Some new gameplay footage...

Guns skill must be low.

I think the skill was set at 100. Not surprising since it was a level 20 character. I'm kind of glad that they didn't cater to the Guns crowd by giving OHKs with the AMR. That takes integrity.

One hit kill and Anti Material Rifle. Sorry, I'm kind of starting to abbreviate things a little much now.

Didnt they say there are Anti Material Rifles in the game? Or is that just what people around here were hoping for?

Metal doesnt make you a cyborg, it just makes you airport securitys worst nightmare

Hmm. In fallout 2 you could bring marcus to Vault City and have a doctor remove all the bullets inside him which earned the player a fair amount of ammo.
I hope we can do the same with Lily.

The super mutants look amazing. I like the armor and detail work quite a bit more than what they started with. Also, it is very very hilarious/cool to see a huge-ass super mutant cycling the action on a tiny little rifle. It is amazing what a difference animation makes.

I rewatched the video and can't see anything unusual. What I did notice is how much more aggressive the Super Mutants are. If they are melee, they CHARGE you, like RIGHT DAMN NOW. And if they are ranged, they'll take a shot, walk toward you while they cycle the action, take a shot and keep on comin'. Very cool stuff. Overall they feel much more menacing. I also like when the eye-patched mutant gets into melee range and starts wailing on the PC, with each hit the camera gets knocked around and makes it difficult for the player to re-orient. Definitely adds some (appropriate) intimidation.

The gameplay video is rather intresting : SM looks pretty good, animations are improved as well as the graphics.

Nevertheless, one thing annoys me : why do we only have some unofficial offscreen gameplay footage ? The game will be out in less than a month, and all we've got is three shorts videos (and one only made of CGIs with no actual gameplay). I remember that FO3 had a few official videos showing gameplay two months before its release. Some games will be released in more than a year and they have more gameplay videos than FNV.

Moreover, Zenimax censors almost every unofficial videos on youtube. Aren't these a good way to promote the game ? I don't understand Zenimax's "Big Brotherish" attitude.

To sum-up : please Obsidian/Bethesda marketing team, wake up !

Anyone notice that the strength requirement for the anti material rifle was 8? That's pretty much a "big gun." Maybe that won't be my gun of choice....

I guess that makes sense for a gun of that caliber. I was planning on using that gun on my smart n sneaky small guns character, but with 8 strength needed it might be back to the ol' hunting rifle.

Thanks again for posting the vid.

umm, yes for a sneak play through. Victory / Reservist rifle was great for a sneak + small guns character. I was hoping the anti-material would be in the same style. Haven't heard anything on any thing on the strength requirements on other sniper rifles.

Considering it is based on the Barrett, which can kill at over a mile away, I'd say it is pretty sneaky in spite of the big boom.

The AMR is not based on a Barrett rifle, but on a French-made .50 BMG anti-materiel rifle.

Isnt there a type of silencer made for the .50 BMG? or am I just imagining that?

By the way, any idea what the number near the skill icon means? I thought it was the number of points in the skill the weapon used, but it seems to change between various weapons of the same category so it's not that.
