Things You Would Want in Skyrim's Expansion

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 2:37 pm

I'm really less concerned about "features" I want in the expansion than where it's set.

Being able to visit some place outside Skyrim bu NOT an island like Solstheim or a pocket plane like Shivering Island.

Blacklight, Blacklight, Blacklight...

This. This very, very much. I loved Shivering Isles, but I really don't want "ehh, just explore a Daedric realm" to become the standard for TES expansions.

We're SOO close to it, and Morrowind's geography seems like it would lend itself very well to letting us explore the area bordering Skyrim(not too large of a land size, with one nice large city to populate). *crosses fingers for a Blacklight expansion*

I'd absolutely love if they added Morrowind on. Somehow I doubt they will, but it would be the most awesome expansion ever.

I would want tough dragons with better or even just different powers also give them all of the shouts you can get that would be a fun fight. Also it would be cool if you were assasinated by some one but jygalag saves you and brings you to his newly conquered realm because your death would remove order from skyrim so you have to go on a quest to figure out who tried to kill you and to do some stuff in jyggalgs realm. Also I want to kill all of the thalmor they killed my horse and they are just asses to.

Well I don't really care that much about the shouts etc. I want more history around the Sea of ghosts.

Really good topic.

Let's see.
  • I want Horse Armor (20-30 Sets) added in the Expansion not in a separate DLC.
  • New Weapons (20), Armor (20), New Magic *at least 30 of them*, ingredients (100-150), Cross-Bows, Spears, Halberds, Dai-Katanas, new Bows, apparel (Robes etc), New Exploring Music.
  • Bring in new creatures (old and new). Liches, Lizard Mans, Spiders, Homunculus, Medusas, Orgrims, Reiklings, Winged Twilights, Slimes, Huge Bats, Sharks *that way, swimming isn't always safe*, New Dragons, .. i am getting tired ..
  • The Exploring Land has to be bigger than Skyrim. At least 2 Skyrims Together. *i have no idea where* Maybe Atmora .. Akavir? Nah .. probably just the Morrowind Main-Land or High Rock ..
  • Expensive - 3 Towers *like the ones from Lord of the Rings* in which you buy and you can make it your home sweet home. Store all your loot and other crap.
  • Cheap - 3 Regular Houses cheap ones but good looking, not like the Towers.
  • On your own - Caves for Vampires. You can make your home.
  • 300 Locations - Caves, Mines, Dungeons, Barrows, Tombs, Daedric Shrines, Grottos.
  • DLC has to be 20$
  • 5 Forts *strong holds*, You have to choose one then fight each other for land, in here you will get quests depending to who you join. Also you can build your own and fight against all them on your own.
  • A little bit more lore on the Falmer, Dwemer, and Wood Elves. --- *as for the Dwemer i don't want them appearing in the expansion i only want little clues to what really happen to them, but hard ones*
  • Talking about hard, puzzles and traps are more dangerous and difficult.
  • Grand Master Mode I don't want "hard core" Mode because i mean .. come on. That's for Fallout. I want Enemies to have 100,000,000,000 Health. Come one i saw some of you Complaining about the game being to easy.
  • You can have kids and you name them, feed them watch them grow into warriors then, you can take them with you to hunt and explore.
  • Fishing
  • Using Boats, - {decorations, home, beds, and other stuff}
  • Leviation, Night-Eye, Mark Recall.
I think that's about it guys. I'm pretty sure Bethesda won't pay attention to this .. probably think it's crap .. anyways .. yeah this is what i want.

Some of my ideas are jokes and some are not:

- Mounted fighting

- Vampire & Werewolf perk tree

- Dragons as mounts

- More complex fighting system

- Bring the attributes back

- Make your own unique armor with decals and whatnots

- 3x more spells and spell perk trees

- More civil jobs (working in the mill isn't enough)

- More different weapon types (spears and whatnots) and more unique looking ones

- Be able to build your own shack / house / cottage

- Be able to make campfire and setup tent

- Better interaction with the game world.

- Advanced UI

- Horse armor

- Get your own horse from the wilds and name her and be able to train/level up her. (Stamina, Health, Speed, Damage) Hell, add the perk tree for it too while your at it

- Shape your characters pre-story (no need to have million options, but something to choose from would be great)

- hardcoe mode: You NEED to eat, sleep to survive. Being naked in the snow mountains makes you freeze to death, same applies for swimming in ocean that has icecubes in it, campfires might save you from death (ya gotta keep yourself warm in the blizzard)

- Better and longer guild quests (heck, fix the main quests while your at it)

- Be able to shapeshift into a dragon

- Aaaannndd...oh wait, 30 min to go untill my shift ends, that's it for now !

