Here here! Agreed!

I think some people expect each and every NPC to tell you their life stories ...

I saw the other thread and didn't even bother entering, but this title made laugh my butt off.

And yes, I agree, Bethesda is amazing.

I just think Bethesda has a "Trying too hard" Complex. The focus outwardly with razzle-dazzle snizzmaloo. Give the most amount of individual "Contents" instead of just making one track of content appealing in many different scenarios.

Fallout 3 may have a fraction of the quests, but I'll play through their Blood Ties quest, Agatha's Song and The Replicated Man quests dozens of times just because they're so well done.

Compared to Skyrim's Blessings of Nature, Forsworn Conspiracy and Lights Out quests... Well, there's really no comparison.

Am I the only person to view the creative minds behind skyrim as... Awesome?

I think the creative minds behind Skyrim inspire "awe".

It is an amazingly well developed world. Very few games like this. And most of them also developed by Bethesda.

There are lots of flaws in Bethesda games, and there are great games that are not Bethesda games. However, that said Bethesda is amazing. These huge, open world, immerse games are the types of games I like. If not for Bethesda I'd be missing out.

I agree that in Skyrim they should have focused the game much more instead of having all these choices but with little depth.

couldn't agree more...the depth and scale of Beth's open world is well worth a few token bugs (which they generally do a good job of jumping on soon after release)

I just started playing the game again last night, and the derp that is the dialogue choices really caught me off guard. Your dialogue options don't sound like things an advlt Dragonborn would say - they sound like questions a child would ask, or things a child would say. They couldn't be more simply written. It was a really disappointing realization for me.

I don't think quality writing is first on the list when Bethesda create the TES games, To me it's more about the setting & atmosphere with a twist of light fantasy.
Bethesda put their writing hats on in the Fallout series as far as i'm concerned.

I never expected high quality writing in Skyrim so i'm not too disappointed by it, Would have been nice though.

The writers did well considering the split between Stormcloaks and Imperials on this forum

Some people are too nostalgic and some people continue to defend Skyrim to their last breath.

My first TES was Morrowind (Xbox) then got the GOTY (also Xbox) after that got Oblivion (360) and got all of its DLC.
Now I have Skyrim.

Morrowind had its flaws from its awful gameplay mechanics (I had to use a glitch to hit a rat with a sword that was 3 inches from my face), the plots was great and same with some of the factions. Oblivion repaired the gameplay and created an interesting plot, not truly unique but still interesting. I didn't like how they remove vampire factions and seemed to butcher that race but still it was a solid game. Skyrim, underwhelming climix but still solid; the factions seemed watered down to some extent but ended in a good way. The dragons can get annoying but can also be an interesting challenge.

I do think all of the games are great but they aren't without their flaws.

Well what do you expect, all you folks are doing is more or less making fun/construing basis/statements -for no reason- if you had a point, go make it in the other thread instead of spamming. this is where that negative positive garbage is spawning from because folk seem to be compelled to make anti-threads instead of throwing their two cents into a preexisting one, there's no such thing is Negative/Positive only threads so can this silly dichotomy take a rest.

and if you read the thread instead of being more fanatical in nostalgia, than the people you claim are nostalgic you'd realize that thread was about Skyrim and Skyrim only when the OP made it....

Have you seen my father, Middle aged guy? Looks like me...Sound familiar? It should.

Bethesda isn't exactly well known for their stellar writing skills, That's no secret, but Skyrim's writing is still poor by even their already low standards.

I agree, but the nostalgic people absolutly refuse to see reason. I know each game is amazing but still have flaws. It just irratates me that people want nothing other than Morrowind remake. It's a new TES game, so I would think people would expect it to be different.

oh look an anti-thread.

oh look no discussion going on.

oh LOOK a thread talking about folks in another thread

productivity = 0
And the productivity in the other thread? All i'm seeing over there is unrealistic expectations and entitled people.

There is a way to discuss differences of opinion without resorting to personal insults, which typically result in warning and suspension from the forum.

If you want to discuss your opinions about "Skyrim's Creative Minds" in a civil manner, I've merged these two threads about the same subject.

well sorry, that's your problem. atleast they aren't making parodies of people they don't agree with (except for DEbunk but atleast he's polite) you didn't even list reasons like the OP of this thread did, all you went on about was how "unrealistic in expectation" people were being and whatever else you were going on about. it would have been just fine here without its own thread.

Ahhh Morrowind i loved that game... still do... yes sometimes when you play skyrim you do wonder why there are things they done 9 years ago which are now missing or not implemented even half as well...
But then you see some amazing stuff and think, well they were certainly busy doing something, so it makes up for flaws in other areas of the game.

What's so unrealistic about wanting the developers to uphold what made this series so great in the first place, instead of trampling all over it.
