No, I love options, but Open Lock is not one of those options that warrants getting upset about. It literally added nothing.

And again, this is from someone who played with Open Lock spells regularly.

"It added nothing". Well, I guess you'd be happy if there were only Swords as warrior weapons in TES VI. After all, maces, axes and dagger all do the same thing: kill people up close. They add nothing. Why should Bethesda take SO much time creating animations for the other weapons?

This is wrong. I have been playing Oblivion these past few nights with a new mage who does not use lockpicks. When he encounters a lock, he either uses his alteration spell or if the lock is too hard given his current alteration level, he passes it by. That is a really different experience than pulling out a lockpick and opening every chest you come across. Ergo, the open lock spell adds something to the game. Again, this may not be your style of play but I don't see why you insist of forcing others to adopt your playstyle.

It doesn't hurt my game. And I've never complained about it being in the game when they were in the game in the past. I've even used them.

But this ridiculous over reaction to something as minor and petty as "Open Lock" is irrational emotional sensationalism whiny brat temper tantrum throwing at its finest.

Open Lock being in the game = extra option that doesn't really add anything, but hey people can pretend they are getting a different gameplay experience
Open Lock not being in the game = some needless redundancy over a very trivial thing isn't in the game, and it's not a big deal and life can go on.

Again, your posts seem to have no regard for other people's game experiences. You say it adds nothing, but it does add something for a great many people and you just ignore that or chalk that up to "pretending." Also, the Open Lock spell is just one example. There is also the lock spell, which would be great for mages to use when running away to delay the people chasing them when they pass through doors. Then there is the Dispel spell effect that could bring down wards, summons, etc. There are dozens if not hundreds of chioces that have been eliminated. Open Lock is but one example.

I imagine TesVI could be nothing but a stick figure riding a dragon and this person would still defend it to the death.

I could make the same argument about two handed weapons. We already have one handed weapons, two handed weapons are redundant and add nothing to the game. You can kill things just as dead with one handed weapons. I see no reason for two handed weapons

And this coming from someone who played with two handed weapons regularly in prior games.
