A bit harsh but would agree that i hope this is as close to an action game that they take the series. Still, along with Planescape Torment, this is the best RPG i've ever played.

In Morrowind, you could max all of your skills simply by stealing a few items in Vivec and then going to trainers to buy them all to 100. Only a r-trd would think that Morrowind was remotely complex or challenging. One of the easiest games ever made and one of the easiest games to break.

This is the best game in the series to date imo. It's certainly not worse than any of the previous ones. And people seem to agree, given that it's already won a GoTY award.
I agree 100%

You spend more time in Skyrim in the favorites menu than you did in any menu in any other ES.
... No I don't. And I spend less time fumbling through that than I do fumbling with assigning and managing hotkeys.

I just don't even understand your first post. You spend no more, or less time than in any ES. The Menus weren't complex in previous games. Out of all the ES games, Skyrim easily has the weakest UI, so I'm not even sure why you brought that up. And console players do spend more time in the fav menu than in any previous ES menu, since there are only 2 hotkeys for the console. Unless your trying to say that you couldn't understand simple numbers.

Lol really? Skyrim is a joke compared to a game that used sprites? Please say "graphics > gameplay" so I can facepalm. I haven't done it in a while.
Uh... it would appear YOU are making the graphics > gameplay argument here, not them.

Wrong. In Morrowind they used a very archaic "click and drag" system for inventory management. This is the same system that had been used in 1990's and even some 1980's RPG's. It took forvever to organize your inventory in that game, in fact I think I spent more time in Morrowind just shuffling through items than I did playing the game itself. Not to mention the fact that the icons were so small that if you were sitting more than 3 inches away from your monitor it was hard to differentiate between them. It was horrible UI, one of the worst of any game I have played and I have been gaming on computers since commodore 64.

The only saving grace to Morrowind for me was its awesome soundtrack and ultra sci-fi enviornment. Other than that, there was NOTHING revolutionary about the game.

Wrong. I spent no more time in the menus in any ES, than I do in Skyrim. Skyrims UI svcks anyway, so I'm not even sure why it was brought up, unless its the whole attributes and level up hyperbole, from the "I don't understand counting" crowd. Ive been gaming since before there were RPGs. Morrowinds UI was a bit archaic, but didnt take a long time to deal with.

Lol oops. I actually meant to say "gameplay > graphics". Yay I got to facepalm.

My point was that Daggerfall has neither better graphics nor gameplay than Skyrim.

It's not worse than any other TES game... Especially Oblivion.

It lost some features, that need to be gotten back, so elaborate on what you have lost and want back.

Whats causing you to spend so much time in the menu's? Personally, I have spent little to no time in Skyrims menu's except for when im selling stuff.

But gameplay is more important than graphics. I hardly think it's facepalmworthy. I haven't played Daggerfall so I have no opinion on the specific instance in question.

And I spent little to no time in the previous games menus. That's my point. I'm on PC, so I have 8 hotkeys. On console they have 2. Which means a [censored] ton of time in the fav menu.

Completely agree Dragonbone. Gameplay is more important. I facepalmed when he suggested otherwise.

I've never used any of my hotkeys.

I'm just that awesome.

Also, the Favorites menu keeps me "In the game" - it comes up fast, and goes away just as fast. I can swap spells between my enemies strikes, and always have the shout I need.

Yeah, well you and I both know that this game should never have been made for console. But that doesn't change my point, Morrowind had a sluggish UI just the same way this game does and Morrowind was made for PC. Beth just svcks at UI and they always will, shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

How do I hotkey in Skyrim? I did it all the time in Oblivion because it was like favourites without the annoying menu, it was instant. Skyrim doesn't tell me how to do it. There seems to be no "hotkey" option anywhere. I don't see what's so awesome about a system that works exactly like hotkeys but slower.

I didn't suggest otherwise though did I? Try reading my comment instead of talking on the other side of your face to Dragonbone.

Not that it even matters. Skyrim is a better game than Daggerfall. That isn't even disputable.

And in previous games you didnt even need a fav, so its less time. And there's nothing more "out of game" than bringing up a stupid favorites menu, every time you want to change something. Like my original point states, you spend no more, or less time in Skyrim Menus than in any other ES.
