[RELzWIPz] StarX AV Packages - Creature Variants

Post » Sat May 26, 2012 11:49 am

I'm not sure Gory textures really fit the Draugr - They are for all intents and purposes heavily mummified/perserved corpses. I think the gore textures really undermines the effect they're supposed to have.
Well, you could also say that not all the workers responsible for the mummifying process in those ancient times were as professionals. Some of them may had two left hands, thus the good preservation of the corpses failed in some cases ;]

These orc style falme make no sense whatsoever. There's a reason why falmers don't have eyes.

Maybe not, but feel free to pick any of the tons of other Draugr color retexes if you want to make your AV package. There's not much that can be done with those dried out mummies anyway, except than changing the color a little, so I opted for a more zombified/gory look.

Than don't use them. I don't cater exclusively to the lore lovers. It's just my personal preference, you can use the more lore correct package I released earlier. I simply enjoy making them like that and as I very well understand that they are not "lore friendly" I don't expect people to comment on that part, especially since I released the other package before starting on this one. It may not make sense to you, but if I want my Falmer to look like that it makes more than enough sense to me.

All in all, regarding to the two above posts: I make my textures the way I want them, either because I enjoy the challenge and the proces of creating such textures or because I simply want them like that in my own game. Don't like it? Don't use it... simple.

There's a bug with your gory draugr variant, and I'm pretty sure this bug is with any draugr variant:

Notice the shoulders? They're armor usually. But in the variant case they all have flesh textures on them.

Thanks! Play the main quest and you'll encounter more than enough of the buggers.

Sigh...You reported exactly the same bug a while ago and I told you to report it in the main AV thread and I will tell you the same thing again... This is something releated to the program and not the package..

Aw, I made them especially for you!

Turned the new Falmer into Goblins: http://i.imgur.com/OVWGa.jpg

Will make variants for both the goblins and the frost giants and add them to the game through a plugin. Not exactly sure how, but I have some ideas!

@StarX. Another dutchie using your AV packages. Have used your Giants earlier but now I've installed all packages (also porscha's and insanity's packages). One word: AMAZING. Leviathan has created a superb programs which enhances SKyrim extremely. Ones all the kinks are ironed out and its being put on the Nexus can't even start to imagine how popular its going to be. In that case its very reasonable to assume that other authors/modders will be making (or others may help them, hint hint) AV packages for their textures. Like you said there are quite a few modders who have created textures for NPC's...

Hope you keep having FUN with the packages and keep creating them.

Also AFAIK Leviathan will be procucing an AV version in the future were every AV package can be enabled/disabled (even textures inside a package). This will allow (in an easy way) all people to tune AV to their liking. Please keep creating AV packages the way you see fit and have the community use whatever they like. This also goes for Porscha and Insanity. GREAT work and keep 'm coming. Don't let bad comments stop you from producing AMAZING STUFF. Very much appreciated what you ALL are doing.

Bedankt! Glad you like using all the packages and yeah, once it's on Nexus things will go fast. Good thing AV is now only known here and it's packages at TESA, as it will save us all a lot of frustration with AV still being Alpha. And no worries, I will keep making new AV packages for a while, as I simply like doing so. Even with comments that are stating the obvious! :P

Imgur behaves a bit weird at times. Better to check out the update anyway:

Very likely indeed! :P

The base texture for the Goblins is finished, now I can make me some variants for both the Frost Giants and the Goblins and add them to the game.

I like! Of course, these would look even better with some goblin armor thrown on them. Right now they still kind of feel too Falmery.

Morrowind Tribunal

yea some goblins from The Elder Scrolls Morrowind Tribunal would be dope. They were about up to your waist i think if I am remembering correctly, and they had many clothes and armor variants a lot of shields if i remember right. and thanks for making all these variants that is ridiculously sick. i haven't downloaded any of them yet because i have been unable to play skyrim for a while but am about to download them all. I cant wait to play! thanks again.

Thanks! I would also like to add some unique armor to the goblins, but my modeling skills aren't good enough for that. Will ask around a bit to see if someone can lend a hand.

for the goblins....don't know what the plan is (also was too lazy to read through all the posts) but maybe you should use them seperately and give them a bit of nice background...Goblins should be found at the Cyrodiil Skyrim border (since we know there are Goblins in Cyrodiil)....you could create some new dungeons/caves or even small valleys (interiors) in the Jerall Mountains and add different goblin tribes (like Wac did with the Goblin camps) ...such a project could always be extended with new content (even with quests and special encounters)....

cheers

Hey! You forgot to add spoiler tags! :P

But on a serious note: Yup, I already figured goblin lairs or strongholds should be near the Jerall mountains, as there were enough goblin clans in that region in Oblivion. I can tell they will get their unique weapons and maybe some new armor.
