Post » Sat May 26, 2012 8:42 am

Heya Core! Nice Skeever! Maybe give it a black nose and lips just like a lot of polar creatures.

BTW: You can use any of the variants you like for SCA if you want.

Well, I'm not sure how much they are spawned ingame but just look at the loadscreen with the wolves when you get the chance.

Nah, cows are already in http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/images/3621-3-1324966171.jpg and are too rare to be needing any more variation. Wolves are so common that you can never have too much variety!

I don't have it. I got the BellyAche from the AV thread, there were no cows in it. Where do I download it and how do I integrate it into AV?

You can get the mod from SkyrimNexus and follow the instructions for modders in the AV readme.

Wolves will be released soon! I finished 4 variants for the Frost Wolves as well, I especially like the versions with the subtile spots very much, as it makes them much more distinct from the normal wolves.

The Vanilla Black Wolves only spawn at certain locations along with the red ones has well. You need a mod like Creature Alive to have them spawn in certain regions..

=========

Starx, I am thnking about replacing the Frost Wolf to be something more arctic look..that is bright to go along with http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/images/69-2-1328840826.jpg

Good point, Core. AV only adds variants to existing setups; It can't differentiate between colors and/or put them in different areas without prior intervention. If you add a reddish wolf, it will spawn everywhere the original seed was.
Core's mod (and others like it) that hand places different "strains" of wolves and other actors will provide a different (and much needed) contribution to the whole variants ideal.

I don't have it. I got the BellyAche from the AV thread, there were no cows in it. Where do I download it and how do I integrate it into AV?

Yeah, I only built the Bellyaches AV package to have about half of her creatures. Both her and I have been extremely busy and haven't been able to FULLY transfer her setup to an AV Package. I'm planning to soonish, if I can find the time.

Wolves are lookin' nice, Star! 8) And yeah, more variations the better, for sure.

Yea, well, I'm too dumb and not a modder, sorry. I rely on others unfortunately :(

@sounaipr: Want a fair anwser? No, you're not too dumb, either you're just afraid to try it or you don't feel like doing it because you just want to install the mod and play the game. I understand though, but it does mean you will allways depend on others to do things.

No one that started modding had it easy, it's pretty intimidating at first. But once you get started, it becomes more fun than playing the game. Just give it a try and don't be afraid to ask.

Amen, StarX!

I was thinking about it a bit more, and I retract my previous post. I think AV -can- handle region specific variants without hand-tweaking esps.

Before it couldn't... but with 1.1, now that the variant is actually set using in-game scripts packages could have a list of (ex/in)clusive regions and the race switching script could check against that and in/exclude the desired variants.

So, lets say you only wanted your neon pink wolves to spawn on planet Neon, you would just specify the planet Neon formIDs (or some identification) to the spec file, and the in-game script would block the neon wolves from being variants, unless the PC was in that area.

Might even go as far as to make extremely exclusive specs too (optional).. where you could specify in the Neon wolves spec that they were the ONLY ones allowed to spawn on planet Neon, and AV would automatically block other (normal) variants. That could be dangerous given a greedy AV Packager.. but we won't worry about that. XD

Just theory at this point, but Egads!, I'm getting butterflies.

Imma repost this on the AV forum, as I guess it's better suited there.

Lol, I don't want to do skeevers and mudcrabs! Though a naked skeever would be cool!

Bellyache's sabrecats are very good, but I want to base my own textures on that of a lynx.

Well, can you incorporate bellyache's into yours? I don't think it will work if I have bellyaches sabercats and your simultaneously running.

Besides, come on, mudcrabs are dime a dozen at every stream, creek, pond and ocean. They're everywhere, and they all look the same. :(

Uhm, you do realise that's what Automatic Variants has been created for in the first place, don't you? So you can use multiple textures at the same time....

Mudcrabs are in Bellyache's package as well, so no need for me to do them at this point. Besides, there are much more interresting creatures I want to do!

Yes, mutliple textures at the same time, I get it. But from different packages?

And again, the Mudcrabs may be in Bellyaches package, but said package is not an AV package. And not everybody can mod and write code.

Yup, that's exactly what AV is for: you can use different packages together and AV integrates them all into your game. So you can use Bellyache's and mine together.

Well, than you'll have to wait until Leviathan or someone else creates a package for the mudcrabs. There's really no use in pressing the point at the moment, as I will not do anything with the mudcrabs for now. Maybe at some point I will, but no promises.

Hi! I wanted to ask if you could have a mirror of your uploads? I am unable to even browse the TesAlliance website, I'm not sure why. The thing is I can see the forums, but the moment I registered and logged in an account there everything says "You do not have permission on this forum". I can't even see the Help documentation!

I've tried multiple browsers, Chrome, Firefox, IE9. Nothing works. I don't understand why logging in causes the entire site to block me :/

So I want to try your packages, but Tesalliance, I have no idea what's wrong with it. I finally managed to email an admin, but nothing came out of it.

That's strange. Did you get your email verification mail to validate your account?

Trollf!!!

What's with the new name? I'm glad you kept your awesome avatar, otherwise I wouldn't have known. Well, the Director's Tools mod would ring a bell maybe. :P

Yup, mudcrabs are tasty, especially for Argonians!

Just tested it ingame and works fine for me. Must be something wrong with your AV setup.

I did; I also asked for password recovery several times and that did work, sent me an email. But the moment I logged in, I can't see the website anymore. I asked Bellyache for help and he/she said there was trouble making an account on his end as well, so it might be my account is corrupted, or something. I'll try remaking a new account and see how it goes.

Ah, I see. Let me know how that goes and if it still doesn't work I'll inform the site owner (DarkRider) to see what can be done.

Before you do that, PM me here with your user ID on TESA and I'll help you out :)

Thanks InsanitySorrow, able to use TESA perfectly fine now :D

Going to download all the packages StarX :3

Though I have a question about the skins, if you don't mind. Right now I'm using the Monster Retex Mod (hasn't been updated in ages). I like the normals he made for several mobs, and some of the HD quality on the vanilla skins. If I were to use his texture replace, in addition to the AV packages, would AV read the texture replacers as 'vanilla' skins and rotate the mobs using them and the ones from the AV packages?

Or would I have to replace the normals files in say, Bellyaches, if I wanted to use them instead?
