Nords don't take slaves. The worst they would have done is denied the Dunmer entry into Skyrim, and killed any who tried to enter anyway. Still I don't see the Nords even doing that. They are honorable, and they are not stupid. Better to let the refugees in than have a war over it. Let them in and then send them on their way.

Nords don't seem like the type to keep slaves. That's an elven thing.

No the Nords should not have enslaved them, they should have cast them out though, Skyrim is overrun with foreigners now, Orcs in strongholds, Dark elves in the East.. It's meant to be the home of the Nords and soon they'll wake up to find it just another bland multiracial Cyrodiil. Cyrodill is the place for multi-culturalism, not Skyrim.

I wonder how long could that work realistically? Just like in real life, every economy has it's unemployed members (ideally between 2% and 5% of the able population) as creating infinite jobs is impossible. That's what keeps motivating the employed people to work hard because there are others in line, waiting for the opportunity to prove their worth.

True enough. Nord have a "anybody is out for himself attitude". They don't take pity easily but are ready to admire anyone (mer or man) that fights his way to the top with honor and courage

The difference is Skyrim is the Nords home. The Dark Elves are just foreigners expecting the red carpet to be rolled out for them, how accepting do you think they would be if hundereds of Nords migrated into Morrowind ?

They got their comeuppance when the Argonians invaded I think. Even then they weren't as cruel as the Dunmer had been to them.

The Argonians tore a path of destruction and pillaging across Morrowind, but didn't keep any land. Once they decided that they were done, they just went back to Black Marsh. And the cowardly lizards did all this after we got our asses handed to us by two natural disasters...

The Dunmer are busy rebuilding their Kingdom on Solstheim. Which we won fair and square with Nord diplomatic strategy.

Because until the city of Vivec fell and Red Mountain erupted, the lizards couldn't have fended off a girl scout troop. The only reason the Argoninas razed the Morrowind countryside is because we were severely weakened by 2 disasters.

Argonians came in like carrion birds who only eat after the animal is dead.

I think it would have been delicious irony if the Argonians and Khajiit had both enslaved the Dunmer, and dragged them all back to their respective homelands for thousands of years of menial labor. That would just be the Dunmer's karma coming back to them.

Now I see no reason for the Nords to have done so however. They have no cause, and it would not be honorable. The Dunmer have been their enemies for thousands of years to be sure, and if the Dunmer had attacked them, then it would have been right and proper for the Nords to kill them all. But since the Dunmer came begging with their hats in hand, they not only confirmed Nordic superiority, but also placed themselves at the mercy the Nords. At that point it became the duty of the Nords to offer whatever hospitality they could.

The Nords enslaved the Falmer, so yes practicing slavery is something that the Nords have done in their past. The Nords have been complete ****s at times along with just about every other race on Nirn.

People seem to cast the ancient nords in some kind of divine light. They invaded a land that was not their own, slaughtered it's population because, mer? yeah...real [censored] honorable...
