Who would do such a thing, I mean it's a great Dlc and all, but the hours I spent looking to find a way to transform so my character could match my Nordic carved helmet was kind of svckish. It makes you wonder, why would they troll like that, when someone trolls, they do it with the intent of getting people angry, but why would Beth want to make us angry, what did we do

It's a spoiler, but after you finish freeing the people from the stones you can get a power to conjure a werebear for 60 seconds. Not the same but it's something. I can't remember what stone though either.

thing is werebears are in the game and if bethesda had made lycanthropy proper aka a disease instead of a reward we could become one. and even considering the way they made lycanthropy in this game its odd bethesda didnt include at least a pan of werebear blood near one of there main gathering areas maybe explain its presence by the resident werebears in there human form beginning a ritual to imbue a new member of there group cult or whatever with that strain of lycanthropy. and of course you crash the party and can choose to drink the blood and become a werebear or ignore it and go about your travels with a little less back hair.

I'm not assuming anything, there are forebears in the game, you literally see three men change into them before you in the mountains, but you can't become one of them, it's a tease. Umbra was never hinted at, Umbria did not make an appearance in the dlc and become unplayable, I don't see how your dumb example applies

There have been many topics/posts about people wanting werebears, what do they do? They add them and make them unplayable. It's the same as "spears" being arrows.

While I really don't see any appeal in being a werebear and am able to live without spears... I wonder why Beth decided to add both this way.

I think it IS their idea of a joke. They were like "OMG, what morons are asking for werebears? LOL LOL LOL. Hey, wait, lets pull out the most ridiculous stops and put some [censored] and stupidly ridiculous werebears on the island. Yeah, yeah, we know, its totally and completely lame, but it would be funny as all get out because you just know some Napoleon Dynamite D&D guy with no girlfriend is going to lose his mind with the awesomness." Then they all laughed and put werebears in the game.

I give this entire dlc a 8 rating. Would have been a 10 if not for the ridiculous werebears. Yeah, they are worth 2 point deduction.

welp... This thread's getting locked soon. Where did it go wrong? The Original post... Immature really. Propose your problem in a mature manner. Withdraw from using terms like "troll" and confront the matter as if it were an issue in a video game and not with the amount of intensity of a 'real life' issue.

Don't get me wrong, were-bears and spears would've both been awesome to use purely for the sake of content and I'm quite curious as to what Bethesda has to say about why they went about things the way they did, but really? This amount of intensity is just not needed and provokes a sense of hostility in others.

Same with how they handled dragon riding. I dont care for the features but it is odd with how they handled them...
