Roggvir's execution.

Do you think it was just? Did he deserve to die? Or was he a hero?

Personally, I kill that traitor myself.

He shouldn't have do that for 2 main reasons:

1) Because he had a family who loved him, and a nephew to whom he brought sorrow to for his mourning

2) Because killing the High King is just... wrong.

Neither. He was a traitor, but he should have been imprisoned. Doesn't change my opinion that the Empire's best for Skyrim, though.

Should have been thrown in Castle Dour. The imperials and their damn chopping blocks. I hate those almost as much as I hate them and their lists.

Depends if Ulfric paid him and informed him prior, or he generally had no idea what was going on.

Well, despite us, he started the game directly on his death spot, at least we got time to learn about the war while getting to Helgen lol

He should have been mounted on a pole like the corpses you find outside the gates in Helgen. That way he could think about what he did for a while.

When his niece talks about it and she said her father wont tell her, I show her his head that I've dragged from the block to the gate that takes you down the dock. I say to her, "kiss him goodbye"*

People have been executed for far less during wars. Betraying one's king is probably one of the most serious crimes a man can commit and while execution might seem uncivil by our standards, it is a perfectly normal punishment in a fantasy setting like Skyrim.

Roggvir scoffs at you from the Mead Halls of Sovngarde.

Imperial Milk Drinkers, bowing to their Thalmor overlords.

Imga, ever last one of you

He got off easy in my opinion. There are far worse punishments for a traitor.

He did what he did for what he believed in unlike Ulfric who is a whiney little turd, the Thalmor say it themselves with the Empire still in control of Skyrim it regulates what the Thalmor can do in Skyrim and the Empire is stronger with Skyrim in it's grips and makes it harder for the Thalmor to achieve their main goal.

Shouldn't have done it, but equally, shouldn't have been killed for it.

I was sad when he died, I don't think he should have been executed at all to be honest, so he opened a gate letting Ulfric in? Ever think that maybe the high king was a bad man? We never met him so how can we judge his character?? I mean its just like the imperials, at first when I heard all about them I wanted to join them than when I got to meet them and see how they speak about certain matters I hated them, yet they say its for the people? pfff

Am I the only Ulfric supporter here?

The Imperial legion is comprised of all races, and roughly 3/4ths of them in Skyrim are Nords.

Well, it's not a case of him being a traitor. Nord culture dictates that the challenger isn't guilty if he wins, it's a fight to the death, that the High king accepted. What, was Ulfric supposed to allow himself to be killed by the king? No, the danger was equal to both and the same standards applied to both. Had Ulfric died, would the king be held accountable for murder of the Jarl of Windhelm? Of course not. Roggir was murdered by those who disregarded and disrespected the Nord customs to suit their own political and idealogical gains.

How can one murder the king, if the challenge was legal and risk to both?
How can one help a 'murderer', if he wasn't even a murderer.
Case closed.

He definitely deserved it, no matter what side of the war you are on you have to agree with that.
Usually I will hide in a bush when I first walk into solitude and take him out with an arrow.

Spare him a beheading and spare myself and the citizens of Solitude a needlessly long oration.

You can't compare a person who opened a gate, to someone who gave classified nuclear information to the Soviet Union..........

IMO, Roggvir should have been sent to prison, not killed. If he was smart he would have followed Ulfric out the gate though lol.
