Things You Would Want in Skyrim's Expansion

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 12:20 am

I want Morrowind to be accessable from Riften/Windhelm border. The
main quest should be there is to push the argonians back to their homeland.
There should at least 5 new cities, Blacklight, Mournhold, Tear, Narsis and Bodrum:

Bodrum: A town bordering Skyrim and Cyrodiil to the east, it is a first town you
come across when you go past the Riften border gate. There are a few argonian
guards in the town.

Blacklight: A northern port town bordering Skyrim to the east and it is the only town of
which hadnt been occupied by argonians. It is a main base for the dunmer resistence
faction.

Mournhold: Capital city of Morrowind, it is a largest city in the country. But
watch out for argonian soldiers/justicars, if approach them they become hostile.

Tear: It is a town along the border with Argonia. Then again argonians soldiers/ justicars may be
hostile if you come too close to them.

Narsis: A town in south-west Morrowind and it is a main headquaters
for the argonian faction. In fact the original town got destroyed but
it is recently being built by the argonian settlers and they also built
a castle south of town.

Vvardenfell: It is a now a dangerous place to go. It is full of cliff racers, ash and
lava. The whole island is a volcano and there are no towns there but it be full
of dungeons that is what is left of towns.

While traveling in Morrowind, further south you get the more you encounter
argonian soldiers/justicars. If you travel further north you get the more you
encounter cliff racers because of Vvardenfell.

More weapons - craftable and unique.

More significance for the Thane status.

New regions to explore.

A new playable faction.

Dwemer.

Theoretically, it's possible whether the haters and lore-mongers want to believe it or not.

Spoiler
Alduin was sent forward in time using an Elder Scroll. There's an Elder Scroll in a Dwemer ruin. However remote, there's a possibility that the Dwemer, through use of the Elder Scroll, sent themselves forward in time. And *now* is the time for their return.

And I certainly wouldn't mind some spell-crafting, or scroll-scribing, or staff-smithing, or arrow-smithing.

I'd love to see a lot of things added/tweaked, just to make an awesome game even better:

- A continuation of the Forsworn situation, perhaps culminating in the ability to either return the Reach to the natives, or wipe the Forsworn out systematically.

- A DLC to walk the path of Talos. Do (even more) great deeds, clean out the Thalmor, restore order to the world of men and mer and take your rightful place on the Imperial throne, being a Dragonborn and all.

- A buildable stronghold for ruling over. :)

- A vampire questline.

- Fixes and extensions to certain questlines, like the (almost-certainly bugged) Companions questline; the College questline needs some lengthening... or at least padding with Radiant quests and/or NPC quests. All faction quests should really have skill requirements--not perks, just skill levels.

- Fixes for marriage: More marrigeable characters (as in, everyone who's not already married), and at least one of every race/gender combo, etc. Make it so they don't walk off in the middle of the ceremony. Some extra dialogue, abilities, or quests would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath.

- More recognition for your deeds. At the very least, I'd like guards to stop talking down at me when I'm a Thane. I don't even mean bootlicking, but maybe a polite nod and an occasional greeting like, "Hail, Thane," instead of threatening to cut my hand off (especially considering my pickpocket svcks).

Most of these will be modded, I'm sure, and for that I'm grateful. Still, this would be my wishlist for expansions. I'm certainly not paying for horse armor. XD

I think a good idea for an expansion would be going to the psijic orders island it would be a good place to expand the magic system (spellcrafting) and could tie the thalmor in with the plot.

More folower stuff. There are so many housecarls & followers but we can only use 1 at a time, what about putting them to use when not traveling with the main character. Something akin to AC brotherhood. I'm thinking mining, ingredient, pelt gathering. Perhaps even opening a propper shop. It would also be handy to see their carrying capacity.

Some new dragons would be great. I'm not just talking in terms of ability. Some physical variety would be good because it would alter the tactics used to take them on. Smaller dragons would be faster/weaker, some might be HUGE, some might not even fly & some could be tiny little things that attack in swarms. I know it's a kids movie but How to train your dragon had the right idea & it would give the sepecies a more natural evolved feel.

Oooooohhhh!! A world encounter where the player sees a dragon egg hatch & must then decide to kill it or defend it from a bear/sabre/hunter etc..

Solstheim, if not the whole of Vvardenfell.

The fact they included the landmasses leads me to believe they are going to texture and populate them.

I think in terms of game mechanics it's fine the way it is.

I personally like to see new environments, both outdoors and in dungeons, new settlements with unique architecture. But most importantly more lore related stuff, quest relating to events that transpired between the oblivion crisis and the present, like seriously, how does all those well established organizations like the mages guild fall apart.

How did dark brotherhood suddenly become so insignificant? How did the empire lose so much strength? What happened to the grey fox and the cowl? What happened to the fighters guild and knights of the nine?

Soo many questions unanswered

This, like being able to join a Khajitt caravan or an orc stronghold, and infiltrate/join the Thalmor.

-More companions/marriagable NPC's
-More houses to buy
-Fletching
-More alchemy ingredients

Just more of everything. Hopefully a good storyline and awesome setting, like Shivering Isles.

Lots of these ideas sound more like dlc or mods than an expansion.

I like the idea of having the Psijic Order island made available, and a plotline that involves them allying with the empire to put the Thalmor in their place would be awesome.

I'd also like to see the impact of the completion of the main quest affect the land- will the people of Skyrim come together in peace with the empire, will this lead to a social collapse, will there be a faction that splits off and heads out to create their own Nord territory? An expansion that examines this and opens up more landmass would be cool.

I'd want the marriages to have more detail, like a party afterward, gifts and a cake, maybe children to be born. Maybe some more romance dialog during the proposal, and more marriage dialog after the wedding.
Also, every voice in the game should have marriage dialog so that we can marry any character we want.

Eventually I'd like to see all of these.

-Flesh-out Combat
-Flesh-out Dragons
-Extend the Civil War with something having to do with the Thalmor
-Flesh-out existing guilds and add in great new ones.
-New Armor and New Weapons.
-Unique weapons that are better than smithable ones.
-Dragonbone weapons.
-A new, fun Daedric Realm
-A new area in Tamriel, maybe the coast of Black Marsh, Solstheim, Morrowind, High Rock, etc.
- ALOT OF REBALANCING. ESPECIALLY WITH DESTRUCTION
- And most importantly ALOT OF NEW SPELLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Playing a Mage can be really dull.

i would like to see an expansion that offers twice as many weapons and armor, new weapon types mainly. make ranged weapon into a plural feature by adding some variety into that catgory.

definitly more spells.

I want vampirism to have an upside to it, like I think vampires should be about as strong as a werewolf. And maybe a hidden perk tree for each one would be cool (hidden until you contract the disease of course)