DAMN i want him on the development team all i could think of was assorted weapons and mounted combat

if you wana weapons idea my topic is spears

i reckon player houses and carriages that depart from the minor holds would be a nice touch. more of a little DLC addition than an expansion. would be nice nonetheless. i want to live in falkreath

Plenty of humour and shades of grey when it comes to the so called bad guys and good guys personalities. Loved the dark humour of The Shivering Isles Expansion for Oblivion with so many crazy zany characters ruled by the maddest of all Sheogorath.

I think with either a once again unified empire or a liberated skyrim the next step is to get rid of the Thalmor they are really a thorn for both sides, so I would like to see a quest line to let this happen, it doesn't have to be a main quest but it would be cool. (I have no ideas really for the main quest)... I think a cool radient quest that would be cool, would be to take back Helgen from the bandits so it can be rebuilt (this would open additional radient quests both during the rebuild and after it has completed). maybe after you get the bandits out the rebuild starts, but then you have to help liberate supply lines, or run messages to get supplies to keep construction on going... as each one completes construction then moves farther along.... maybe after 6 in game months it can be completed and re-populated. I would like to see expanded factions that could be joined and expansion of the current faction quest lines. For gameplay changes I would like to see role-playing modes added to the game.

I was thinking this my self. It gives the player a blank slate to rebuild a community in their own way. They could even become thane.
I'm wishing more & more that they remove or change some of the dialog. Like guards who say "Psst, I know who you are" Is that realy the sort of thing you would constantly say in public to the head of a group of killers.

Sorry, but I find half those things absurd. Dragons as mounts? Shapeshifting into dragons? Those two sound ridiculous.

All the others such as introducing entirely new mechanic to the game (attributes) simply aren't viable for just an expansion. Stuff like that is more suited for modders. I doubt the developers would do anything like it.

Edit* I just noticed that you said some were jokes...but still

More racial unique gameplay.

Like someone said above, Vampire/Werewolf guilds.

A continuation of the Civil War ending, war with Thalmor?
- Summerset Isles war DLC?

More locations to visit, AKA anything bordering Skyrim, Morrowind/High Rock/Hammerfell(?)

The ability to play as a Dragon, if for no other reason than just the fun of flying around burning [censored] up.

If people want something "alien," like Shivering Isles, Beth could always look into making an Akavir expansion.

Well, my first thought is: CLOTHES, let's see some more non-armor outfits, doesn't have to be anything fancy, but a bit more to choose from would be nice...

Furthermore (I haven't heard any of Bethesda's plans in this regard), I'd like to return to Morrowind... I mean it'll be different, what with the Red Mountain eruption and everything, but it'll still be Morrowind... How about getting to free Morrowind from those nasty argonians? That'd be cool...

-Being able to go to Cyrodiil and Morrowind!

-There needs to be more Khajiit NPCs somewhere. They need something more than just travaling caravans. Orcs have strongholds atleast.

-Give Vampires/Werewovles something more: something more to do, or for them simply to become a bigger part of the world.

-The Vigilant of Stendarr need a quest or something...Seriously...

Bug eyed snake women.
White furred monkey men.
Traveling barbers who'll cut your hair and perhaps your throat ala Sweeny Todd The Demon Barber.
Mermaids who lure men to their deaths with haunting siren songs.
Ancestors of npcs from past Elder Scrolls games considering Skyrim is set 200 years after Oblivion.
Giant horned black beetles that creep about quietly like the moose do in Skyrim only much more hostile.
Killer octopus who eat slaughter fish for dinner.
More food recipies.
More items to smith.
Witch covens which snatch up little children from snitching repentent switching to a religious life ex witches.
Earthquakes and avanlanches.
Deranged not all there in the head people. Some are old. Some are addicts. Some are dangerous. Some are harmless. They all will have you gawk at them in stunned dread and a overwhelming urge to run far away.
Public hangings and burning people at the stake by fear mongering gossip gobelling towns folk.
Small parades depicting the trails and tribulations of the Nine Divines or...the Daedra.
Graves with names.
Grave diggers who sell bodies for money..bodies for money..
Little babies with buetiful smiles you have to protect from big hungry werewolves.
Turtles you can make into turtle soup.
Coffee full of caffeine induced stamina effects.

Might be tough for The Knights Of The Nine making a come back after two hundred years and with The Vigilant of Stendarr taking up the righteous fight against evil. Then again maybe they're connected in some way.

Ya like WTF? So what they like hunt daedra? Who are these people? It seemed strange they didn't get a quest. Makes me think they had a quest but they cut it out for some unknown reason.
