Again, don't wrap yourself up in HOW he says it, but what he's saying or what thoughts it invokes in you.

...... No... i think it was perfectly fine...
Maybe i have an "undeveloped" mind (which implies that im either 3 or disabled), but I think Skyrim delivered what we expected.
Sure it had its bad points, but hey, everyone loves a Clishé! For example, if Alduin was pink and fluffy, people would rage a lot more than at his current villainous self. (did the OP ACTUALLY complain about his apearance?...)
Im pretty sure Dwemer have been gone since Morrowind, or before? So why complain about Skyrim's?
I mean, if someone really hates the game THAT MUCH, why even bother play it? I tried playing Mass Effect once. Absolutley hated it. But i understand loads of other people love it. Now instead of going on the ME forrums and ranting about why Bioware are degenerates, i simpley ejected the disk and sold the game, and continued to play games i love.
Oh, and again, i loved Skyrim. Excellent game. Excellent TES. (yeah i said it. Sue me Morrowind fans)

Civilized comment requires civilized reply:

I actually love the Mass Effect series, but I respect your opinion about it. I don't agree with you but I see no reason to try and convince you of my opinion,

I agree, but the nostalgic people absolutly refuse to see reason. I know each game is amazing but still have flaws. It just irratates me that people want nothing other than Morrowind remake. It's a new TES game, so I would think people would expect it to be different.

Bashing again with the nostalgia stick, The phrase has honestly been done to death & serves no purpose other to antagonize & suggest that these "old timers" are stuck in a cycle of crimpoline shirts & flares from the 70's unable to grasp the concept of changing channels on the TV remote.

Morrowind or Oblivion had a massive impact on a lot of people in their time, The depth was amazing & they have witnessed the TES series change for what they view as not for the better, These people are making a noise about it & i respect that although i do not always agree, What i do share with them is their passion for the TES series whether new or old & not mock them as seems to be fashionable thing to do.

That word again, Entitled....It's misuse is giving me a migraine.

I think we've already said everything there is to say.

The people that are pleased with Bethesda's writing seem to be in the vast minority, with most of us agreeing the character design, story archs and voice acting leave something to be desired.
But really, where do we go from here? We've voiced our opinions, but are they gonna hear us out?

I think it's a matter of their own disloyalty to their own lore.
What was your first Elder Scrolls game like? It boggled your mind with the content and you wanted to play it more and more. You were fully immersed in the world and willing to learn the lore because you wanted to fit in with the world.

You second game? The lore you learned is shattered (Morrowind did it, Oblivion did it, Skyrim did it) and it's just not the same. I think that's just a regularity.

Sure I agree, compared to Morrowind (main quest) or Oblivion (the side quests, not the main), Skyrim definitely lacks quality. Morrowind and Oblivion ARE better written. However, I DO think it helps make it that much worse that your second TES game is always going to shatter some lore from your first.

Skyrim's creative minds? Go see Blackreach, it all but has a peace sign to show you. Other than the main quest, they have a collect-the-magic-weed quest there. Ooh, you just blew my mind, Bethesda.

(this might get deleted cus of religious reference... Love you BootySweat <3)
I think we've all learnt something. Everyone has different opinions on things. Now instead of flaming at ranting, we should discuss the cons, as well as the pros, to help make the problems better.
Now can we all hug?
I LOVE YOU GUYS

I'm not trying to mock anyone. I just don't think people should come here just to complain about how Skyrim wasn't exactly like Morrowind. I get it, people loved Morrowind, so why don't they just play it instead of constantly insulting Skyrim. I, like many others love Skyrim, but I also love the other TES games. But I understand that Skyrim ISN'T Morrowind, so I don't expect it to be exactly the same. Each game has it's flaws, I know, even Skyrim does, many of them, and I know that people have their opinions, but why try to make us feel like stupid nothings just because other people liked the "older, more complex" game more?

And has anyone else noticed that before skyrim everyone hated on Oblivion, but now that Skyrim has been released everyone loves Oblivion and hates Skyrim/

well sorry, that's your problem. atleast they aren't making parodies of people they don't agree with (except for DEbunk but atleast he's polite) you didn't even list reasons like the OP of this thread did, all you went on about was how "unrealistic in expectation" people were being and whatever else you were going on about. it would have been just fine here without its own thread.
It would have gone largely unnoticed, and this forum needed a little beacon of hope that everyone didnt hate the game. Could you imagine being a dev, and reading the nonsense being spewed around here? You dump 6 years of your life into a game, spending hours on something like the small details on the hilt of a sword and you get to come here and see that people HATE your game because the characters were too predictable.

Folks, please keep in mind if your comment is not about Skyrim's creative team, then it is off topic, which is considered spam.

Not true. There's still lots of people here that are still very vocal about Oblivion being the abomination of the series. I am not one of them. I do admit it had plaenty of flaws in it, but it in no was was an abomination to the series. Not even Skyrim is, it just kind of fell flat. It's too bad because it could've achieved so much more than it has.

I know, but techniacally all games will fall short of SOMEONEs expectations, for that is the limit of technology. But it erks me when people say it's absolutly terrible (and I know you aren't), when I know an entire development team spent 6 years of their lives making it.

Duke Nukem Forever took fifteen years to make, and we all know how that turned out...

True. I'm just saying that it's possible for a team to spend years making a POS game (not that Skyrim is one).

But, tbh, i think the final version of Duke forever was only made for a couple years

We have been saying for a long time that Bethesda suffers severely in the storytelling department.

I do not know why Gstaff has not passed this feedback back to the devs

Bethesda needs to do something about this poor showing in the narrative arena
