I was planning on waiting for the first couple of patches to come out, but I don't think I can. I recently picked up Fallout New Vegas to keep me occupied until Skyrim comes out, so I'll probably wait until I have completed New Vegas at least.

Im going to appreciate the game for what it is and not what random other people make of it. I want The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, not The Modded Scrolls V: Heavily modified Skyrim.
Firstly, awesome Avatar :D and secondly to the OP, even though God willing I will play this game on 11/11/11, the thought of someone else waiting 6 months to play it bothered me man! DON'T DO IT! :ahhh:

Who said anything about pirating?
No one but I've seen enough threads like this that lead down that road prehemtive strike, that's why I didn't aim it at anyone, directly, just the ppl who know who they are, the reason that games are so pricey. When I here pc user talking about the usability or quality or cost of perfectly good material that's alarm bells in my head gives ppl the idea "yeah maybe I won't get it on launch not pc centric to buggycrappywahwah" in some people minds will evolves easily into "im not paying for this not pc centric to buggycrappywahwah" which is bad spoiling the industry with high prices drm and other annoyances.
So 'no' I don't support not buy the game. I'll get it for xbox, the platform it was designed around, on release, then pc in the new year when I get my new pc.

No disrespect dude but I think you are wrong with your decision if it is even towards your beloved elder scrolls. EVEN if it is a bad game you should pre-order to give support to Bethesda and the Elder Scrolls series. IMO.

You would do the same after purchasing a game that didn't even run on your pc (one and a half months after buying it I managed to play), yes I'm serious.

Don't know, didn't find a reason (graphics card was ok,far above minimum requirements, etc) after the third patch I could play so, I made this rule .
I have an xbox too man, but it's not my prefered medium for playing rpgs.

I'm not going to wait seeing as how I've already paid in full preordered it but if bethesda Skyrim is anything like thier most recent released products then I might be a little pissed off. And dont stand there and defend them, they put thier logo on the box and featured the product on thier website it's a [censored] sandwich and Bethesda and the rest of them can open up and sure as hell take a bite

Yeah sometimes I think certain software doesn't run with certain other software or hardware...hence that could happen.
Anyway dont be bitter if you are :) And if you want to take my advice pre-order, you will prob help ES and Bethesda and I think be happier yourself especially if it works right away :) Also I suggest you use the Will skyrim run on my pc (or something like that) thread to make sure that your pc with its software and hardware is good. You have over a month so that should be a great way to keep you busy.

I will definitely start playing on day one but I will probably start enjoying the game a few months later once the modding community picks up.

If it's not worth playing Vanilla, it's not worth modding.

If it's not worth playing with bugs, it's not worth waiting for a patch.

And if you're on these forums planning on waiting 6months after launch day to play it, you're not worth talking to.

There is a reason that Oblivion is the most modded game in the history of modded games. OOO, MMM, Deadly Reflex, Unofficial Oblivion Patch, DarNified UI, OBGE, Qarl's Textures, CM partners, AWLS, Oblivion Stutter Remover, Streamline, Fast Exit, Keychain Mod, Supreme Magicka, Reneers Guard Overhaul, ImpeREAL City, Francesco's Mod, and these are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to making a more awesome Oblivion. I had nearly 200 mods installed in my Oblivion directory and none of them were anything concerning the size of body parts.

Games like this ARE MADE to be modded. There are SOOOOO many flaws and bugs in open world games like this and SOOO many things which can be made more realistic or just more logical. From the stealth system, to damage calculations, to spell physics (no more flying ragdolls), to the range that those stupid guards can hear people shouting ''THIEF", there is absolutely no reason why modding a game like Skyrim could be viewed as anything but awesome. Unless you are just an impatient 12 year old who wets his pants at night thinking about dragons...

I will be waiting for some good mods to come out before playing skyrim, since I know exactly what mods can do for it. There are many aspects of the game which I have seen to be disappointing or lacking in polish. I've been gaming for over 20 years I think i can wait a few more months to experience the most wicked RPG to ever exist in all its glory.

Wake up and smell what the modders are cooking.

Of course I'll be waiting. Bethesda games launch riddled with bugs and performance issues, so I'll watch for that to get patched out, then I'll wait for modders to fix some of the bad things the game will inevitably have, whether that's toning down the level scaling, improving the draw distance, fixing rain inside houses, improving the crime system, or adding back in features that shouldn't have been cut.. giving it six months will do wonders. I didn't do that for Oblivion and I regret it, because I got so burned out on the game that modding didn't even bring me any joy from it. I will NEED a mod that gets rid of the compass, day 1. And maybe fix those stupid floaty physics, why can't Bethesda get that right yet?

The amount of attacks in this thread is INSANE. This thread is FOR THOSE WHO ARE WAITING. Not the Bethesda attack force.

Wow, that's a moronic hyperbolic inflammatory statement you just made there. So because someone doesn't have the same opinion of you, they're not worth talking to? Man, and I thought Bioware and Blizzard fans were nuts...

So because I want my game to run well, have features I like, and NOT be broken or crash my system, I'm not worth talking to..even though I've been here and a fan of these games MUCH longer than you?
