Here is an extreemly overthought opinion.
Imperial:
_Employs
Swordsmen-(melee)
Mages-(Special Range)
Archers-(Range)
Horse back riders-(Special unit)
Caesar employs:
Melee-(melee)
guns-(range)
Snipers-(special range)
Distinct imperial advantages:
Use of invisibility spells, and much better area of effect spells
Large speed bonus, both on foot, and on horse
caesars distinct advantages:
Guns, would normally be a no fuss victory, however lets not forget inaccuracy, condition, (special) ammo, etc.
Snipers (assuming they would recieve the best ammo they could be supplied)
Special weapons (special things fusion reactors can give you)
Assuming a 100-vs-100 battle
Imp. mages cast invisibility upon some melee units, and themselves
Caes. Snipers kill a few mages before invisibility
Imp. invisible melee's get a drop on them, dealing quite a few damage on legion forces considering only 10-15 of them
Imp. Archers fire a volley, few casulaties taken
