Things that you can't suspend your disbelief over?

560 is the CAP smart guy. Over 560 nothing is changed, you only block 80 percent of attack damage, whether your armo rating is at 560, or 1000, absolutely no difference, and my health is at 500, this is a game issue, and not my characters issue, it stated happening after 1.3 cuz everyone whined that the archers were too weak. , and magic resistance effects ALL forms of magic, frost / shock / fire. Even with frost resistance at 90 it happens sometimes.

The only thing that really annoys me is certain NPC's commenting about me being in the DB..

Spoiler
I mean for God's sake I just killed the Emperor himself. I'm in an Imperial city and the guards just tell me, that they know who I am? Really? If you know that, then shouldn't you be trying to arrest me by now?

I know what you mean. My newest character finally finished the companions guild and I was like WTF!?!? They still treat you like a noob and Aela seems more like the Harbinger now. BGS  BGS I do not even know what to say anymore about how they programmed this game. It is frustrating to think how they dropped the ball in so many places on Skyrim.

It wouldn't be so bad if we hadn't already seen BGS do better.

It's cool. We're all human here and we all make mistakes.

Just like a programmer makes a mistake coding something that can kill a character in one hit. Unless that was intentional, lol. But if not, let's hope they fix it :]

i cannot believe that the game has different voice actors saying the exact same thing.
Its like voice acting has become cheaper than script writing or something.

I actually have no idea how much voice actors cost, or how much they did in this particular game. I know they had 60+ for Skyrim.

As for the different voice actors saying the exact same thing (such as the Jarls when they make you Thane), that falls into the writers' hands. And it's sad when writing suffers, because that stuff costs only creativity over laziness. No money lost there.

Eh. I'm there too, but only because I gobbled it up instead of taking my time. I also had a lot of bias from previous Elder Scrolls as well as high expectations.

A formula for dissapointment :[

-The fact that everyone magickally knows that I have the Star of Azura with me. I mean ****! I need ages myself to find it among the other things in my inventory, and it's super small, how exactly can they even see it, and, more importantly, how the **** do they know what it is?

-"Is that... fur coming out of your ears?"
"No, it's a toothbrush =_=... Ofc it's fur you idiot, I'm a freaking Katjiit! By the Nine, they should seriously make people pass an IQ test before they are recruited in the Keep's service..."

-That every shopowner and local peasant locks their house at night, but I can walk straight into a palace and into the Jarl's bedroom at night without no one asking any questions or trying to stop me (even visiting Ulfric Stormcloak in his sleep while wearing an imperial armor).

I did exactly the same to Ulfric, Standing there in all my Imperial finery swinging a sword in a threatening manner while he just carried on snoring.

Back to the main point, I cannot suspend my disbelief over idiotic immersion breaking comments, You all know the one's & they are mentioned above.
I had just completed the jarl of Riftens mission to become thane & handed it in, While standing there the Jarl asks her steward about any rumours regarding a Skooma den, Her steward replies that there is no basis to it & it's not worth sending any resources to find out.

Words to that effect anyway, They must have goldfish memories & forgotten i had completed the quest 30 seconds ago & become thane.

It goes on & on unfortunately;)

Well, for starters it's a game. If you think of it more than a game you have some serious problems.

They are talking about a new one obviously, but there is no quest related to that because the rumor is obviously wrong.

not being recognized for slaying the boss of the main quest by anyone
Spoiler
Or having anyone acknowledge The fact that I went to sovngarde as a living person. stuff like that should make people stand in awe of my abilities.
Or when you become the leader of the companions, the guards still say things like “Oh you are the new member of the companions. What do you do fetch the mead?”

that kind of crap removes the suspension for me.

To be fair, the dragons are still around. Alduin hasn't restarted a dragon based society yet, and most people don't even know he's around. For them it will just be dragons, and you are a dragonslayer, more credit is not needed and thus not given.

A good game requires minimal suspension of disbelief, a bad game lets you use your imagination for everything.

Okay then after you slay a good amount of dragons in the presence of the townspeople. (it does show them reacting) there is this little thing called rumor. they would tell the tales of this one guy single handedly taking on dragons and killing them for good when nobody else seems to be able to. so no its not to be fair. Im just wondering how much of the game they pulled out at the last minute to make the triple 11 release date.

No enchanters for trade, some minor holds don't have a shop, people running around in bikini armors (both for cold and protection against attacks).

Archery: when aiming a little over the head of the target (from a relatively long distance), the arrow just went straight over. What happen to projectile motion???
Sometimes when I aim straight at them (when they getting very close), the arrows just curved a little then went straight to the ground.. wtf..

Suspension of Disbelief is for incongruent story articles, lore, and established "in game" themes; not for sloppy coding or math errors.

Getting one shotted due to mis-coding is broken.

Alduin sounding like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wq8J_zjbxQ0&feature=related , carrying a bazooka and a parasol, inviting you for tea would be threatening your suspension of disbelief. Or finding out the mages guild has a computer with internet access...

They do comment on the Dragonborn, at least to a point. Lots of dialogue repeats so that's a reason for the failure. This is annoying, but you still can't expect people to know you actually killed Alduin. It wouldn't make sense. In Morrowind and Oblivion people had a good reason to know that it was over, to know what you did. In Skyrim, not so much. They at best know you are the dragonborn and capable of killing dragons.

All the kids looking identical, boys and girls. That is just CREEPY. And they're all the same size.

And they have American accents, whilst their parents speak with dodgy Scandinavian ones. WTF?

Honestly? There's nothing that I can't suspend my disbelief over. It's a game. It's a software system with all the limitations associated with the time -> cost -> quality triangle.

Sure, there are things that annoy me- inappropriate dialog being among the worst ("So, you're Brynjolf's new protoge, eh? Don't look like much to me" Except that I'm the ****ing Guild MASTER, you twit!). Absolutely, there are things that I wish were done differently. But there is absolutely nothing that I can't overlook in order to enjoy the game.

Not being able able to "suspend your disbelief" means that it's something that is so bad you just can't enjoy the game because of it. So again, there is nothing in the game that has that particular effect on me.
