Stormcloak victory canon

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 10:35 am

I'm not going to use spoiler tags, so don't bother reading if you are going to be upset.

The game hints pretty heavily to me that the Stormcloaks are going to win in the future lore. The elves are invading Tamriel, and the Dragonborn carries the axe of Wuuthrad who rid Skyrim of elves in the past. The empire is crumbling, the Emperor is assassinated, and Skyrim seems to be pro-Stormcloak for the most part.

I don't see any indication that the Empire will exist in in the next ES, at least the Empire we know of now.

Agree. I think they're setting up the next game to involve crushing the Thalmor and reforging the Empire. But that might just be wishful thinking on my part.

Things do come to an end (Like the Roman Empire did)

It then gives lots of material for the game makers to develop. The focus will be on what will come after the Empire once the Thalmor have been defeated.

This. As much as the Empire lovers would try to fight and deny it to the very end, there are too many hints in this game and previous games that the Empire is about to collapse. That plus the fact that a Stormcloak victory means many story opportunities are available make a Stormcloak victory much more likely to be made canon.

No Empire reforging. If they want to kill it, I hope it's finished off completely.

I think the civil war will be decided in one of the DLCs.Whatever happens in it will be canon.

you can topple a corrupt empire, but you can't erradicate a true rebellion, and whateve ulfrics motives his men truly beleive in what they are fighting for.

Why re-forge the empire? An alliance of free nations is what I would like to see.

agreed as well. perhaps next chapter in TES would be involving the fight against the oppression of the Aldmeri Dominion, basically picking up where the Great War ended with that stupid White-Gold Concordat Treaty. unlikely it would be DLC as they would need to be tricky to set that up for people who had sided with the Empire in their playthrough, but you never know. (Im still crossing my fingers they will bring the Dwemer back in the DLC, or something more about them .) It is clear to me they are hinting towards this like you all said, and I am new to TES, never played at all 'till 11/11/11, and have not put it down for a waking minute since! It's too bad because I like the Empire, I just don't like the Thalmor and the rest of the Aldmeri Dominion. Maybe that's it, they will have us wipe out the A.D in the next game and then re-forge the new Empire with a new Emperor. (like in actual History.)

yea it would be pretty ace if the Aldmeri dominion ends up pulling out a secret weapon and the rest of the nations fight together to wipe them out, while each province retaining its own individual laws, gods, peeking order ect.

My guess is this is what most people think will happen to the Empire in the next games: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEBLOSkBMZ4

Oh please. You can join the Legion in Skyrim just as you can join the Stormcloaks, they won't have just one of the opposing factions winning be canon. It may be the Aldmeri invade and neither really win, or the Empire falls and Skyrim gets plot nuked, but it won't be clear victory for either side.

The Empire's been part of every game, I think it will stick around in some form. And my opinion is just as valid as yours in thinking canon is Stormcloak victory, ultimately it's all up to the devs.

@Leold - I think you're correct. But I wouldn't want to bet on it - nor would I want to bet that IF you're correct, things will be as cut and dried as you think. Personally, I have NO use for Ulfric and the Stormcloaks. But I bet that's not going to matter....

lol its funny cuz he said "peeking" order. I know what the Nord's of Skyrim would be peeking @! a big Nord woman with a beard sharpening her axe in private!

This what I'll do if I could in Skyrim...

1: Help Stormcloaks and Defeat the Empire.
2: Kill the Blades (They will get in my way)
3: Keep Paarthurax alive and let him get all, or most, of the remaining dragons to become one with the way of the voice.
4: Get all these dragons to ally with the Nords of Skyrim.
5: Nords + Dragons VS Thalmor.
6: After defeating the Thalmor, repair the Empire with an Emperor who has the Dragon Blood (Most likely having a Son to do it)

Stormcloak victory is Thalmor victory.

ya i forgot about the secret you learn inside the Thalmor Embassay.
Spoiler
About Ulfric Stormcloak being a Thalmor Asset/Informer, yes it says he's been dark for some time but...
Hmmm.. I wonder if the dev's will touch on that again, they have to right? It was such a big suprise and then I never heard anything else about it!

Any thoughts anyone??

I'm not a fan of Ulfric so I would prolly remove him after the Stormcloaks win. It really doesn't matter, I think the Dragons can slaughter the Thalmor on their own.

If he is still alive this piece of info could be used to either convince him to renounce his claim or be given to some one to discredit Ulfric

thats true. i guess maybe this was like a bigger deal to me than other people maybe, cuz i was really expecting to see it play a big part of the game, like a double cross or triple cross or anything! i mean he says hes fighting for the soldiers that came home to find strangers in their land, thats the Thalmor! but then he is or was working for/with them! i mean, c'mon! how can they just set that up and then leave it! idk who knows, we'll see what happens i suppose.
