makes any sense.

But then that effect would never come into play. When was the last time you saw a medic in front of a heavy?

That's the point, the engineer shouldn't be able to just spam from safety.

But that's what Engineers do! Their entire job is to stay in one spot and keep the enemy from completeing their objectives.

The Phlog is really easy to counter by most classes. It's really effective against inexperienced players though.

The Pomson 6000 on the other hand is really overpowered. I hate that thing so much.
1 on 1 the phlog was pretty embarrassing against the backburner. While I didn't have the reserves to juggle I could still knock them about, and if they were stupid enough to use their mmph in front of me I just ran behind them during the taunt. Unfortunately I was usually facing a gaggle of them. Hopefully in a month or so their will be fewer phlogs on the field and it won't be so annoying - that's pretty much what happened with the cow mangler (toning down its visual effect also helped).

I'll admit I want to give the pomson a go. The few times I play engineer I turtle and just use my shotgun for spychecking - I'm not one of those fancy commando engineers. :) (My big thing with engineers is teleporters, I wish more engineers took these things seriously.)

The spy-cicle isn't really that Op. Just gotta use your shotgun against them. Then when they are using there dead ringer burn them up. Simple. The phlog isn't very good because the airblast is one of the pyro's biggest strong point, removing that makes him to vulnerable and can't really help his team if an uber comes in.
The airblast is the trickiest part of the pyro and removing it just makes people lazy. It's half of what gave the backburner such a bad reputation, and now that crowd has moved to the phlog. I think it would have worked better if taunting activated mmph and they found some way to preserve the airblast, even if it had a high cost like the backburner.

I agree, teleporters are the most useful buildings in the game.

I love the airblast. Today I got a triple reflect kill and huntsman-arrow reflect kill.

The thing about airblast is that adding airblast to every flamethrower just makes them end up like the current-state backburner. Start with a new playstyle, interesting concept, then just making it another wanna-be flamethrower.

I agree with you on teleporters, most engineers build a sentry (not even dispenser!) and call it a day. Teleporters are scarce. And then theres the team with 4 different teleporters.. On offense.

As a combat engy, minisentries are my alarm system(Switch to shotgun and go hunting). I'll typically place one a ways away from my tele, but covering every area that leads to where my tele is placed.

Sentries are meant to be a distraction though. Tele's and dispensers are indispensable for your team. Keeping your team on the front line is much more important than a little bit of extra damage.

Get your disp up and let your team know about it and they'll (hopefully) be around to protect you.

That may be true for mini-sentries, but their bigger brothers are much more than an annoyance. Especially id the other team doesn't have any medics.

When I play Engi I set up my sentry in such a way that I am protected by it from one side, while I then set up my dispensor to protect me fro another. I usually set up in a corner so that I can be safe from spies getting behind me while still being able to repair my buildings. However, I do have a stratagy against any people that do the same. Because the Rightous Bison and Cowmangler keep going until they hit a wall you can hit the Engi even if he is behind his buildings, and they usually have nowhere to go. And after the Engi is gone their buildings are easy pickings.

On a related note I hate it when Engies Turtle up and don't put up a teleporter. That's always the first building that I put up, even if I have no plans to set one up at the time.

I picked up a manmelter last night and I love it. I've yet to hit someone with a critical hit but being able to switch to it for extinguishing removes a lot of ammo management from the backburner. Although in an ironic turn of events despite jumping onto a Valve server to test it out there were no phlogs the entire time I was playing. :)

A fun teleporter story.

Back in the autumn I set up a second steam account. My wife had expressed an interest in playing TF2 and I figured I should get her some gear - although things got busy and nothing ever happened with this. Anyway, when I set it up I messed around a bit to get some drops and decided to play an engie since it's not one of my usual classes.

My second match as an engineer I got nearly 100 teleports without dying. This was on the second round of Dustbowl, attacking, with a nest at the end of that side tunnel. I had less than half an hour of play time and managed a score of 50 points. On my normal account my top score is 42, obtained playing pyro - a class I've sunk more than a hundred hours into. :)

As with extinguishing teammates, a wellplaced teleporter makes you a ton of friends. Turning it around so people show up facing the action instead of with their back to everyone also got me some compliments. They really need to adjust it so an engie can easily see which direction their teleporter is facing after it is placed, I think it would help a lot with this problem.

You can easily see what direction it is facing. There is an arrow on the blueprint while building that shows where the front is.

That's an option when placing, but once its down can an engineer still see which direction it's facing?

Granted even if they can't if they stick around they'll see people pop up facing the wrong direction.

No, I don't believe that you can. It shouldn't really be an issue though. I always place mine with their backs to a wall so that Spys can't camp it.

Woot, the Planeswalker Goggles are finally paintable. I've been waiting to get them properly matched with my Hermes since I picked them both up. Time to jump into itemtest.

Edit: Can't say that I'm a fan of the wedding ring though, apparently there are quite a few people willing to spend $100 to troll the community. There were several that popped up while I was in itemtest, this was the most clear cut example: "Anne Frank accepts Adolph Hitlers 'no hard feels.' Congratulations."

An engagement ring was just added. It costs $100 and if you send it to someone, and they accept, a message is broadcast to everyone on at the moment.

$100 real life dollars just to troll random people online? These must be some very rich trolls. Or morons. Or both.

Or kids that stole their parent's credit cards and will get seemingly a justified beating afterwards.

Even after all these years, and my hate for some weapons, I still love to play the game.

Welcome to the TF2 community. :)
