Some new gameplay footage...

I remember someone saying they hoped the Nightkin would stalk and ambush players...
seems around 1:10 in the video the Nightkin at least tried to surprise him .-.

Oh snap you're right I didn't notice that.

What was that weird looking energy weaponin the pip-boy menu? It was kinda like a Gatling Laser held like a rifle.

^ I was wondering the same.

And the game is looking great. Noticed the improved animations the second the mutant started running. Really loving it.

I think it might have been a Tri-Beam Laser Rifle since it said it did 29.1 X 3 DAM (meaning 3 shots of 29.1 damage which is consistent with the Fallout 3 Tri-Beam). That or it's something completely different.

Pretty cool, the nightkin look awesome. I like thier colour better than the normal mutants. And did anyone notice it said the weapons damage and then it's damage per second? Pretty cool!

Ohi guys, don't worry too much about what the guy there in the preview says, it's all stuff that's already been said (Fallout 3's gameplay systems were perfect and Obsidian didn't want to reinvent them, the desert looks beautiful, people in Vegas dress elegantly, even robots and 'we killed some powerful supermutants with some precise shots of a weapon that looked like a plasma weapon').

..Can't really help with the Japanese.

Ugh, but four shots with a 50 cal in the head to kill a mutie? I hope he was playing on normal.

None of those looked like clean head shots.

EDIT: Also that's a veteran of the Master's army, not some raider scrub rolling out of bed. He's probably carrying more lead in his lower GI tract than that Anti-Materiel rifle has in a full mag.

That wasn't really a problem for me. I thought the super mutants in Fallout 3 were a little too weak, save for the Overlords. Judging by the fact the character was a level 20, it seems the muties will pose more of a threat this time, especially for inexperienced characters.

Is just me or have the graphics really picked up from PAX? The Muties faces look different to, in a good way.

all in all looks sweet, only thing I need to see is a wearable eyepatch (that doesn′t cover the eye you aim with ;p) in a demo and I′m in heaven :3

Oh my God, Plasma Caster to the face, without the head actually flying off, does this mean the dismemberment system has been vastly improved so that there wont be any blatant limb dismemberment? Like how a shot to your face with a single pistol round separates your neck and head?

After watching this video for the twentieth time I can say with a lot of confidence that this game has far surpassed FO3 in the all respects that we've seen, I'm thinking dialogue is also going to be vastly improved. (From what I've seen so far.) :tops:

Why the hell can't sniper rifles hurt things at long distance? Isn't that their purpose?

By the way, any idea what the number near the skill icon means? I thought it was the number of points in the skill the weapon used, but it seems to change between various weapons of the same category so it's not that.

Guns skill must be low.

If that was in first person and me playing, I would be [censored]ting my pants.

i second this. mainly because i'm jumpy as hell by nature. i can see myself yelling in surprise from being ambushed by a nightkin

Hmm. So... Since super mutants are sort of built up with bullets from past battles we can call them cyborgs then?

And it looks like the vegetation(pretty sure there was some cacti there) is looking good too.

+1

Agree the game is looking really good - this must be the final cut by now.

Really dissapointing. Look at around 1:52, third person up close. Reticle is directly on target, fires tons of shots, none hit. Then he dies in one hit in VATS. Seems like third person is as crappy as ever.

Looking good.

The Super Mutants look very well detailed compared to Fallout 3's Super Mutants. And those blue Super Mutants look awesome :)

actually they do hit, that′s why it dies in one headshot, because the other shots widdled down it′s health.

He shoots on full auto in third person, about 5 times. Then goes into 1st person (because its not working), shoots him once, and his health goes down a 3rd.

It clearly was not hitting.

I saw the video a 3rd time, it′s hard to see but if you look really close you can see the mutant health go down during the 3rd person shooting, so he is hitting and he is damaging it.

sorry to disappoint you but it looks like you claim that 3rd person shooting svcks is wrong :P
