Smelly Passenger Kicked off Flight

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 4:29 am

I don't think that annoying people should be kicked off a plane just because there not as "perfect" as everyone else on the plane is and kicking him off for is BO is a bit extreme, maybe ask that he sprays himself with something? Like deodorant? and if not then kick him off (assuming he doesn't have some type of problem where he can't control his smell)

Actually, if you want to keep the seat next to you free, it's better to pat the seat invitingly and smile at people like this... :hubbahubba:

That is excellent advice!

cheers m8 :foodndrink:

I would agree to this only if he does it, and only if it succeeds in getting rid of this BO. Also this is like a record breaker BO. Do you think this some ordinary smell? When they say BAD BO they [censored] mean it. Probably makes Gen Con smell like a rose, and that place is notorious for being one of the smelliest places on earth.

If they kick him off they should kick off people who use so much perfume or cologne that if they stand still they leave a puddle. It all stinks. :yuck:

Agreed. And then they need to kick off those who are offensive to others. People are so sensitive these days. What happened to just enduring it like a man.

Have you forgotten already? They went on an exodus to the core of the planet where they now reside.

Seems fair to me if they reimbursed him or rescheduled him for a time later that day, so he could atleast just shower and get to where he needs to.

I agree with kicking him out. There are people who get whiffy no matter how much they keep to personal hygiene but I reckon the man in the article hasn't washed himself nor his clothes for a great while if he reeked badly enough to get kicked off a flight. I remember one time on a bus (that drove to the hospital of course) there was an old lady huffing in my face with her disgustingly bad breath for the entire trip. Maybe that was her way of making me get off my seat, I don't know. Sooo, maybe the man from the article wanted the flight all to himself?

Sounds relatively fair, so long as he was reimbursed for the cost of his ticket/rescheduled after he'd had time to shower.

I have no sense of smell, either that or my brain simply doesn't differentiate between different smells. The end result anyway is that I wouldn't even know he smelled bad. So i wouldn't care, though I can see the reasoning behind it, a minimum of personal hygiene isn't to much to expect.

Dunk him in the toilet, like when we went to high school for the first time. Everyone has fun seeing if he floats, man gets to destination and may well wash next time.

I can see both sides of things here, but I'm going to bash the airline. I've been around plenty of annoyances on a plane, but when the rationale given was "safety" surrounding a friggen smelly person, it immediately made laugh and roll my eyes at the same time. Was stinky going to light the plane on fire with his smell? Was a terrorist attack going to be invoked upon that plane vicariously through his odor? No? Then deal with annoyances that everyone else has to and quit whining. Instead of playing the politically correct bs game, the airline should have handed those whiners a complimentary gas mask and a smack upside the head with a bag of peanuts.

I've gotten nauseous from sitting behind an old woman who smelled like rotting fish sprayed with perfume, covered in greasy hair and lit on fire. Its a very valid concern and if somebody smells THAT bad, as in "bad enough to be kicked off an airplane", they need to be removed, asked to wash the hell up, and be put on another flight free of charge.

That description actually made me gag a little bit :<

on topic: What the airline said about the customers comfort or whatever being top priority is completely right. They didn't pay to sit behind a guy that smells "brutal" according to the article.

Would you please stop? In developed nations such as Canada and America, it is expected of people to bathe.

Now, back on topic. I wonder if they are going to create procedures to deal with instances such as this. Are they going to move them to a different area instead? Perhaps they could isolate them? I know that sounds mean... but... no one wants to smell other people.
