What is Team Fortress 2?

Team Fortress 2 is a mainly multiplayer online first-person shooter with hat-based elements. It is mostly team based (Thus Team Fortress) and, thus, different from all the "lone wolf," "Kill everything you see" shooters that seem to dominate the market nowadays. Granted, killing things is fun, but if that's all you do you probably won't have much fun or win very often.
There are nine classes, three class types: Offense (Soldier, Scout, Pyro), Defense (Engineer, Demoman, Heavy), and Supportive (Sniper, Medic, Spy). Each class has a unique role and look, you will never confuse two classes.
There is a crafting and trading system (And hats), item drops, and an in-game, micro-transaction store that provides the game's revenue since it is now F2P.

I guess I'll get excited a couple weeks from now when the items come out.

Been getting a solid 200-300 ping for every server I go on, even ones I've never had a problem with before. Any hints for fixing it?

I got a Nice Winter Crate dropped today. I never get keys (I assume there are special keys for it?) and it expires on the 1st Jan, I'm away from the 19th so will be missing out on the whole TF2 Christmas.. so anyone want my crate?

At least there's an alternative for extinguishing now. Although the lack of airblasting will keep me away from it as well, even if "phlogistinator" is a very cool name.

Hey HD, how do you like the new spy knife's self extinguishing 2 second invulnerability to flame?

I'll happy take the ability to destroy the spy's knife even if it makes them immune to fire for a few seconds.

Ever since the update, TF2 doesn't fit to the size of my screen, it has two very large black bars on both sides, what do I need to change? I don't even wanna play it like it is now.

Is there a display option to change it from 4:3 aspect ratio to 16:9 or 16:10?

That's what I initially tried to do, it reverts back to 4:3 after I press apply.

You need to be using a 16:10 resolution too.

I played a bit earlier today and the one Pyro I came across with the new loadout was completely dominating the dojo.

I've tried it with every resolution setting, it still doesn't change anything.

I haven't done this here in a while, and after my TF2 binge today I've got a decent bit up for trade:

Any of the Christmas Update weapons, namely the currently-droppable Grordbort ones until the others become readily available. (make an offer) Nevermind on this one, I'm going to wait for the prices to go down first. They're still horrendously overpriced thanks to the poorly worded update on TF2blog.

Too powerful, much to powerful. The one thing the spy doesn't need is any second of fire immunity. There are no downsides to the knife. It's even got a silent kill ability almost rendering the Saharan spy knife useless. The auto disguise isn't the primary draw of the weapon. It's GOT to be nerfed, there's no freaking question about it. Think of some alternate ability, or simply remove the knife. Whoever submitted it should get a coal in their sock for somehow sneaking that past people. What next? Should we let the Heavy have a [censored] auto canon that improve his accuracy 80% but the downside is when under attack it fires slightly slower and he can run faster?

How about a Pyro weapon where he gains +50% flamethrower range and damage. But when damaged his fuel tank goes into over drive burning him and everyone else around him in a 1000m radius.

Or the Sniper who gets a weapon that scopes in 100% quicker and is semi auto, but when hit he has to suffer the minor inconvenience of being slowed 95% Also it protects him from back stabs inexplicably because that's valve for you.

By this point your knife should almost be done. Go be stab happy.

A spy with the dead ringer/ice knife was dominating teams earlier. It's completely [censored] in the hands of even a slightly good spy. Me and a poor pyro killed the bastard like 6-8 times. He just wouldn't die. It doesn't help my pyro didn't get his flames do no damage to him with the knife melted.

I found a http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Bombing_run a few days ago. Does anyone here know where I can sell it for 1,33 ref?

It is hard to play as Engi without a Pyro like me around to protect me.

So something happened an hour ago that made my day.

I got a salvaged crate. Now the question is, should I sell it now and instantly become 8 refined (or 3 keys 1 refined) richer, or should I wait until it rises in price?

I've updated my list of items up for trade quite a bit, so I'm just going to put it in a new post.


All weapons for 1 scrap each, but I'll probably ask a bit less for any of the weapons that can be gained through achievements. I'm also willing to do 1-1 trades for the following weapons: Your Eternal Reward, Liberty Launcher, Tomislav.
