Snow At Last, Snow At Last

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 2:10 pm

So anyone in the Denver area ought to know by now that there's been quite a bit of snowfall in recent hours, and school closures are likely. Anyone else out there receiving snow yet? I know it was mentioned in a previous thread but is anyone hopeful for snow between now and Skyrim's release?

I had a little bit of snow one morning but it's just been raining a lot lately. Not really looking forward to it because its going to be around for so many months.

No snow in the Valley of the Sun, but grew up in the Midwest so I know about having to get up early to shovel the driveway. But, yeah, it'd be nice to look out my window and have the weather match Skyrim's.

What the hell is this 'snow' you speak of...
Slushy water is the best we can do in central Texas, least where I live.

Don't really care for snow before Nov 1st...dried leaves are my preferred ground cover till then. I'm from WI tho, so I remember getting an inch or so in the second week of October a few years back, but this year is much more mild. It was in the 80's about 3 weeks ago.

I live in Missouri and it was just 87 degrees today. I'm hoping for a lot of snow to come soon though. I love cold weather, and snow would put me in the Skyrim mood for sure :)

:shakehead: Snow, half of my life has been spent in the stuff. I really dont' mind the snow itself, it's the cold that comes along with it, and stays for what seems like an eternity. Snow, why do you have to torture me so? Hehe, I think that may be the only complaint that I have about skyrim at this point, it's set in the north, there will be a lot of snow, and for someone that sees as much of the stuff as I do, well, would have been nice to go south. But, Skyrim is going to still be awsome, and I am going to love it so I can overlook this small detail. :celebration: This will be my last snowfilled winter anyways, (moving south in the spring) so bring it on!

Yeah snow! I live in Grand Junction so not too far from ya. We're just getting a ton of rain and wind right now, and it's cold, but not like in Denver. I don't think we'll get any snow over here before Nov 11th, unfortunately. Or is it fortunately since I would have to drive in the stuff everyday? Haha.

To be fair, I'm in the foothills of the mountains so I can see snow, I just don't have to deal with it until Skyrim :)

It snowed at the beginning of the month here (5" here, 10+" in the nearby peaks), but it's since melted. Had sleet today...nights are getting cold enough to get snow if it precipitates... Lows around 8 to 10F (-13 to -12C) Probably have tons of snow by the time Skyrim rolls around.

Why do people like snow?
Its cold, it's wet, its slippery, it creates huge problems for transportation, be it public transportation or your own car...
it's just horrible in every way shape and form.

Snowboarding and skiing is fun. My dogs like it (for a while)... Snow isn't really all that slippery. It's the ice from melting during the day (and refreezing during the night) that's slippery. I've never had a problem with transportation or my own car/SUV, I think most people where I live don't have problems either. As soon as a few inches of snow fall, the army of snowplowers and sand spreaders are out there keeping it clear.

It's too early for snow here in the Pacific Northwest. And anyways, I only want snow if high winds don't accompany it (usually does here). Otherwise, I want no part of it, haha.

I live in Newfoundland, and our weather is really dumb. No one can predict the snow. I remember when I was little, we'd get tons and tons of it like, a month before December, even before November sometimes, and it wouldn't go away for literally months.

Last Christmas? We didn't even get snow until a month after Christmas, and it went away about two weeks later. I personally hope we get lots this Christmas. I love snow for some reason. I love the cold, too.

Man, Christmas without snow feels really awkward and not that fun.

I liked snow a lot more until we had a winter with TONS of the stuff in early 2010, and then the really horrible confluence of snowy circumstances that lead to myself (and many others here) having a 5 - 13 hour commute home this past winter.

Hmm..cross country skiing, snowboarding and so forth? quite a lot of fun to do in the snow! And it doesn't create much problems for cars if u just have some good tires and know haw to drive on snow and ice :) I live in the mountains of norway so quite used to snow, and love it. Awaiting the first snowfall any day now. Every day I look out the window it could just as easily be Skyrim :)

I agree 100%!

I'm in MN and it hasn't snowed yet but I'm sure it will near Thanksgiving. I really hope it does because you can't have Christmas without snow.
